I will be purchasing an AP for our Aug trip. I will not purchase until I get down to FLA as I have an exisisting ticket to trade up to an AP and I understand that is the only place I can do this.

My question is this. I want to also purchase the dde for that same trip. We arrive on a Saturday. Am I right that, I can not purchase the dde until I purchase the AP? If so, can I get this purchased and activiated the same day as my AP? I understand this is a diffrent location out of Chicago? Does anyone know if this will work?

You can buy the DDE any time, but it takes 3-4 weeks before you'll get the card (so it's not for immediate use). That being said, we were told that they could issue a temp if ours didn't make it in time. We still have time to work it out.

The AP rate is $60 vs $85 for the full blown price, so you could just eat the other $25 to be safe...

I would dig up the DDE customer service number and ask them what you should so. I ordered mine a couple weeks before my trip last year and ended up getting a temporary card at Epcot. You may be able to order it and pick up a temp card as soon as your information makes it into the Customer Relations computer system. That *may* be a batch job that's only run at night, though.

The DDE is only available to Annual Passholders at $60, the $85 rate is for non-passholder Florida residents only. You must be either a Florida Resident OR an Annual Passholder to purchase the DDE.

Since you do not live in Florida, you must have either an AP or an AP voucher to order te DDE. Once you have purchased your Annual Pass, you can call to order the DDE. You can then arrange to pick-up a temporary card at EPCOT guest relations outside the main entrance. Remember, though, that the DDE office to order your card is only open during normal business hours Monday through Friday. You can not purchase your DDE on the weekends.

I Did call the cs number on the back of my card. It seems that I can call ahead and get a temp card, if I purchased a voucher. Since, I am trading up tickets and can only do that at DW, that is not an option. I have to wait until I purchase my AP then call Mon- Fri only. Since I get down on Sat. I will have to wait until Monday at 5:30 to pick up temp card. I call on Monday am with ap in hand. Order dde then wait until the end of the day to pick up at Epcot. That is what they told me. Thanks for your input..

Well, that works! You'll miss out on Saturday and Sunday but you'll have it for the rest of your trip . BTW, back of what card? If you have an AP that you will be renewing you may be able to order a DDE card now.
