I will be going to WDW next Friday :Pinkbounc and purchasing a PAP, I am also a DVC member and AAA member plus my DD is a CM, now for my question is it worth it to buy a DDE? We will be returning for 10 nights in Dec. and staying offsite. Thanks for your help.

You would save enough $ for you after a few meals to make it great option for you. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

::MickeyMo Definitely! During our 10 nights trip in May, we saved about $300. Big difference! Plus, it'll save us lots more in Jan. when we go again. ::MinnieMo

Absolutely! We saved approximately 100.00 in June (family of four) and I'm sure we will save at least that on our trip later this month!!

I say go for it! :cool1:

We more than recovered the cost in June so our October trip was a bonus as will be any we plan before the end of June. This has been a great option for us. :earsgirl:

I would say yes. You get free parking which for 10 days could be $90 (Never used it but I think this is correct. If I am wrong please correct me!). When me and the DW go we spend about $200 a day for food. We eat every meal at a restaurant and never hold back. We also stay about 10 days. Granted the gym gets to know us very well. But in all we save almost $350 on meals. So for the $50 extra for DDE we more than make up for it.

An AP holder would get free parking anyway.

Really it is a straight-forward math problem based on how much dining you will do at the participating restaurants. Do an estimate of what you will be spending at participating restaurants. Is it over $250 which is the break-even point for the $50 cost ($250 * 20%)? If so, then I would buy the card.

Good luck.

Yes, Yes Yes....it is a money saver if you use it! If you plan on dining out....buy it!

Only get it if you intend to eat at sit-down restaurants. There are very few counter service restaurants that give a discount. Also, make sure you factor in the 10% that some restaurants give to AP holders. It was a good deal for us because we stayed @ Pop and their food court honors the 20%. If it wasn't for that, we would not have even made back the $50 we spent for the card.

Make a tentative list of the resturaunts you know you will be eating at and approx how much check would be and see if the DDE would be worth it. Just with our ADR"s for this trip we will have gotten our $50 back + more. There are also quite a few sit downs we didn't make ADR's for but will be eating at and that is just more $$ saved. We also are making 2-3 trips this year and after the first trip the card is more than paid for so it is just bonus savings for all other trips.

BTW I ordered my DDE card on 10/6 and got it today.

i would, it easily pays for itself. we have the dde card & saved over $200 on our last trip & will be using it again next sunday on our trip.

the dde card is only available to annual passholders & florida residents. for others they can purchase the dining & premium dining with the magic your way packages.

yes it is. Also don't forget you get free valet parking when dining at resort hotels.

How does the Free Valet parking work. I did not know this was part of the card. If this is true it will be a great option for me.

We made our $50 on the 3rd day of dining with 2 people. I haven't kept track of what we have saved since then. We will also be using it in Dec for 7 people.

We eat at least one TS a day, so it really pays off for us.

We went down in April/May and it paid for itself that trip easily. We'll use it again this December.

Go for it.

We used ours over 10 days in Sept. and it paid for itself in that one trip. We are going back in December so it will be great to get the discount knowing the card is paid for.

When you go in to the valet: Show your card and tell them you are dining.

After you are done when you go puick up your keys they will ask you again for your card and they may also ask for your dinner receipt.

The parking issue is tricky. When I stayed at the AKL and drove my own car, I asked about having the valet fee waived because of the DDE since I would be eating in sit-down restaurants in the resort. They explained that over-night valet was not included in the benefit, only if I drove to a resort, valet parked and then left a couple of hours later. I was a little annoyed.

I love my DDE, I've had one for 4 years. Another cool feature is that your alcohol is discounted too! Not just in the restaurants, but many of the hotel bars as well as the Rose & Crown at Epcot will honor the 20% discount on a bar tab! :drinking1

Just a little suggestion on figuring the tip on a DDE discounted check. I always tip 20% in a restaurant, so I just pay the original un-discounted amount of the bill since they have done the math for me!
Cheers! :sunny:
