DDE Question

Hi all, not to show my ignorance (just can't help it), but have never purchased the DDE before, quite simply, can the card be used at counter service spots or is it just for sit-down restaurants? DW & I are AP holders and DVC members, and have never tried it and are mulling it over for our May 08 trip. Thanks for all your help.

It can be used for Disney-Owned Sit Down Restaurants AND for Counter Service where there is not a Sit-Down location. (All-Stars, Pop Century, Port Orleans-French Quarter). Right now, there are a couple of locations at Animal Kingdom such as Pizzafari, Tusker House, and Flame Tree Barbecue that take DDE, but that may change when Tusker House becomes a sit-down restaraunt.

(There are a few non-Disney-owned locations that take DDE, but not many).

If you already have AP's, or are planning on getting at least one AP for your party (which you'll need to qualify for the DDE), it's almost always a good deal. DDE membership costs $65, so if you'll spend roughly $300 on food (including alcoholic beverages) at the participating restaurants from the link in mickeymouse1017's post over the next year, you'll come out ahead.

If you're planning on buying an AP solely to get the DDE, it's probably not really worth it, as the upgrade from even the 10 day ticket to an AP is a couple hundred dollars.
