DDE question

I have the DDP for our upcoming sept trip..love it.

But want to ask a few questions about the DDE and what qualifies.

You can use it for alcohol beverages..right? that includes like poolside at OKW or VWL?

What about in the parks for snacks or something that isn't covered under our DDP? like those little stands..anyone try it at the Mc"D fry stand at AK?

Is the discount just a flat 20% on food anywhere or is there a specific list of places that qualify?

We are planning to go back in May and the kids will be considered adults by Disney standards and they aren't going to eat enough to make the DDP worth it then, so i will use a DDE at that time, but got to think may be worth it now.
Are most CM familiar with how it works?

DDE is not valid at Counter service or free standing food kiosks, like the McD fry stands, only table service and buffet restaurants, and the Counter Service at AK (since there is no Disney operated table service). It is aslo valis at the Counter Service/Food Courts at the Value resorts, as they have no Table Service or Buffet venue.

It is valid at several lounges, but not usually the "pool side" type bars. I think, but am not 100% sure, it is valid at Gurgling Suitcase (OKW).

Yes, the places that take it give you 20% off your total bill, including alcoholic beverages. There is a lot of info about the DDE here: http://www.allearsnet.com/din/dde.htm including the list of places that accept it. There is also a good description on Disney's annual passholders' website.
