We are going to be at OKW from May14th to May19th. We are driving so we may possibly try to get a value for the night of the 13th before going to OKW on the 14th. Here's my delimma. We already have a DDE and I'm not sure we should purchase DDP for our trip this time or not. What do you guys think? :confused3

We are going down in June, and also have DDE and were contemplating whether or not to get the DDP. :scratchin

We eventually decided to do the DDP. ::yes:: We used the DDE last August on our trip. While it was great to get the discount off our meals, really it just takes off the tip! :scratchin We figured with the DDP, at 37.99 per person, it was just a better deal. You get a snack, counter service, and sit-down meal for that! Amazing! :hyper: Figure, if we ate in Japan with an appetizer/meal/dessert/tip - it would be more than 37.99 per person for just that meal!

We tend to do at least 1 sit-down meal per day, so we hope to save some money with the DDP this year! :flower:

If you did decide to get DDP and you already have DDE, you could still use the DDE for anything that you have to pay for food wise right? 15 days, 15-TS, 15-CS and 15- Snacks and you used all of those before you left, you could use DDE then? I'm I making any sense here?

We are doing both, but let me explain. We're arriving in WDW on Sunday (1/22) and activating our annual passes. The DDP isn't available to us yet, so we're going to be getting the DDE to use over the next year. However, we do plan to use the DDP on our September visit. But if we choose to eat off of the plan we can still use our DDE. When we return again next January we'll probably skip on the DDP again because my parents will be with us and they generally buy a lot of our meals and won't want the dining plan, but we can give them the discount. Also, if we make any spur of the moment trips over the year (dh may have to work in Orlando occasionally....) we'll use the DDE card as we won't be eligible for the DDP. When I can get it I like the dining plan because its not all sit down restaurants. With 3 kids sometimes that's hard!

Granted, our savings on the dining plan won't be as great as it would be if we didn't have DDE, but we'll still see some savings from my calculations....and the DDE will more than pay for itself in the few meals we have planned for this trip.
