I am staying at a DVC resort in September for a week with 12 family members - assortment of adults and small children - one over the age of 3 and 3 under. My sister-in-law lives in Florida and will be dining with us occasionally but not the entire time? If we purchase a DDE pass must she be with us each time we use it?

thanks for your information and advice in advance

DDE rules state that the card holder MUST be present to take advantage of the discount, and that it is valid for up to a party of 10. When I used it (I was always present if they had wanted to confirm), they did not really check much of anything; a glance of the temporary card and 20% off!

On the other hand, if you are staying on points (yours or rented) you can take advantage of the DDP...

If you have an annual pass, you can purchase the DDE card yourself, and don't have to be a Florida resident. But yes, the previous poster is correct: the card holder must be present in order to be able to use the discount.

Cheers!
