DDE, good deal?

I was just reading up the DDE, we have SP's and are in WDW most every weekend. Am I right in thinking that you can use your DDE card for 20% any day/any time at any of the restraunts listed? If so I assume I'd only need to spend $375.00 before I "paid" for the card... meaning if I were to spend 375.00 in food, with the discounts I would have saved $75.00 the cost of the card... anything over $375.00 and I'm getting the savings, the card is already "paid for itself"... so to speak. It seem pretty good to me... considering we ussually do a good dinner atleast once a month.. so that's $15.00 off the tab so that meal. Any other DDE members, what other "special" offers have you gotten?

We go every weekend as well, living 45 minutes away, and are VERY glad we're DDE members. It paid for itself a long time ago.

We've received the discount during surprising times: on some holidays (Valentine's Day, Easter), even though it states that holidays are not eligible. We've just included the card with our credit card and hoped for the best. We also received the discount on the Fantasmic package at Hollywood and Vine, though it might only work for Hollywood and Vine.

Also, it helps our friends when we go out with them, as they tend to eat at Disney a lot less than we do.

You get very close parking at Epcot - we're always in the front row towards the left, where the RV parking is.

You'll get the discount on alcoholic beverages. Isn't that incredible? I haven't tried it yet on an entire bottle of wine, but it makes the Lapu Lapus only $8.

We also have access to special dining events that are mailed on on cards periodically. Read my review of the DDE Polynesian Excursion if you're interested.

If you decide to do it, an easy way to figure out how much dinner will cost is to just add up the cost of the food and alcoholic beverages, and add a couple dollars for tax. The 20% basically covers the tip.

The discount is also given at some of the lounges and a few of the counter service restaurants at AK. We even use it if we're buying just sodas.

Anyway, if you can't tell, we LOVE this program. Definitely go ahead and do it if you go as often as you say!

Here's another vote for you to get it. We absolutely love our DDE card. I forgot to renew it and we went up on short notice for a weekend and believe me, we were missing it terribly. Just in the three nights we were there, it would have paid for itself again.

We LOVE our DDE and use it all the time! We enjoy character meals and the discount helps with them alot - every litle bit helps!!

At AKL you can use it all the restaurants because they have no "sit-down" restaurants just counter service.

It was a great investment for us and you can use it for up to 6 people in your party.

We won't leave home without our DDE ever again!
