I'm wanting to know when my DDE will expire if I order it in the next day or two. We are making a trip March 12-19 and may be returning again next March if the crowds aren't too bad. Anyone know?

It's good for oen year from the day you order it.

Actually, I ordered mine about 3 weeks ago and ours expires 2/28/06.

Lately people who have ordered them have been getting 3/31/06 as an expiration date.

March is a beautiful time to visit WDW. Have fun!

I ordered mine last Monday and my confirmation said it will expire 3/31/06.

hi :wave2:
I think I`m getting alittle confused  We just recieved our AP vouchers, which we were told become activated on the day we get the actual AP, soooo I called the DDE to ask the same question, and was told that the DDE becomes activated on the date that I actually ORDER it on the phone. The Rep suggested that I caLL back a WEEK before we leave (beginning of Aug.), I`ll receive an e-mail confirmation, which will act as the actual card, since it takes 6 weeks for the card to be delivered to us. OK, I`m thinking I`ll have to call as close to the departure date as possible to take advantage of the card for 2 trips, but you guys are saying that from the time that you call, the expiration dates are actually falling about 5 to 6 weeks later?? mabe thier giving us the time frame of the processing of the card??!!!! :confused3 YOU THINK???!!!
thanks,

The extra weeks must be standard. I ordered my DDE last March. I received it in a week's time, and the expiration date is 04/30/05.
I think they just allow extra time to cover for processing and mailing.

The DDE card begins, apparently, with the e-mail they now send.
Your AP begins upon activation (at a Park).

The DDE card seems to be approx 13 months, rather than 12. (The following year and month after payment.)
The AP is good for a year to the exact date it is activated.

Maria, I would certainly do what the rep recommended.

CarolMN (I think) was guessing that the current extra cushion is due to the onslaught of APers calling for DDEs. In the past when the DDE was only available to FL residents it certainly made sense for the cards to become active as soon as you ordered as Anne said. But whatever happens in the coming months, it won't hurt to order very close to your trip.

But in the case of the OP,she can probably call and order it tomorrow and have her card good through 3/31/06....or at least ask about the expiration date.

Oh, Luv2Roam has more info...sorry we posted at about the same time!

We are a couple of those former "Florida residents only" DDE members. Our previous years membership expired on Jan. 31st. I renewed it last week over the phone, and received an e-mail "validation" letter stating that the letter was an authorization to extend the benefits until Feb. 28th, 2005, and when we recieve our new cards, our new expiration date will be March 31st, 2005. I am happy to say, though, that our renewal cost $50, instead of the previous $55. renewal. I'm wondering what the renewal rate will be at the end of the new period, and if it will remain available to everyone that is a pass holder, not just Florida residents as it was previously. You never know with Disney. Maybe Eisner is just trying to gain more support from guests.
