DDE expiration date - confused

Sorry if this has been asked. What is the expiration date for the DDE card? Is it the day your AP expires, or 1 year from when you make the phone call to order it or some other date? We'll probably only get this if we can use it for two trips - thanks!!

I guess that's why I'm confused--I've read some other posts that say they've gotten cards with a 2/28/06 expiration. I think I also read one that had a 1/31/06 expiration. If I could be guaranteed the February date, I'd get it since I could use it on more than one trip.

Wait until February 1 to order it, that should give you the 2/28/06 date (all expire at the end of the month). They will e-mail you a confirmation to use until you get the card. I'm going March 2, I'm waiting until 2/1 in case I have a February trip next year.

Ordered mine on the 12th and got my confirmation email/temporary "card" on the 14th - mine is good until Feb/06, according to the confirm letter.

On Monday, January 10th, they changed the expiration to end February 28, 06. I don't know how they determine this yet. Do they wait for the 2nd Monday of the month and then make all the cards expire at the end of the following month one year later or do they have a cut off of the 10th of the month? I guess we will know more next month.

OK this makes no sense I ordered mine on January 13th and got the email the next day and the expiration says 1/31/06????? I guess I will wait for the card to arrive.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll wait till Feb. 1st to call just in case. As long as I can use the email confirmation, it won't hurt to wait since we won't be there till Feb. 5. Too bad there's not a set policy to alleviate all this confusion. Oh well, I guess it takes time to work out the kinks in a new program.

Maybe they chose the Feb/06 date since they are far enough behind that many will not receive their cards until February.
I thought it only took a week when I ordered mine last year. I remember being surprised I received it so soon. But it did not have far to go throgh the mail.
I think I ordered my card last March. My expiration is April '05.
I recall ordering it as soon as I had a FL driver's license. And I waited until we bought a house, and right before closing, before getting a FL dr lic. (So I did not have to change my address later.) And that was last March.
They must pad it up a little in case the guest does not receive their card right away.

We also ordered ours on Jan 10 and have an expiration of feb.28 06. We were told that due to the amount of increased participation it would be 6 weeks before the cards would arrive. We will be leaving before the cards arrive to I hope people will be familiar with the letters.
