Can we use the DDE discount at Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast?

Could we use the DDE discount in conjunction with the Fantasmic Dinner Package at Mama Melrose's?

You do get the discount at CRT and it all depends on what CM you get on the phone when booking it.

Some know to just give you the 20% when you book the meal and others make the mistake of charging the full amount and then you have to get the discount refunded (either in another phone call or in person).

Many hereon the DIS have reported getting the discount right away when booking the meal; others have reported paying full price and getting the discount/refund either in another phone call to dining or in person at the restaurant itself.

Ok, I just checked our CRT receipt from last Thursday.

This is what it looks like:
3 adult meals $95.97
1 child meal $21.99

20% DD Food -$16.39

SUBTOTAL $101.57
18% Gratuity $16.91
Tax $6.61
Amount Due $125.09

Disney Coupon $-2.16

Amount Due $122.93

We noticed when the bill was brought that a full 20% (really about 18%) was not deducted & DH thought about asking the server about that.

What is "Disney Coupon"?

i actually haven't read of either case of getting the discount in advance which is why i'm so confused about it. i even called to get the discount and i was told i'd get it, but i never did. it wasn't until i got to the restaurant that i got the discount, but i actually had added a person, so it just got credited towards that. i've seen others report they get the gift card though.

so i'm still confused on daisy's situation. you paid when you booked, right? so is that what they charged you when you booked?

you don't get 20% off the entire bill either. they deduct the cost of the photo package from the total before determining the discount since it's not food.

When I booked, I probably gave them my credit card # (which is what everyone does, I believe)...but I thought that was just put on "hold" in case people don't show up.

We actually "paid" there that night...along with the receipt I typed out in my above post, I also have the credit card receipt in front of me, for $122.93

When I booked, I told them I would have the DDE card, but had not obtained it yet, and gave my credit card for the "hold".

When I read stuff about paying in advanced, I called and asked about it.

What they did in my case was they put me down as a "DDP" guest - at least they entered it in the same was as a DDP guest. Basically, I still owe the full amount, payable at the time of the ADR. My credit card is only if I'm a no-show. So when I get there, I can explain that I have DDE and its not pre-paid, and it will be settled there. Dining currently shows me with a balance due, and my credit card has not been charged at all.

If I did have DDP, they'd cancel the bill with the DDP credits.

But from what I understand, in most cases you must pay in advance. If you present your DDE card at your meal, they will make up the difference with a gift card for 20% of the meal-only cost, as a sort of "refund". Of course, since its a disney gift card, you have to spend it with them anyways...
