DDE card

Ok my Visa finally got charged for the $50. Now if I understand this correctly I should be recieving the DDE card. Unlike the AP voucher I do not have to activate it, correct?

Also if I do not recieve the card, I need to take the e-mail letter (will have to update the date) to Epcot and only Epcot to recieve the card?

We will be at Downturn Disney the night before our check in and obviously I could and would use the DDE for places such as Ghiraardelli Soda Fountain.

My card got charged last night too!! Mine expired 4/30/05 and we went over the 5/1/05 weekend. I took my letter with me that said we were in good standing and had no problems.
You do not have to activate the DDE card but be prepared to show id when you use.
Hopefully we will get ours soon as we leave next week!

You should receive your DDE card very soon if your card has been charged. My credit card was recently charged and I am hoping to receive my DDE anyday in the mail. My understanding is that once your receive your card is does not need to be activated like your AP.

If you do not receive your card before your trip and you do have an email letter, you may use your email letter to receive your discount for your entire trip. My understanding is that the letter may have a date on it that states is\t expires on a certain date. Just check to see if it has an expiration date on it and that it will be valid for your trip. You may need to contact the DDE office if your letter expires before your trip and you have not received your DDE card.

You only need to go by Epcot guest services if you do not receive your DDE card in the mail and did not receive an email letter. If this is the case, you would pick up a letter at Epcot guest services much like the email letter.

I do not remember seeing GSF at DTD on the DDE list of Restaurants. You may want to check that before you go. GSF is so good I plan to go there discount or not! It seems like there may be a discount with your AP. I cannot remember if it is for merchandise or for dining. Perhaps someone wiser than me will post that information.

NewCrew42 my bad about DDE and Ghirardelli. You are right you get a discount if you are an AP holder. According to
one gets 10% of merchandise and old fashioned soda fountain creations.

I'm glad to hear about the e-mail letter. I was under the assumption that if you did not get your card you would have to stop by Epcot. So the e-mail letter with the proper date is good, cool.

If your e-mail expires before your trip date, I think you need to call the DDE office to get an updated letter sent to Epcot. I don't think you can just go to Epcot to get a new letter without calling DDE first.

My Credit Card was charged on April 11th and I have still not recieved my DDE card. I ordered it on March 15th. We will be leaving in about 2 1/2 weeks to visit family on our way to Disney World. My Letter that they sent to my e-mail expires before we will get there. I guess I should give them a call before we leave.

wow - I can't believe your card was charged so long ago and you have yet to receive your DDE cards, doesn't the site say allow 6 weeks?? I would maybe call again.

Hopefully since I am in Florida it won't take anywhere near that amount of time!

I was charged April 12, and still no new DDE cards have arrived. I think it was March 13, I ordered them.
I am on my second temporary letter.
And we live just north of WDW, and our cards were renewals.
Figure on 8 weeks at least right now.

Unless it has changed recent, Ghiraardelli is not on the DDE plan. But I do use my AP (10%) discount there.

I ordered around March 23, Card was charged on April 20, and no cards yet. Leaving in eight hours, so unless Tinkerbell herself brings them, it's not happening, LOL. Didn't get DME luggage tags either.

Oh well, would have been nice to have both (especially the dining card!) but I'll still have fun.

Anyone know the rules for credit cards and delivering items purchased for sure?

I thought that if you purchase something it must be delivered within 30 days of the charge to a credit card? If so, Disney would have 30 days from the date of the charge to the credit card to get the DDE card to us or they could have to deal with a "charge back". I'm hoping mine come by May 17th...around 30 days after the charge.

I ordered mine on March 22nd.

My Visa was charged on April 11th and I still have not received my cards either. I placed my order around the 15th of March and was told at the time that they were working on a six week turnaround. This week will be eight weeks since I placed my order. I leave in just over two weeks and my e-mail letter expires half-way through my vacation. I guess I will be another person calling to get a new letter that will cover my whole vacation.
BTW, living in Florida won't help you. Rosa at DDE told me that the orders are sent to a card processing facility near Allentown, Pennsylvania. I live about 1 1/2 hours from Allentown and I'm still waiting as long as everyone else.

I ordered my DDE back on 7 March. I recieved the email authorization, but it expired on 30 April. Additionally, my credit card was never charged. Since we leave for our trip in 10 days I decided I'd better call today. The CM informed me that my DDE file was in the "rejected" pile because my credit card did not go through! I told them that I would have appreciated a phone call letting me know, and he said they called and left a message (somehow, the message never got to my answering machine nor their number on my caller ID!). The problem was fixed (they wrote my CC number down wrong!) and they are processing my request now. The CM told me to stop my guest relations at EPCOT when I arrive to pick up my temporary cards.
