DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
I hadn't heard that yet, so just looked. Ferrari on the pole (for real this time)!
What's with Bottas down in 10th?

Mercedes had a terrible week so they went with different rear wings on each car. Also there were 2 red flags in Q1, 1 in Q2 which ended the session and another in Q3 that ended the session as well.

Morning compadres from the mother country. Late night last night watching the cubs lose and chatting to Darcy on the zoom, so my 15k this morning was a little laborious, to say the least. Probably didn't help that I had a cigar last night as well. Hey ho. We live and learn. Well. We live.
May do a beer order today to get stocked up for the Euros, that start this week. And some eye drops for the Lady K as hers will be constantly rolling as I turn on Turkey vs the Czech Republic, or something as drab as that. It might be followed up by a Cigar order as well.

I aim to please.
No, that's "I aim to pee". Completely different.
For some people, these 2 things are not mutually exclusive.
Oh yeah. I went there. :scared1:

Well, on that note, have a phenomenal day fellas.

Hey at least you ran your 15k, you were up late last night. No run for me today, soccer tonight.

Looking forward to Friday and the start of the Euros.

It's really weird, I've had a cough all week, and when I run, it completely goes.
Enjoy the football mate, look after those knees.
Yep, really looking forward to the Euros, another bit of normalcy.

Happy Sunday. Life has been busy with work, HS tennis, house renovations, & house packing. Hopefully, all this will be over in a couple more months.

So, that's where I got my cough from. I need to start using protection on my device. :scared1: :lmao:

Hope all had / are having a good weekend. 4 weeks til DaWorld. Bacon, Bourbon, Cigars and Mickey Bars.
That's... a pretty massive swing.

They didn't do well at all. Don't even bother looking.

Mornin', gents! Hope all are well on this the day that is called Monday. Had a good weekend this past weekend, well, for the most part. My DD's spring dance recital was held Saturday morning, which went really well. Because of the whole quarantine, even though things have opened up a bit, was held outside. In clear blue skies. With a very bright sun. Hot, sun. Did I mention hot? I, along with my DW and DMiL put on plenty of sun block, but I, for some stupid reason, forgot my face and forehead. Wow, am I read...and hurt. I would have worn a hat, but we were running behind when we left and I forgot to grab on on the way out. So I have now decided to keep a hat in my car for whenever I needed one. Live and learn, right? Or, as Londontime put it, "Well, we live." 😆 Off to get ready for work, gents. Have a good day.

TTFN

Nah, playa, that's on me. I was typing from my phone, I meant to say "As a regeneration area, it's up and coming", and then call it one of the ugliest parts of London. Wasn't digging you out at all. Apologies if I sounded harsh.
But it is Ugly. I believe Gaza have a telethon for Vauxhall once a year, as they can't believe the deprevation they see.
The weird thing is it's so close to the centre, it takes care of itself. I can't believe the prices people will pay to live there. It has no redeeming features whatsoever. The Battersea Power station is nearby which is a iconic building, and there are rumours the apartments are gonna go for about 6 million GBP. Even Doc wont be able to live there.

:thumbsup2 Maybe Doc could get a place a few blocks away.

Morning, fellas. Hope you had a great weekend, and hope Randall had a nice birthday.

The big event for us was picking up my daughter and moving her back home for the summer. Can't believe she's finished one year of college already.

One of the sad things about coming out of Lockdown is upon us. It took me 3 and a half hours to get back from Legoland last night, so walked in the door at around 730. During lockdown it was taking me about 45 minutes. So I'm off out tonight to get myself infected and lick the entrance to the train station or something.

 It was nice not having to deal with crowds for the most part. With the demand for travel this summer, those days are long behind us, I'm afraid.

Hope some of y'all have a marginally decent Monday
(that'd make up somewhat for the one I'll most certainly be having).

Every Monday gets us closer to the next Friday.

Morning All. Heat warning here for today and tomorrow, humidex will make it feel like 110F. First time I ever remember them announcing schools with no cooling systems will be dismissed 3 hours early.

Lost our match last night but we won the parking lot after!! Habs beat those Jets again and Canada won the gold at the world hockey championship. I won't comment on the F1 race yet because I know @pkondz still hasn't watched, I'll just say it was interesting at times.

Hello gents, I fell woefully behind once again.
That’s what happens when you have a bat shirt crazy couple weeks at work.
I hope all is well with everyone.

I spent this past weekend off the grid at my friend’s cabin. Very remote. I’ve mentioned it before but as a reminder: 15 minute drive up a woods road, 15 minutes ride on quad up a dirt path, then 20 minutes up the lake on boat. No electricity, internet,TV, only a satellite phone for emergency. Peaceful weekend. Weather was only so-so with cloud and middling temperatures, but no rain and not so cold we needed the wood stove for heat, but not so warm we perished without AC. Overall enjoyable and relaxing, with a drink or two of rum to help us forget about the real world.

I finally had my first shot last week ( Pfizer if anyone is curious).
I barely felt it go in and then it was all over #TWSS

I heard that. Heat hasn’t hit here yet. Reasonably pleasant today but supposed to get up to 26C/79F tomorrow which should be nice for my last day off before going back to work.

Man! I know how you feel. DD24 was supposed to be graduating with her B.Ed. right about now, but instead, she was "graduated" early and has been teaching full time for a month or so.
Just yesterday they were sitting so little.

Speaking of your DD... I don't do the book of faces much, but I did see the travel poster she did. (You should post that here too.) I was very impressed.
Habs beat those Jets again
:sad2:

I'm pretty down about that, to be honest. After beating the Oilers 4 straight, and having pretty good luck against the Habs during the regular season, I thought we might finally get out of our division (only done that twice since 1979)........

Guess I'll keep waiting. It's only been 42 years so far...
and Canada won the gold at the world hockey championship.
I managed to catch the last little bit of that, but saw the golden goal. :)
I won't comment on the F1 race yet because I know @pkondz still hasn't watched, I'll just say it was interesting at times.
Thanks and good to know. :)
Hello gents, I fell woefully behind once again.
This is unacceptable. You'll have to do better, I'm afraid.

Remember that. Sounds great.
Overall enjoyable and relaxing,
:thumbsup2

You guys must be one of the slower provinces? I haven't compared, but I thought we were slow here, but I just had my 2nd shot.

The streaker on the second corner was a bit of a show off. He didn't need to tie a flag to it.

Double secret probation for you.
Or, line to the left. One cross each.

Your choice, homie. We are easy either way.

Sounds like a great retreat. Hope it was a good re-set.

Well done. Any super powers yet?

Thank you! She blew us away with that one. I'll have to see if I can get a .jpg version of that to post.

Morning fellows, from another glorious day in the mother country, and only 3 more work hours til hump day. I hardwired the bottom of my garden for the interwebby, as wi fi is a bit of a stretch, so we now have a fully functioning outdoor office, which I am currently sitting at. Looks like the Chicago trip is looking dicier by the day, although there is a big push to get this UK/US travel corridor back open. Lets see, it was always a swing for the fence at the bottom of the 9th.

The first five days after a weekend are the hardest...
You, sir, speak truth unto men.
I know the feeling. Believe me, I know.
And the Jets moose doesn't haunt our dreams like Gritty does. And, in my true bandwagon jumping style, if Ponzie had mentioned the mascots name was Mick E Moose, that may have tipped the scales in the Jet's favour for my undying vague interest in a hockey team.
but I did see the travel poster she did. (You should post that here too.) I was very impressed.
It was really good. She's got real talent. And I'm saying this as a hairy ar$ed construction manager.
No electricity, internet,TV, only a satellite phone for emergency.
I am fully aware I'm in the minority, but I would lose my shizzle after about an hour. I'm a city kid. But it sounds lovely for you mate, glad you enjoyed it. How's work?

Have a fabulous day, brethren. May your Mickey Bars be on Mickey today. Obviously not the Jets one, he's saving his pennies for a new defensive line.

Okay... I really need to know if you're kidding here or not.

Between 1997 and 2011, we lost our NHL franchise. In the interim, we had an AHL team. (American Hockey League)
Their name is the Manitoba Moose.
Their mascot, obviously, is a moose. And his official name is Mick E. Moose.

The moose are still here, but interest is far more on the Jets as an NHL team.
