DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Hay y'all...
Glad to hear that folks enjoyed their time off (that is, those that had it of course).

Not much happening down this way that's worth reporting. Unless I were in the mood to complain about a passel of things, but none ya' need to be bothered with that kind'a nonsense so I'll just wish every one a fine rest of the day and hopefully a better tomorrow.
Complain away. That's what we're here for. I mean, we have to put up with @londontime and his whining about having to build yet another Lego set that costs us 4x what it costs him. :lmao:

That would be......never.
It's funny. Even though I do construction for a living and know all the tolerances, I have a real issue with walking on glass in Shopping malls etc, so much so that my kids poke fun at me.
To make it even more fun, read this first, Dan... and then go for a swim!

....and this is why.

As an interesting side note, its a hop and a skip from your new Embassy (hence the name, I guess). I still can't believe you moved from beautiful Grovesenor Square to a "regeneration area" in Vauxhall. Trump was wrong about many many things, but when he called this out as a "what were you thinking moment", that hit a certain resonance in London. I used to work down the road from the old embassy and eat in the square.

I don't have any clue about this whatsoever, but I'll take your word for it.

Mornin', Gents! Hope all is are well on this what is supposed to be another wet day here from the Land of Cape Cod. DD's last day of school was yesterday and that means that I now have a 3rd grader. That just doesn't seem possible, but it is. Found out we had a leak with one of our outside faucets, so called a friend of mine who's a plumber and he came over to fix it. Good thing I did because he said the pipe and connection for to the shut off valve was pretty bad. From the looks of it it could have given way at any moment, and there's nothing I could have done to stop the water except to shut off the whole house. Whew! Dodged a big one there. Well, that's it. Have a good day everyone.

Sad that I didn't know this. Is this new "regeneration area" an up and coming place?

We went out to dinner with the extended family last night.
First time in better then a year we've gotten every one together out in public or anywhere else for that matter. Add a couple of Yuengling porters and a good calzone to the mix and I'll call it a good evening.

Apart from that just not seeming quite natural, if I were to attempt to swim in such a pool, I guarantee there'd be panicked 911 calls in from folks down on ground level referring to either monster or alien sightings or possibly screaming about damage to their eyes.

Morning all from atop the volcano on a cloudy day. Just taking care of some chores and making my way through the Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Pretty good series.

Another nice win for the Habs last night Dan. Who is it that they are playing again? ;)

Scary hot at the end though.

I think I could swim across it, walking ... NO!

Morning, folks.
Get my second Pfizer shot this afternoon.

Oh, I get that.
Yesterday, I packed my DDs lunch and walked her to the school bus pickup spot. Today she's teaching kids that are as old now as she was then. :sad2:

Lucky you caught that!

Wow, that sounds great! Glad you (and all your family) got to do that. :)

Oh, pipe down, you.

Of course not. Because you'd drown.

A regeneration area is, I guess, "up and coming" but Vauxhall is a shocker. One of the ugliest parts of London. Right next door to James Bond central though.

Any evening with Calzone has to be considered a victory for men. Good work sir.

I believe, my friend, it was some Pub team from out Ponzies way.
I watched the highlights, but I've been too busy to mock. Thankfully my schedule opened up. I'm not totally invested in hockey just yet, but I'm enjoying the watch.

It was fun giving the Leafs a head start, we seem to be on a bit of a roll.
Fully confident I will be made to eat these words at some point. However, my sporting April/May has been pretty good, Cubs on a run, Bears did well in the draft, West Ham in Europe, Habs not too shabby seeing as they were everyone's outsiders. All I need now is for England to win the Euros.
