DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Afternoon fellas from a balmy and Sunday London. CH Ninjas schoolmates party yesterday, so the garden was taken over by an 18ft high bouncy disco.
It's a 3 dayer over here as well, so the Pork Butt is waiting to go on an overnighter with apple wood, as it's the Ninjas birthday tomorrow, and she requested Apple Smoked Pork Burritos for birthday dinner. Not a bad request from an 8 yo, so I must be doing something right.
So I'm on the midnight shift on the smoker.
I should have done it last night, I would have been able to jump on the dad call.
Anyways have a great day, muchachos. Hopefully everyone is good, and Doc is getting measured up for his Scrooge McDuck outfit.

Indy 500 should be rolling about now. Will be watching that later, after I get home from work.
No spoilers, please!

I wait all year for this one event. It's my Superbowl, I guess.

Happy birthday to your DD. :)

And... impressive!

Afternoon, Gents! Afternoon, Gents, from a cold and raining Cape Cod. Supposed to be putting the finishing touched on my Memorial Day speech, but instead I'm watching the Tube of You. Well, have a good rest of the day.

Morning all.

Great race yesterday. Well... not for 2 out of 3 of my favourite drivers, but certainly for one of them.

I won't spoil it for you but I will tell you they are going round and round.
Just a couple hundred times.
That one geezer turning right was a turn up for the books....
:scared:
Only one driver turned right, but that's what you get for riding a tricycle.

Mornin', Gents! Hope everyone is having a great long weekend here the good ol' U.S. of A. Today being Memorial Day, we do have something, some people, to remember before we start up the grills and put on the burgers and dogs. That said, my speech is done, uniform pressed, and still fits, and I'll be heading out soon to meet up with everyone to get ready for the ceremony. This year's ceremony will be different in that we moved it so everyone could spread out and remain socially distant, so while the ceremony will follow the same format, we had to re-work the logistics...and this is where I get nervous. First year with the new logistics and I have two retired flag officers participating. I was able to secure a retired Navy Rear Admiral (Rabbi) to give the Invocation and Benediction, and a retired Air Force Brigadier General who now works with the Air National Guard to be the guest speaker. I know things will go well, but I'm nervous. Have a good day, Gents.

Sounds like you have nothing to worry about. :)

Nothing to worry about. Nothing at all. Actually, everything went off without a hitch. I am, however, grateful it is over. We did some things on the fly, but everything was great. Now on to the next project.

Happy Memorial Day to all our southern friends. Thanks to all who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Thanks!

Morning, gents.
Hope everyone (that this applies to) had a good 3 day weekend.
I managed to get the pool (mostly) up and running over the last few days (still need to vacuum it and balance the water).
With highs of 36C/97F coming by Friday, the timing couldn't be better.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Hope all enjoyed the long weekend and took a minute or two here in the states to remember what the day is for - thanks to those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. Brother in-law and Sister in-law in town for a long weekend to celebrate MIL 85Th. Hadn't seen them in a year and a half. Been nice to spend time with family again.

Darcy - Congrats on the Canadians comeback
Dan - Happy Birthday to the young miss

Bacon, Bourbon Cigars and Mickey Bars

Morning all. Busy day on tap, right now I'm watching the Mick Foley biography while the laundry finishes. Might go for a walk later and check in with the FIL to see if he's picked up the rest of the deck material.

Darcy - Congrats on the Canadians comeback

Always nice to watch them beat the Leafs, especially in the playoffs and with another epic Leafs collapse.

Hay y'all...
Glad to hear that folks enjoyed their time off (that is, those that had it of course).

Not much happening down this way that's worth reporting. Unless I were in the mood to complain about a passel of things, but none ya' need to be bothered with that kind'a nonsense so I'll just wish every one a fine rest of the day and hopefully a better tomorrow.
