Happy New Years, fellas.
Just woke up a couple hours ago after my last mid shift of the year. Wonder if I'll still be up to see the new one in?
tbh? Don't really care one way or the other!

Anyways...I got to talk to an old Navy buddy of mine last night. We must have talked for 2 hours, and it only seemed like 5 minutes. Man it was fun catching up and reminiscing.

Love when stuff like that happens.

what started out as a tub and vanity replacement, has turned into a complete gut out of the entire bathroom. so I've found a way to fill my time in the first few days of retirement.

But good on you for being able to do it. I wouldn't dare doing a complete gut. Most I've done is tiles and reseating the toilet.

Happy New Years Eve. I would like to think 2021 will be better, but I don't see that. I'm guessing we will be in semi-quarentine hypocrite mode until the end of March. I just hope this isn't the new normal.

Walked 5+ miles today. No real reason, just to enjoy the peace and quiet outdoors. I think I've found a new routine going forward.

Morning, Gents, and Happy New Years! Had a good day yesterday goofing off and slowly, and I do mean, slowly, getting through the backlog of opened envelopes and paperwork in my office. Most, if not all, is stuff that's already been dealt with, just didn't know what to do with it at the time, I'm horrible at filing stuff, one of my New Years Resolutions is to get organized and STAY organized. Ah, gotcha! I know teenagers who'd be embarrassed at the mere though of their parents showing up to school. That's a shame that she doesn't want to use tennis to get into a Division 1 school. She should use it to get a scholarships.

I like those old phone calls, although don't have as many anymore.

We have two division 2 schools in town, and youngest is counting on going to one of them. She has already won against some of their scholarship players in some local tournaments. I would like to see her try for more.

Evening from an overcast Westfield NB. I been busy the last few days with a bathroom renovation for my oldest DD and SIL, what started out as a tub and vanity replacement, has turned into a complete gut out of the entire bathroom. so I've found a way to fill my time in the first few days of retirement.

Congratulations on the retirement. Any plans? I still have a couple of applications/ interviews I haven't heard back from. I've also enjoyed the free time, and wouldn't mind continuing to do nothing.

Morning, Gents, and Happy New Years!!!!! Like Norm said, I'm not expecting much from this year, so we'll see. I am, however, expecting this to be my year when it comes to a job and generally turning things around (getting organized around the house and being better at getting things done so I can enjoy my photography and not worry about what I didn't get done). Outside that I'm not expecting much to change on the COVID side of things.

I didn't stay up last night, haven't in a few years, so no good stories there. Well, that's it, Gents. Have a good day and we'll chat later.

Morning all, welcome to 2021!

Hope everyone had a nice evening. DW and I were home with the cat and finished off The Mandalorian and Schitt's Creek. It was a pretty wild time.

Did stay up last night to ring it in.
It was a night of attrition, though.
The four of us watched Palm Springs (recommend) and then DW went to bed. The three of us then watched Simple Favor (recommend as well) and then youngest went to face time/call/zoom/whatever with her boyfriend. Oldest DD & I played cards until midnight. We did the 10 second countdown and that was that.
Anti-climactic which pretty much matched the year.

Walked 5+ miles today. No real reason, just to enjoy the peace and quiet outdoors. I think I've found a new routine going forward.

That sounds great. I tend to run my 5K, but I'd like to walk and take the camera with me too.

I am, however, expecting this to be my year when it comes to a job and generally turning things around

I play tennis with one of their coaches, so he's been recruiting her since 8th grade. Once she entered HS, the recruiting rules change so we don't discuss it much. Her lowest grade is 1 "b" in biology last semester, so they'll probably offer a scholarship. If we are allowed a tennis state championship this year and if she has a good showing, then she will get several offers. I told her to go wherever she wants, but I would recommend the one that gives her the most $.

The "greenbelt" - an asphalt walking path around the city - winds over some creeks, around trees, etc. It is a great way to relax.

Sounds pretty good. I jog the paths around the area. Goes along the river and through a park.

Morning, Gents! How are we doing this first Sunday morning of the new year? We've been busy in the CapeCodTenor household cleaning and organizing these past few days (trying to take advantage of the time that I have left before I start working), and progress has been made but we still have lot to do. So fulfilling our family's collective New Years Resolution is off to a good start. I've also been using the time cleaning my office to listen to Disney World vlogs. A lot of vlogs I've been listening to are a couple of years old, so these tips may or may not still be good after things get back to normal, but I'll still have lots of good information for when we plan for our trip. Either way, I'm having fun researching. Well, that's all I've got. Have a good day, Gents, and we'll chat later.
