DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Evening chaps from a embarrassingly beautiful London. It was 70f+ here today, ironically, 20 degrees higher than Cali. The bin lids are really getting behind the FB videos, so today took about 3hrs. We might have to dial them down a bit. Ohana dinner at home tonight, so Pot Stickers, Prawn and Steak with Noodles and Pineapple Salsa. Having a cheeky Brewdog IPA, so, I've got to be honest, although its not we had planned today (we were supposed to be at the Dodgers tonight), its not too shabby this side of the pond.

Me too... except my 4 day weekend got canceled and now I am working 4 midnight shifts instead.
That sucks beyond belief my friend.
chicken and ribs for the grill.
Mmmmm. Chook and Ribs. Good combo. Sides?
We got 22cm/8/5" on April 2nd/3rd and it all melted in about 2 days.
We got 2" in 2017, and then it melted pretty quickly.
I grew up in the snow belt off of Lake Erie
Had to look that one up. Every day is a school day.
You're going to bored? :lmao:
I believe its pronounced "Bor Ed". Fancy.

Have a great Good Friday fellas. Do you guys eat Hot cross Buns or is that an English thing?

We are a veritable fount of wisdom but I don't think there is any danger of anyone being Hot for Teacher.

In my younger days Mom made them. I miss them, but the nearest bakery that might have them is an hour drive, and I don't have the ambition to make them myself.

We got snow in 1977, but I'm not sure how much and how long it lasted...I wasn't actually here then, but I remember my cousins going nuts.

Just looked it up and it according to wiki, it was .2 - .5".

It also said snow flurries reached as far South as Homestead, which is further South than Miami and right before the keys start. I was stationed at Homestead AFB, but not until '82, so missed that too.

I got called into work this afternoon too, it took me 15min to plow a parking lot,but get 4hrs for the callout, so not too bad.
4hrs pay for 15 minutes... not too shabby. :)
The kids are home from school for Good Friday.
As well as Easter Monday, 2nd Easter Tuesday, Passing over Easter Wednesday, Leftover Thursday, Day ends with a "Y" Friday...

I'm still wiped from the last set.

Morning boys from another Scorchio London. Outside Cinema tonight (obviously after the movie making), and some Lamb over the fire pit. Maybe marshmallows to cap it all off.

I'm still wiped from the last set.
I'll bet, buddy.

 I hear ya. More like a room of Mr Vernons. That's 2 months I got ya for. Don't mess with the Bull.....
Just heading out to get groceries.
Stay safe my friend. Go get that TP. Eyes on the prize. Remember. Second is first loser. The enemy deserves no mercy.

Have a great whatever day it is fellas, hopefully I'll get on the call later.

Morning Guy.

Not sure what today is going to be like here, seems warm but keeps going from sun to clouds. Needs to warm up or rain to get rid of yesterday's snow.

Stay safe all.

Thank you for all the words of support guys. I started quoting everyone individually but there was a lot, so just a big thanks to you all.
I know this will pass. I'm not sure how and what my life will look like on the other side, but I just try to keep looking at the positives.

If you can afford to make it to FL, you can stay at our place free. I'll even feed you. We're 30 minutes from the beach, so even if Disney is still closed, you can enjoy the sunshine and beach.
Thanks Doc. I really appreciate that. I always thought if I ever manage to make it to a DDCC, I would reach out and see if you might have a spot for me. The beach sounds great right now. Maybe I'll say screw it and use some of my severance pay on a vacation (if it comes to that). Part of me thinks that's actually not a bad idea.

PM me if you'd like. I don't have your number. I have several of the guys on here, but not you.
Interesting that right now my cell is actually a work phone, with I may or may not have much longer. I gave up my personal cell phone a couple years ago when I got the work one. It would be nice to be more connected with you guys, I'll have to see how things work out in the next couple months.

Try khanacademy.org. They are easily the best site out there for explaining math and doing so in a way that is both easy and desirable to learn. Maybe it will help Katie.
We had her on Khan academy. It did seem good.
But like I mentioned, she hates school, and getting her to do much of anything was a struggle.
The local school put out all their math lesson plans online and we've had her working through them.
It was too much to try getting her to do both.
Khan looked good, but we figured if it's one or the other, keeping her on track with the local school curriculum was best.

Went to pick up a few groceries this AM. We have the essentials available but some limited quantities and not the usual selection. Could only get a small pork roast for Easter but the asparagus is up in the garden so we will have that as well.

Hang in there, Jeff.

Might not be a bad idea. :)

Morning chaps from a warm and cloudy London. Happy Easter to everyone, the kids wanted to full English this morning, we very rarely have it, so Sausage,Bacon, Egg, Home Made Hash Browns, Beans and Toast was had by all. Now the back room smells like a diner. Lady K is trying to combat it with candles. She's put so many on it looks like John Lennon was shot in our kitchen. It was fun chatting last night, and Mikey's ham looks particularly good.

Part of me thinks that's actually not a bad idea.
If you fancy, there is a Lilo Murphy bed in the Poly in Jan with your name on it.

Have a great day guys.

Happy Easter guys, such as it is.
The one day of the year I can eat chocolate for breakfast and not feel so guilty about it.

If you fancy, there is a Lilo Murphy bed in the Poly in Jan with your name on it.
Nice offer...I would love to stay at the Poly
I was hoping we would get to spoon though 487408

I noticed you guys were on that zoom call. I would have liked to join up and chat. But I'm still working from home now (12 hour shifts for the next 10 days). Maybe the timing will line up better for me another time.
