DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
On my phone, which makes it smaller, but what am I looking at? I zoomed in as much as I could and it looks like maybe the guy is standing on one of the nozzles and making it shoot water from where it shouldn't??

That's my son and he does have his foot on one of the nozzles. I guess he thought he could stop the water.

Top O the Mornin and Happy Thursday Eve Dads! Not sure if I am enjoying the NHL playoffs with all the lower seeds moving on or if I'm annoyed by it  Thinking about having groceries delivered to resort, nothing major just basics like water, coffee, soda, snacks and some quick grab and go breakfast items. We have been doing a grocery stop for a long time now and it's just a bit of pain getting that stuff in a car service with luggage. And some of the sites, like Prime that deliver don't look that much more expensive plus Prime can replenish and bring more stuff within 2 hours of order if you need more during the week. I know Disney recently implemented a $6 delivery charge if that have to receive, store and then deliver to your room but what is $6 when staying there for 9 or 10 days. Has anybody used this type of service in the past?
!

I've not done it, but we've driven every year but one, and the one we flew, we did a rental from Sanford. So, it wasn't really a big deal to stop. If we flew into Orlando and did ME, then I would to the delivery fee.

That's my son and he does have his foot on one of the nozzles. I guess he thought he could stop the water.

Maybe that's his mutant power and he's the next group of Avengers. It would be nice for the wallet.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Friday has gotten here so get ready to enjoy a break, a drink, grilling and family or whatever your weekend plans are. DS is home and settling in and got a part time internship gig (paid) doing design work for a guy that renovates older houses in Nashville. His major is Interior Architecture so this will be good experience for him. He is also going to do part time work for the same lady in neighborhood that owns her own Disney travel agency. Good part time work of 10-20 hours a week combined with flexibility so that he can still enjoy the summer break. All have a great weekend
OK everyone do your Friday dance but for the love of God don't post any videos.

Have a good one all.
Agree, no dancing Dad videos :crazy2: Have a good one yourself Darcy.

Hey Dads, well this weekend marks the third of three dance competition weekends. NO NOT ME!!! No videos shall be posted.
Youngest DD will be involved, started this morning (yes, a day off school) and will go until Sunday night. I will not be anywhere near the place and act as chauffeur only. Pizza and wings on the menu for me until Sunday.

This Saturday is May the 4th and a local science centre is doing a Star Wars night. Showing A New Hope plus the local Sci Fi group will have costumes, droid builders there. Since my girls will be otherwise engaged in the dance competition, I'm actually thinking of going. Just not sure I want to go by myself.

Not sure if I am enjoying the NHL playoffs with all the lower seeds moving on or if I'm annoyed by it
I've stopped watching. I have little interest in the teams that are left. :(

Has anybody used this type of service in the past?
I've never used it. My last trip we had a rental car and went to Walmart the first night to pick up water and breakfast food. We decided we would rather have Mickey waffles and really didn't enjoy the muffins and cereal bars, so I don't think I would bother with it again.

Sounds great. Nice that he will be kept busy this summer.

We've used Garden Grocer (I think that's the name) a couple of times without much problem. We would do it again.

Where is Dan when you need him?

  1. Nicely done on not sitting through the recitals
  2. Good call on the wings and pizza, easy to be delivered and perfect for couch / tv viewing
  3. May the 4th - sounds good if you go and it sucks ya just head out but if they are showing a New Hope on a movie screen, you should go. DS and I attended an exclusive D23 event during Star Wars Celebration at a theater where they showed Return of the Jedi on the big screen. Very cool since DS had never seen any of the original trilogy at a theater
  4. NHL, I know everybody likes the upset now and then but when they don't have big hockey markets like Montreal, Detroit, Chicago, NY Rangers & LA make it at all and then teams like Toronto and Pittsburgh get knocked out early it isn't good for the sport IMO. Plus when one of the most exciting players in McDavid is never in the playoffs.........
  5. On the food in the room, we are with you I'm eating good stuff as we just have the staples of water, coffee some snacks and donuts to hold DS over until he gets a Mickey Waffle or gian cinnamon role in the parks.

I think it is always good when Toronto gets knocked out early, even better when they don't make it.

Sounds like a great setup for the summer.

Pizza and wings on the menu for me until Sunday.

Doing the weekend right! :rotfl:

I've stopped watching. I have little interest in the teams that are left. :(

My team hasn't been relevant since about 2012, so it's hard for me to pay attention to the playoffs too.

Sorting out a 40 store refit program on your side of the pond mate. I’m still at work.

Ugh. Hope you aren't there too much longer!

I just did a new dance video with me.in the rhinestone thong. I'm editing it for SIZE to get it posted.

Good for him. I think we should be able to take summers off as well.

I'm still available for that highly paid employment. Put in a good word for me. The only qualifications I have are playing with legos.

All right gents, Dan is otherwise occupied so I’ll take the Friday night duties.

I’m calling it. Everyone out. Over to the Rose and Crown for a Welsh Dragon. Last one out takes Merida home and let me tell ya, when she wants to ride her hairy beast, she’s not talking about her horse Angus.

Evening fellas. Come home to a quiet house as the kids are tucked in as is Lady K. She went out drinking last night, came home worse for wear on the last overhead train out to the East of London, which is full of those who were last out of the pubs, and is therefore affectionately named "The Vomit Comet".

I can't give you a job mate if you keep calling it Legos.
Ugh. Hope you aren't there too much longer!
Ouch, not good on a Friday evening. I hope you get finished soon.
Cheers boys. Don't feel too bad for me, the UK has Monday off, hence me staying back a bit to get stuff done. I also got to order some cool 3D models for a store near a famous Florida theme park.....

Well played. Is her horse Ginger as well?
