DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Well...just when I thought the weekend already was going to suck too much...

On the way to Atlanta to pack more carp. Battery light(don't have a voltage gauge on van) came on. Pulled over. Can't see anything from a visual inspection. Wouldn't start back up. Waiting on tow truck. They said somewhere between when I called (about 8:30) and 10:20. Looking like the latter if not later. :sad2: The only saving grace is I have AAA, so it won't cost me, but won't be getting to house until after midnight. For someone who gets up at 5am, more suckage. So tomorrow, instead of packing, I'll be working on my car and most of my tools are in FL.

Well, I'm really pissed now.

I called them back at around 10:15 since I hadn't gotten a call from anyone. They said it wasn't assigned. Although it was assigned with They gave me the 10:20 time. Evidentally, the wrecker driver or company declined it because it was too far and late at night. It wouldn't have been that late if they'd taken the call at first.

Anyway...supposedly they finally found someone, but they're 40 miles away and have to gas up first.

So...looks like I'll be getting there eventually (2am or later). Having gotten up at 5am, I'm almost like one of pkondz's double shifts.

I used to recommend AAA. After this, not sure they'll get any more of my money. Supposedly 24 hour assistance....unless of course it's a long distance (what I pay extra for) or inconvenient.

Wish I could figure out how to sue them for breach of contract. I kept my end of the bargain by paying them, but they didn't keep their end.

That really sucks. Hope it has improved and is an easy fix. I've had AAA for over 35 years and every year I wonder if I should renew it. The one time I really needed it they did the same thing to me that they did to you.

First volleyball tournament of the high school season this weekend, two matches later today. I hope the head coach will let me play today, I look like I'm 17 right?....

Sure, lets go with that.

Thanks guys. I eventually got home and now I'm awake. I'm not as mad as I was last night, but still a long way from happy. At least it wasn't multiple days like with Rob, but that was due to weather not incompetence.

Considering I've paid them for 30+ years and had to call them maybe 4 times before, I'm thinking financially, it will be better to just pay for towing myself and aggravation wise I'll be much better as well.

I guess the thing I'm most upset about...

When I really needed the help, they dropped the ball.

Good morning from an overcast Westfield NB. DW and I went SUV shopping last night, we now have a Jeep Trailhawk Elite. :car:

Well, I'm really pissed now.
That's even worse, :furious: hope you get some rest.

DW had her arm checked on Thursday, she needs a cast for about another month. She got through doing her report cards so hopefully now she will be able to let it rest and heal.

Hoping it heals quickly.

Perhaps if you give the Coach a few shots of the 58% whiskey, might blur their vision enough so you pass :lmao::lmao:

(let's see who has a baby nine months from now)

I'll ask my wife if I can borrow mi balls for 3 minutes, however, it's highly unlikely.

I always save you a beer mate. Safe in the knowledge that unless I buy your airline ticket, you will never collect. So 2 beers for me.

One day I'll show up. Live in fear of that.

Yeah, we do AAA as well. It never surprises me when people get put of work. Glad you made it home.

Hmm... you may be right. Find out how much a garage would cost to tow you and compare.

I guess the thing I'm most upset about...

Yeah... I get that.

I'm really not sure if this is a typo or a local colloquialism. Either way, not sure what you're trying to say?

Congrats on the new Jeep.

I tried the #13 Classic 43% last night. It was pretty good so I think I will be keeping the rest for myself.

Top ‘O the Mornin’ Dads!

Glad to hear you got home ok Doc and Darcy good to hear to wife’s on the mend. Enjoy the volleyball.

Chilling out today, nice steak dinner tonight. That’s about it - cheers!
I would say I'd drive up and join you, but gotta replace an alternator first and wouldn't want to actually need AAA again, since I know how reliable they

Aren't!

Ain’t that the way that life goes down?
Sorry about the poor service man. Go get em.

Very nice. Congrats

Hope springs eternal, my man...

Kebabs on the grill, and now we are watching Avengers Age of Ultron.

With maybe a bucket of Cadbury’s.

Have a great evening chaps, I might see some of you in the Ball chat later.

Not sure what you mean here... preeeeeeety sure it’s not good though.

I could throw in a broken lamp or record player to sweeten the deal.

Ooooooohhh.

Leaving for the boat ride tomorrow. I may stop by to post. If you hear about any drunken shenanigans in Mexico, odds are it's me. I got the drink package. See you all on the other side.

Zerfonics. People working hard to get out of work.

Sounds terrific. Ball chat.
