Freezing rain and ice makes such a mess. You sound like my wife with the salt. She loves putting that stuff down. I’ll buy three or four 20kg bags at a time and it lasts her a month

My house overlooks the city so we look out the bedroom window at midnight and watch everyone shoot off their backyard fireworks


Sounds good to me. I’ve never gone this time of year. It would be a nice break from winter.

80 kg for a month sounds more like what is expect.

Glad the only salt I need to worry about is in the ocean (or on my food). Not sure if Atlanta has gotten snow thus year, but I know its been significantly colder and I can't say I miss that at all.

Still on vacation for me so not much on tap today, haircut and pick up some cat food. It's going to be a big day!

I hope all you that have returned to work make it through this last Monday of the year. Hopefully your boss will send you home early.

Yes, I know I'm late to the party. Closed on the house (FINALLY) on Friday and have spent most of the weekend finding stuff for it.

The boys picked up a 69-50 win to claim the title. It was a typical of the games between them this year, stays close for the first half and the good guys pull away in the second half. That was the 3rd win over them this year but the first in their gym. The school is in a small town and they are huge supporters of their basketball teams; there were people hanging from the rafters in there yesterday.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Just gonna chill today in preparation of tonight. Been hanging with our soccer parent friends more than usual over the holidays which has been nice and seeing everyone’s kids that are around this time of year. Congrats to Declan on the big hoops tourney win and to Norm for confusing the heck out of us with his Christmas decorations.

Hope you all enjoy the last Sunday of 2018. College football is down to 2 teams and the NFL is about to get rid of a bunch (cough...cough...the Eagles...cough...cough).

It's the time of year when I start to pay a little bit of attention to football.

I don't know much about college football, but I was glad to see our buddy CJ's Gators won, just wish he was here to see it.

I'm a free agent when it comes to NFL allegiance. Who am I cheering for this year? Da Bears?

Holy crap! Then again... betting you get just a bit more ice than we do.

Yeah, we don't get the extreme cold often like you, but we get this terrible freeze-thaw cycle. Like last night, it was +1C and the streets and driveways melted. Then this morning -6C so all the water froze up. DW hates ice so she coats the driveway most mornings.

It's a nice quiet New Year, just me, DW and DD11 - oldest DD is off to some party of course, but most 18 year olds would I suppose.
A night at home is a lot warmer than going to see the city's fireworks.

And DW woke up this AM and decided it was time to put up the Christmas decorations. I wanted them up so I put my foot down ... into my shoe ... and put up all the Christmas decorations.

Sounds like you put your foot down the same way I do.

While I've watched more Premier League than NFL this season, I'm glad I was able to catch the Browns vs Ravens game and watch Lamar Jackson run. He was amazing to watch at UL. Just don't ever listen to a press conference.

She made a few... Well, we call them toques or tuques, but you might call them beanies.
Whatever.
She asked if I wanted one.
I told her "Yes, but! I don't want any ol' hat. I want it this long and stripes and a big pom pom on the end!"
Seven hours of work later, she delivered.



I'm kinda really in love with it.

This is probably my last check in for 2018, it has been a pleasure again, bantering with all of you. As I said last year, this is like a friendly bar to take the pressure off real life. We lost a good one this year CJ. You are truly missed on here. All of my little crowd in London wish you all and your families all the very best in 2019.
