DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Wishing everyone a happy holiday weekend and hopefully an extended weekend for most of you. Dan asked me to handle the calling of it so here we go..........
That's it, I'm calling the day so as it seems to be a favorite spot for several, see you all at Boardwalk Leaping Horse Libations. CJ will save the seats and have a round of Manhattans waiting for us. Last one there spends the weekend with Meg from Hercules and If there's a prize for rotten judgement, she's already won that so what ya got to loose?

Happy Wednesday. Started the day with a fresh Krispy Kreme. Life is good.
Not a bad start to the morning.....................
Lots of rain here as well. Stay safe. Glad to hear your boy is making it in. How about your daughter?
No on DD, too hard with him getting leave and her work schedule for just a couple of days, it's a 10 hour drive from DC. Besides, we got to see em for a week a couple of weeks ago. Still hard on though, especially on DW, as holidays have always been big for our family.
Hello gents, I'm still alive, just another busy couple weeks with work and personal life. Looks like I've missed about 10 pages of intellectual and stimulating banter that I likely won't have time to get through. I hope you are all well.

If anyone remembers, oldest DD is the female lead in her high school's production of "Footloose". They performed 4 shows over the past weekend - we went to opening and closing night. I have to say she did a fantastic job and I was a bit proud of her. This was the one where the lead actor broke his leg a week before the show in February, so they postponed until now. He was pretty amazing too, considering he performed a show about dancing while on crutches.
I don't think I can post a video directly here, but I'm tagged in a video on FB for those who are on that.
Below is a picture of us after the opening show. You'll notice the 80's appropriate hair, make up, and prom dress!

Congrats and saw the video that someone's "hubby took not a very good video" :rotfl:DD was terrtific, you should be proud.

Opening Day today and I didn't even notice. Cubs are in town taking on the Marlins.

I'm in.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz...Zzzz...Zzzzzz!!!

Wait.... What? Is it morning already?

What day did you say it was?
What month? What year!!!?

Kind of feel like that today.

Didn't start to well, 1st pitch HR, 3 hit batsman and walked in 2 in the top of the first. They've battled back though - 4 - 4 in the 3rd.

Getting excited, headed to toward the Fort on Friday, stop over at Jekyll Island then on to FtW Saturday !

Very cool. Years ago we stayed at the Fort and loved it. It was so long ago that River Country was still open. Have fun.

And that is their starting pitcher. Projected over/under wins for the season is 65. Ouch.

Good news....echo and stress test both came back perfectly normal. Heading out to celebrate with a Philly cheese steak.

Way to go champ.

I just realized I have a dumb question (which should fit right in).

We have never done the mini-golf, but DW and I are leaning towards trying it in June. We are flying in, not getting a car. How do I get to the golf? I'm assuming we can take the bus to someplace close and then walk?

Yes. I think you take a Swan or Dolphin bus to get close to Fantasia Gardens, and the Blizzard Beach bus to get to the Winter Summerland course.

I'd be lookin' to whomp sombudy's rump for that one.
(there are some gags that one just ought not do.)

Kind of feel like that today.
Understandable...
My problem is that it went on for dang near four months.

May I not be letting things get like that again anytime soon.

:welcome: Randall will be around to give you your number.
Got one already, thanks.
I just need to be dusted off a mite.
(but I did deserve that)

That is good to hear.
I ain't attempted to go back the 40 pages I've missed, but I did note that issue with some serious concern.

Heading out to celebrate with a Philly cheese steak.
Also good to see that a minor medical blip has had no effect on your sense of self-preservation.

Everone else has already answered your question quite effectively, but let me offer one more caveat...
If you use the buses to go to Winter Summerland, remember that they stop going by Blizzard Beach around sundown, so hit that one in the morning or you may be walking.

So y'all are saying it IS possible?

Thanks guys!

Saw that on FB. Well done.

Better than the grilled cheese I had for lunch.

.

Grilled cheese sounds good as well. Grilled cheese on Krispy Kreme?

Have I really been asleep that long?

Looks just like you.

That's the way to handle it. Glad all is well.

Or, stop off at the Boardwalk for a lobster roll before walking down past Swan & Dolphin. Fantasia has 2 courses. We did the character side. It was a lot of fun.

I just want to hear him give the Steve Martin speech to the lady behind the rental counter.
An effin Bentley, an effin Jag, an efffin Rolls, an effin Morgan. 4 effin wheels and a crappy electrical system! (the British version)
