Happy Wednesday. The new job seems to be going well, but I have had to stop tennis on Wednesdays & Thursdays. I thought about going to the gym this morning, but just couldn't talk myself into it. Maybe this afternoon, but doubtful.

Weather has turned cold up here again. Right after an ice storm hit the province last Tuesday, there are still parts of the province without power. I think there is one town that had replace close to 4000 hydro poles.

4,000??? I had no idea it was that many!

It's always terrible to be without power but this time of year is very, very bad.

That's a solid plan right there, I may join ya. See, DW is heading to Denver Friday for a girl cousins annual get together. Yes you guys catch on quick, I get to bach it on Super Bowl weekend. Hockey (though Hawks are killing me lately), video games, movies and football. No to do list and no wedding crapola

Over the kids spring break 3/11 - 3/18. She is using the break to see her future husband as it will be the last time they will get to see each other until wedding time so can't really blame her.

I won't be alone. You'll have to share the house with three other women. That might be a scary enough reason to go elsewhere. Have fun Spring Break. Until school is out, we have to wait until April for my daughters spring break. I wish they had scheduled it during college spring break.

Next time we do a 10 day trip, you are invited. Heck you could even come on this trip. Just get your way there, pay for a room, tickets, food and souvenirs and you are good.

No electricity does stink.

As for the trip, I plan to live in a camper on CJ's front yard. You really think I'm buying a ticket, travel, and food to stay with you? C'mon man!

Sounds like a good weekend! As for the Super Bowl, I have to confess that I really don't follow the NFL at all, but like many I pay some attention to the Super Bowl. I'll miss it this weekend on account of being on a plane throughout the entire game. But on the bright side, I am finally getting home for a month after my work overseas.

I'm not a fan on the subpar game. Too many superbowls have been blowouts, played on an extra week of rest, with an extra long half time, power outages, etc. So, I just enjoy the food and family time.

Morning guys, not much to report except the grant app. did not go over well with the powers that be. Tried to argue but what do I know. Rewrites in the work. Chances are lessened they will get the money and you know whose fault it would be.

Paid off the trip yesterday, now it's real. So looking forward to visiting the World!

Right there with ya! Even though we were there at Christmas and this will be 3rd visit in 10 months for me & DS, I am really pumped for the upcoming trip. It's just gonna be me, DW & DS and we are doing a full 7 nights this trip and we have not done a full week in a long time. Guess this trip has a more laid back traditional trip vibe to it. Too bad DD could not have done one last just the 4 of us trip but she is heading to San Diego to be with fiance during spring break.

Too bad about your daughter but it looks like a fun trip. I like the week long trips. Go to the parks when I want, chill at the resort or some other place on property the rest of the time.

Happy Tuesday. Did the shopping for the Superbowl food fest. Patriots are going to win it, so it's not much of a game. But, the menu includes queso dip and chips, homemade guacamole, tacos, lemon cake, and Cabo Wabo tequila. Lots of lemons and limes to prepare.

I'll be there. Maybe we do the pregame at the bourbon bar.

So, W-2s finally available at work at the end of the month, so I stayed home this AM to file them. Bad news and worse news. I get a $300 state refund negated by owning the Feds $905. A $600 payment is bad enough, however, Turbo Tax now requires me to all Driver License # before filing. I texted my wife, and am now sitting here waiting because she can't break away from work to give me a 2 minute call to finish.

It did only take a couple hours to get thru everything as I go slow and triple check everything. Now, waiting, waiting.... I guess if they had told me they needed that at the beginning, I could have already made the request.

I'll be there. Maybe we do the pregame at the bourbon bar.

So, W-2s finally available at work at the end of the month, so I stayed home this AM to file them. Bad news and worse news. I get a $300 state refund negated by owning the Feds $905. A $600 payment is bad enough, however, Turbo Tax now requires me to all Driver License # before filing. I texted my wife, and am now sitting here waiting because she can't break away from work to give me a 2 minute call to finish.

Same thing happened to me. I know it's all related to identity theft and it's for my own good, but a little heads up would have been nice. Such a PITA.

Our part of the province didn't really get hit like that. I left town just as it started but DW says we didn't lose power, they just had no school for two days. The north-east part of province got nailed with ice. I think as of this morning there are down to about 5000 customers still without power.

Happy Friday. It has been a long week, but it started to get together yesterday, trying to work in this new job. Still didn't make it to the gym, and I'll have to figure out that new routine. On the bright side, I have tennis in a few and really looking forward to that.

Oh, and remember how I told you all that a boy from church & tennis has a crush on my daughter? Well, I guess it's their first date on Saturday as they get to play tennis together on one court while his dad and I play tennis on another court.

And, I don't think they verified any of the info. I submitted them last night (around 5) and the Federal was immediately accepted, state this morning. When I printed out the returns, the info was one the sheet. But, if there is no automatic verification, an id theft hacker could just enter any random number.

That's funny about Spike running it all day. It's not terrible, but we already pay so much in taxes and it is just wasted. The worst president in history has to be Woodrow Wilson because of the income tax amendment. And, if people didn't have these taxes auto taken out of their check each week and had to write a check or doll out cash, then there would actually be a revolution.

I moved my withholdings last year and still ended up with this difference. Next year I can try to deduct the Picasso painting in the trunk of my car that was lost when the car was totaled. The insurance company didn't believe me, but maybe the government will buy it.

Regional tournament time for DS and his teammates. Won the first game this morning pretty easily, play their second tonight at 6:30. So I decided to "work" from home today.
