DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Hey Chicago, waddya say?

Morning boys from a crisp morning in London, on my way to Manchester.

Stayed up and watched the game, so I've had about 2.5 hours sleep. Totally worth it.

Congrats Mike, I imagine the North side is pretty much taking the day off today.

Morning fellas! I know y'all are getting tired of hearing me brag, but we've got just TWO DAYS until we go home! Excited is an understatement.

Picture is below but can't do it justice, obviously. Already answered by @pkondz but to elaborate, they are little bits of heaven - coffee flavoured cream sandwiched between wafers and chocolate covered. As you may be able to tell from the bilingual wrapper, they are "un gouter leger, delicieux". Too bad you guys can get them south of the 49th. Maybe we need to start a DIS Dads candy exchange??

Now that sounds tasty! Wonder if they are sold in the Canada Pavilion? 'Cause I'll be there in two days and can get myself some of these treats.

I stayed up past my bedtime as well, not as much as you, but you're right, it was TOTALLY worth it. 108 year drought is over! Congrats Cubs fans!

It's the best way to do the boards...while at work

Man Law!

Morning gents. The roads are dry! Got to take the bike out for the first time in weeks. Felt great... if cold (2C/35F)
Should be more pleasant going home later... provided it doesn't rain. (30% chance)

So the back is healed up, then? I hope?

My life consists of appropriately times movie quotes.

Hey, I knew we had something in common.

Yes, as campaigning for 2020 starts Nov 9. :furious:

Please shoot me now.

One way or the other, something tells me that tonight's game will be one for the ages...

That really was a great game. I tried to stay for the whole thing, but once they announced a rain delay after the 9th inning I couldn't last any longer. East Coast always gets screwed by prime time sports.

In any case, it was a fitting end. Congrats to all the Cubs fans.

Anyone else finding it really cold this morning? ;)

Congrats to the Cubs and all the long suffering fans.

Happy Thursday. Looks like Back to the Future movie was off by a year. We should see hoverboards and flying cars soon enough. :lmao:

Wow! Crying like a baby for my Pa that loved the Cubs! CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN! One last time this season
]

I thought about you during the game. Congrats to the Cubs and their fans.

.

That's rough. I'm dragging this AM, but better than 2.5 hours.

Please shoot me now.
.

Contract accepted. :lmao:

.

The curse is as dead as that goat. :lmao:

Wait until the Nov 8 election here and then you will really feel that cold air.

Congrats to you and all Cubs fans. It was great to see the outpouring of emotion over finally winning was nice to see.

I didn't even wait for the rain delay. 9th inning ended and it was midnight. The game had the feel of one that might go 18 innings so I just went to bed.

'Morning all...
Another day, another fifty-seven cents...

Anything interesting happen while I wasn't paying attention?

I'm thinking that isn't necessarily a typo...
I can live with that one...

Coffee flavoured chocolate bar.
I have sent several to the States.
Perk of winning the contests on my TRs.
Sounds right tasty...
Don't see myself winning one though.
I'll have to check and see if maybe "World Market" carries 'em.

That sounds like a great campaign platform. Free candy for everyone. :lmao:
Too bad I can't run for any office.
I haven't done anything heinous enough to qualify.

Really? I knew the others were Canadian, but Caramilk and Aero too? Wow.
Yep... never heard of any of 'em.
Well, except for "Smarties", if those are the same thing up there as the little rolls of sweet-tart knock-offs that show up in all the kids Halloween bags down here, then I do know what they are.

Can only imagine the scene at your house.
Congrats to the Cubs and their fans.

Of course, now that they've broken "the curse", what will their identity be?

Hmmm, sounds nice but just a tad nippley.

It was really fun when I was driving home and being hit with the ice pellets that were coming down.

Stoopid weather forecaster.

::yes::

Win what?

Morning fellas! I know y'all are getting tired of hearing me brag, but we've got just TWO DAYS until we go home! Excited is an understatement.

Understandable.
Anytime you get to within a week, you're allowed to post every day with an update to the less fortunate.

Now that sounds tasty! Wonder if they are sold in the Canada Pavilion? 'Cause I'll be there in two days and can get myself some of these treats.

Don't think so. At least I didn't see any.

So the back is healed up, then? I hope?

Getting there. Still sore, but I can do most things now.

Well, except for "Smarties", if those are the same thing up there as the little rolls of sweet-tart knock-offs that show up in all the kids Halloween bags down here, then I do know what they are.

Nope.
Your Smarties are our Rockets.
Our Smarties are similar to your chocolate M&Ms.

Interesting...
Do they not sell M&Ms up that way, or do y'all just see the Nestle version as being better?

Do you eat the red ones last?
(Any Canadian would get this... not sure if you will.)
Well, let us in on it as well.
I suspect it's quite different from the US superstition about the green M&Ms

We have M&Ms too... but everyone knows that Smarties taste better.

Case in point. We bought multi packs of chocolate bars for Halloween. Lots of left over chocolate in different varieties. DW says "We'll keep the good stuff. I'll bring the M&Ms (peanut) to work. Nobody eats those."

It's the smarties song!

::yes::

At work so can't see it, but I'm sure I can sing it in my head.

Just mail those down here to me then.
Everyone in my house prefers them over the plain ones, but it truth the real trick is to find the dark-chocolate version. Nearly all milk chocolate candies and bars are entirely too sweet for me but any type of added nuts helps cut that sickening sweetness.

Does anybody know the whereabouts of Steve Bartman?
I watched a documentary the other week, I think they said he's still in Chicago, but obviously keeps a low profile
Really? I knew the others were Canadian, but Caramilk and Aero too? Wow.
Im gonna claim Aero. That was a Rowntrees bar from the UK. It was repackaged as Nestle when they took them over.

Why don't you go ahead and mail 810+ to me and then I will mail out to all the guys with the next dues shipment.
Hmmm...seems like I've heard that line before :rotfl2:

After that facebook fiasco, let's not consider nipples.
Oh right, we don't want to go there again. Still trying to get the mental images out of my head the first time.

If women want to wear them in public, then more power to them. But, don't complain about others looking. Now, they have the absolute right to not be accosted physically or verbally in anyway, regardless of what they wear. With all that said, I'd like for my daughter to be more modest.
I agree completely. I think for my daughter it's one of those "trying to fit in" things. Despite the yoga pants, she does seem to be more modest than some of her friends, at least when it comes to the top half of her. She covers up there at least. Some of her friends look like they're 25 year olds hitting the clubs on a Friday night. I understand the pressure of wanting to fit in, but I still don't like it.

Fantastic win, congrats to the Cubs.

Looks like Back to the Future movie was off by a year. We should see hoverboards and flying cars soon enough.
I forgot about that! I'm sure the hoverboards are just around the corner.

At work so can't see it, but I'm sure I can sing it in my head.
It's in my head now. I haven't decided if I like that or not.
