DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
While walking uphill in the snow?

Both ways.

:lmao:

And no vegetarians hovering around the bacon taking up space.
Makes it easier to get to.

DW took oldest dd bra shopping at Victoria Secrets this AM. While I at least didn't have to go, DW still had to text me about it.

For extra fun, tell your DD that you posted about it on the DIS...

I did make it home alive from tennis.

On with the meds!!!

I had dd pick one out a couple of months ago when we were shopping for other things, since SWMBO hadn't gotten it done yet.:sad2: I think she got a couple of sizes too large, but i wasn't about to get into a discussion with her or the saleslady about it.

:scared:. I think Norm has too much estrogen in his house to take on that challenge. He would find himself in CJ's lawn sooner than he planned.

Morning Men.

Sounds like you are all having a great weekend bra shopping and entertaining your MIL's. :rotfl2:

Been a busy weekend. We were away Friday and Saturday for a volleyball tournament with DS. Another win for the Lions, still undefeated on the year. It continues to be a frustrating season DS as he tries to figure out the coaches. He did get to start a couple of sets and then started the first two sets of the final. The weird thing is he get to play more when the coach from his club team is running the show. This is the same guy that just about destroyed him last fall and would never play him. I've coached for many years and I still can't figure these two out.

Today is the final try-out for the basketball provincial team, 4 hours this afternoon to see if he plays on the provincial team or a regional team. And to finish things off, my soccer season kicks off tonight. kind of cool up here today, hopefully it's not too cold tonight.

Morning all. Cool morning but sunny. Almost halfway through my work stretch.

Impressive!

Morning all! 3 weeks until our 5y anniversary. The traditional list says that the gift should be wood. Any ideas???

Happy Sunday. Fed the monsters pancakes and eggs this AM. After Religious Ed, DW wants me to go to the gym with her. I wonder if I can put a skateboard down on the tread mill? :lmao:

She knows most of what I post here and on FB. I usually tell her beforehand.

Good luck to Declan and to you. Make sure you stretch, you know, so you don't pull a .... Well, everything. :rotfl:

Anything Disney related. I used to get DW charms for her bracelet. She stopped wearing the bracelet and I stopped buying her charms.

Well, if you've got wood at least one of you will be happy.

:rolleyes1

::yes::

And both will be if it's done right.

I used to buy DW flowers but she doesn't want them sent to work and if I bring them home the cat eats them so no more flowers.

So the 5th anniversary is wood......is it too early to pre-order a nice, custom-made casket? ;)

Happy Sunday Dads. Just can't ever count the Blackhawks out but they can stop taking years off my life with all this getting behind in series and game before roaring back.
What's worse than MIL stopping by for dinner?

:lmao::rotfl::lmao:

Once the cat died, I started bring flowers home again. Only once a month and $5 bundle. I bring home a bottle of her favorite wine as well. She likes Kendall Jackson (Cabernet Sauvignon or Zinfandel).

You must get a lot of eyerolls.

With teen and pre-teen daughters, triple the eye rolls.

It gets worse, don't you do the laundry?

I hadn't thought of that one. Maybe DW has already worked that one out with her.

Good evening everyone!

Just spent the afternoon building a giant Disney toy monorail layout with my two younger kids. DS13 has been collecting toy monorail track for a quite a while now. (You now how it is... every time he sets it up, there are a few extra pieces. "If only I had a few more straights, I could use up these remaining curves." So he gets a pack of straight tracks for his vacation souvenir. Then on the next trip, it's the opposite, I need a few more curves to be able to use these two extra straights. A vicious cycle. :rotfl2:)

Anyway, DS built the track layout, and then DD8 arranged her toy castles and stuff around it. And then we rigged up a LEGO platform for a small GoPro (Hero Session) to ride along the track with a POV perspective. I think the resulting video turned out pretty cool, but more importantly, I had a blast "creating magic" with the kids today! Hopefully this will tide us over until our next real monorail ride. :cool1:

Fantastic @MarbleBob! Well done with the layout, even had the big Epcot loop in there! The castles and surrounding details were great. Did I notice a Festival of Fantasy parade in there?! :)

Monday morning at the dentist office. But, it means I get to burn another sick day. We have just had amazing weather these past few days.

That is really cool. I had envisioned multiple monorail lines in a large setup. But, DW said no to the budget needed to get it all going. I do have one line, CR, Castle, Space Mountain, DHS former Hat, and the Epcot golf ball. Maybe after I retire and my dds move out of the house, then I can buy more toys. :lmao:

Top O the Mornin Dads! Big game 7 for Hawks tonight - GO HAWKS!

Very cool - thanks for sharing.

Morning Gents!

Made it through our exhibition season for soccer, 2-2 draw. A bit stiff this morning but not too bad.

DS finished his tryouts yesterday for the basketball provincial team; we know he is in the running but don't find out until Wednesday.

Hope you all have a great Monday, I'm going to watch that cool monorail video again.

Morning, or closer to afternoon I guess. Saw free dining is out, have to check to see if our dates align with it, but I think our discount for the room is going to be cheaper than free dining, but need to run the numbers and check it out, if it is even available during our trip dates, at all. :)

Thanks for the feedback, guys :-)

My son is just young enough to have missed out when the plethora of toy monorail stuff was still available... back when they had the Poly, Grand Floridian, TTC switch, Haunted Mansion, Dumbo, etc. I remember when they used to have a giant display at Once Upon a Toy in Disney Springs (I still have a hard time calling it that now.) Kicking myself for not stocking up on those items back then, as they go for big bucks on eBay these days...

Oh, and at risk of getting in trouble with @budamacdvcr, "Let's go Blues!!!" :hippie:

One of the many pleasures of single dad hood was bringing your teen daughter to the mall and shop for clothes. I would rather have my fingernails pulled out. Went into VS once for about 5 minutes. That was all I could take so I told her when she was ready, come get me outside so I can pay.

Congrats to DS.
