DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning Paul!

Back to reality today.....and reality SUCKS!

Plane landed last night to "light snow". I get out on the roads and can't see 15 feet in front of me and resort to following a semi truck to have any kind of clue where I'm going.

A 1 inch forecast has so far provided 4 inches and it's still snowing.

My 1hr and 45 min drive took 2.5 hours.

I wanna go back to Florida.

Happy Monday guys! :thumbsup2

We all feel pretty bad for you...don't we?:confused3

Happy Monday.

Sorry I missed a few days. Computer issues and then really busy this weekend. DD had a great time playing at the TD Garden this weekend. We got to play the game, had floor seats for the high school game and then got to tour the locker rooms and the press room. I'll try to get pictures up not the next few days, need to get them off the computer.

DD hot the game winning foul shot with 3 seconds left this weekend to propel her team to 6-1 on the season. That is her 3rd game winning shot of the season.:thumbsup2 She has some really good games and as always with young players a few tough ones. This game was tough offensively, but when it was needed came through. Really proud of her effort.

Congrats to all of the Dads, spouses and kids that ran this weekend. Travel safe.

36 in Boston when only a high of 27 here in Nashville - WT......... The TD Garden things sounds great, have a blast. DW was not as big on Disney as the rest of us back in the day. I would catch some noise about "another WDW trip" (:scared1:) but when DS got upset at her about not wanting to go to the family's favorite place it all changed, but when I said the same thing........ Enjoy that DD listening to you while you can cause as much as me and DD have a solid relationship, there are some things they just won't listen to you on as evident by her not only having a BF, but having to take him to DaWorld for his first visit......................

I'm pretty sure the only way DD has a boyfriend invade our trip to Disney is if he is paying for me to go.:lmao::lmao: Or upon marriage and providing grandchildren for me to take. :thumbsup2

I am prepared for the teenage years that are approaching fast and all that comes with it, including the whole boyfriend thing. It's one of those things we just have to accept is happening.

Good luck on the games, playing at the Garden would be pretty cool.

We have a middle school tournament here, a team that I have ended up coaching until mid-February. About half of the players are from our club team and the consensus is that this will just be for some fun.

How did the tournament go?

Afternoon. Still stupid cold and wind has picked up. Eight months from now I'll be Florida wondering about the heat. Heh.

I told DW last night that it seemed like it was on again and she was pleased. Gotta drop in on the TA soon

:thumbsup2 Definitely have to plan to meet up. Maybe a little earlier in the day so the girls can have a little more time to hang out. I heard they have an ESPNZone for us to hide in.:goodvibes

Well guys with the DL trip only a few short days away the thought naturally goes through all of our heads "when is the next trip?" Well this time I realized I don't have an answer and it could end up being a few years.

I would like to attempt a short Wine and Dine 1/2 to get the coast 2 coast but prob unlikely.

I did decide to start to put money back for the next trip,I was talking to my parents the other day and with the DHS and AK construction happening, it seems likely that we may just save and wait till my nephew is 5 and do a joint WDW and DCL trip by then DD will be roughly 12 so prob enjoy it more.

All in all 2014 and 2015 have brought some cool trips and if it takes awhile to get back then that's cool with me and won't stop planning and having fun!!

Have a great trip Philip! DD and I are always planning our next trip. She keeps asking when the Frozen ride will be finished. I am hoping by this Summer so we can see it then. I'm pretty sure no matter what happens the next few years, she is planning her 16th birthday to be at Disney.

You sure your team hasn't been playing at the TD garden all season, wearing green celtics jerseys? :confused3 Because that pro-team we had a number of years ago sure hasn't been out there....

Yup, I'm sure. They're not tall enough to be mistaken for the Celtics.:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

It's booked, it's official:cool1: Trip 6 on the AP:thumbsup2 4/5 (Easter) - 4/11, POP:yay:

:cool1::cool1: I have only been there once around Easter. Crowds were low before Easter Sunday. On Monday it was like the Zombie Apocalypse had hot and the only safe place in the world was MK.:scared1: Never seen so many people in one place. Hopefully the crowds will be manageable and the weather nice.

Morning all. I have to travel to campus all week. Yuk!

Chilling in the room now. Since DD had to curtail her training leading up to the marathon due to knee issues, this race kicked her butt a bit.

That's why I stopped running marathons too. :lmao:

Ok football is done for another season. It was nice to see the Cowboys make it this far and they were playing later in the year than the Ravens and Steelers.
:lmao:

You don't watch championship games or Superbowl?

Okay. It's not official but since there will be a DisDad presence in DLR next weekend for a certain set of races, I'm tagging it DDC3.141592.
See you there Philip and Richard any other dads I might have missed

DDC pi? I'd rather have bacon. Have a great trip.

When are you planning on going , we are doing a mid week to mid week so it's like 2 weeks covered:confused3

June 21-27, but nothing booked yet. Outlaw family vacation planning is a roadblock.

Glad to see Rondo traded to a contender. I try to follow former UK/ UL pro players.

:thumbsup2
You'll put those commando skills to the test for this trip. On that note, now that we are probably traveling summers for the next decade to WDW, I think I DW talked into APs as well.

Are you trying to say the Celtics aren't contenders?:confused3:confused3

We're in the same boat as they say. Summer trips until the kids are out of high school. College breaks seem to be pretty good for planning January trips though.

Wow what a great game sorry Randall and congrats to Jim and Rob

It was a great game to watch. Sorry Randall. I don't feel bad for you since you spent the weekend in Disney.

The one constant. A Harbaugh whining after a loss.:lmao::rotfl2::lmao: Hey Randall, I'm ineligible.:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

A little bragging. She finished her 3rd Disney Marathon.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Congrats to the Pirate Princess. It was probably because she could focus on the race and not trying to find and Shiv Paul. :lmao::lmao:

Looks like Sexy Rexy is going to Buffalo. Would have preferred he leave the AFC East, but at least we'll continue to have the off field fun when we face them. Not sure if that helps or hurts the Dolphins chances to be #2 in the division.

Well done, looking forward to seeing the pictures.

We went 2 and 2, good enough for the bronze medal. All the boys played well and worked hard. I was very pleased given the fact that this school team has only had one practice so far. I have been relying on DS and his club team-mates to set the example and so far they have been pretty good. DS averaged 14 points per game over the weekend, pretty good since our middle schools use an even play system for school sports.

Another game tonight against the top team in the region.

You don't watch championship games or Superbowl?

I will most likely watch some of the division games and all of the Superbowl. With who is left, I would like to see a Pats/Packers Superbowl with the Pats adding another ring.

Welcome back Scott. Sorry the drive home was rough, but I don't feel bad for you as you were coming back from what looked like a great trip. ;)

That part of Nova Scotia gets a lot of tourists but they would only be there in the summer months. They surely wouldn't be there when you were there.

Makes sense, I didn't see many of them. :rotfl2:

I support this message. :thumbsup2

Welcome back to the reality the ret of us have been in for the last week.:lmao::lmao:

Top O the Morning Dads and congrats to the Pats, Pack & Colts fans. Did I just congratulate Packers fans - gonna be a long week:sick: Have a good week guys and enjoy tonight's game.

Having no "dog in the fight" as they say, it's hard to pick a favorite to root for tonight. I like Oregon in general and Mariotta. Ohio State is on QB #3, how can you not root for that guy. Should be a good game. Just REALLY happy it's not Bama. I hate that guy.

Morning all. I have to travel to campus all week. Yuk!

Sorry Norm, I guess you have to work some time. Just look at the positives. You'll get a few hours of solitaire practice in in preparation for your retirement.:lmao::lmao:

Congrats on the good weekend to Declan! Good luck tonight.

That's what we like to see Darcy. Jump on the wagon, I saved you a seat.:lmao::lmao::thumbsup2

I didn't understand his quote after the game--complaining that the Pats game plan was based on "deception". Isn't every NFL game plan based on deception?:confused3

:thumbsup2 I guess he's just embarrassed that he wasn't prepared for it or aybe it's one of those "unwritten" rules they have in MLB.:confused3 The NFL has already said several times that what the Pats did was within the rule book and they did nothing wrong. Of course because it was the Patriots, they'll change the rule in the offseason as they always do.

It's kind of fun being they team everyone hates, especially when they coach seems to make every effort to piss everyone off all the time.:lmao::lmao:

Thank You!! It is a bummer not having a trip to fall back on, (still hoping I can do Wine and Dine half, but it's doubtful)

I know WDW is ever changing so stepping back after this trip isn't so bad, gives plenty of time to save and plan. Hopefully most of the AK and HS construction will be done and it gives DD time to get older before experiencing a cruise for the first time. So it's not so bad, and will look forward to experiencing WDW with my nephew!

Been a closet Pats fan for years, partly because they have the only stadium I have been to for a game and because I haven't liked many of the NFC teams that play in the Superbowl in the last few years.

‘Morning all…
Young’en packed up and shipped back off to school. The house is quiet again and were back to the normal winter routine: sleep, work, fight depression, repeat…

Did enjoy seeing all the posts and pics for the DDCC though, so thanks and congrats to all the folks that got to partake.

Hug everyone in your family
Spread that pixie dust around
Lift a few extra brews
Bacon and Dole Whips for all.

Congrats to the hoop kids guys - keep sharing thise stories as some of us "older guys" enjoy hearing about that kind of stuff.

That makes two of us :rotfl2:

He may piss off folks but I'll take him in Chicago or Tennessee

We just finished our first week with the girl back at school and it was quieter than the weeks she was back home :confused3 We still have DS but he is the quiet, calm one of the family - except while watching a Blackhawks game :lmao: Great tag line, gonna borrow that one if ya don't mind :thumbsup2

Anyone remember the Living with the Seas movie? The Deluge. It rained and rained and rained. Current conditions here. Want to head over to ESPN to watch the game so I hope it stops in the next hour.

Downloading pictures sometime tonight and I'll post a few in the next day or so.

Throw on a raincoat and get out there. :)

Yes sir, heading to ESPN around 6:00. Not springing for a poncho because 1. I have about 3 billion of them at home and 2. The rain doesn't bother me anyway.

I see what you did there...Let the storm rage on
