I'm not that broken up about it since I wasn't sure, right up until the decision if I even wanted to do it. I'm already making the salary without the headaches. Pros and cons to be weighed.

Money without the decisions/ headaches? Yes, i would go with that. I did the supervisor thing once - wasn't enough pay.

DD had her 18th birthday over the weekend. I'm coming to terms with the fact that I kind of can't really tell her what to do anymore. To some extent, I guess. I'm not sure how this whole kids becoming an adult thing is supposed to work.

I've kicked in the b@lls at work the past week, not much time for anything.

Well, technically you can't tell her what to do, but you can provide incentives for listening. Depending on the kid, it sometimes works. I've only got 1 of 7 left at home, so I think I had maybe a 33% success rate with that approach.

Came in second. I didn't have the time to prepare that I'd like due to my DD's surgery and that possibly made the difference.
There's also a possibility (and I am not saying this is the case, but I would be remiss not to mention it) that they awarded more points to the guy who got it because I'm eligible for pension in 18 months and he's in his late 20s.

You have to constantly deal with other people. Some days there isn't enough money in the world to make that appealing.

Happy Friday guys! My last 5th Friday of the week today. Head back to work on Monday. I've enjoyed not having to endure the day to day grind, but looking forward to bringing in some money again.

Wednesday, they passed the gut the Retirement Bill out of committee. Lots of protests. Today, they voted it back into committee. Still another month of session to go.
