Morning everyone

I'm heading home today in advance of a storm due to hit us tomorrow, I still need to be there for my weekend shifts, and aside of cleaning out FILs apartment there isn't much more for me to do ( yup dodged that bullet lol). DW and the girls will stay until Sunday

Good Morning Dads,

Posting from home today after the cleanup of 29.2 inches officially reported. Looks like Paul wins.:lmao::lmao: As I mentioned to Brent, Murphy paid a visit to my house last night as well with a furnace failure. Sure does get cold in the house when the heat is out and you have -4 wind chills. The positive is we had electricity all night and the electric heaters kept the house around 54 degree. Yah us! No school today. DD playing outside. DS still in bed.

Snowblower froze up last night during the clean up as well, making it a little more difficult. Governor froze and would lose power whenever the auger was moving. Thawed it out and then sheared a pin. Fixed that and sheared another one. Finally everything back together. I'm hoping the next storm on Friday goes a little smoother.

Morning guys! About 2 feet of snow and counting! My town is in this small little band that's got the most snowfall of anyone in the storm. Yay us! :headache:

I hope your flight gets out. Watching the news, it said full service would not be back up until tomorrow at Logan, not sure where you are flying from. Enjoy the warmer weather and sunshine.

Morning guys

Hope all you affected by the storm got through ok. We may or may not get get some Thursday, but I usually find forecasts to be overblown.

We survived Snowmaggedon 2015. Still a little chilly in here. Waiting for them to install a new inducer into the furnace. The sun is shining and all is good. I agree with the forecasts being overblown, but they nailed this one pretty well down here.

Stay safe. Shoveling snow makes you thirsty so keep drinking beer to stay hydrated;)

And don't forget the rum for the hot chocolate!:thumbsup2

Best tip I can give you is not to let the crap the plow leaves at the end of the driveway build up.

Had to clear an 8 foot wall a couple of times yesterday. Was not bad this morning when I got to the final cleaning.

Im busy eating a sandwich

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Morning guys

:wave2:

Morning guys. At work today; roads were a mess. Going to take the state a few more days to dig out I think!

Your a lot more committed than I am. I was pretty close to calling today on Monday.:lmao::rotfl2::lmao: Of course not enjoying the no heat and the bill that will be coming shortly. Stay safe.

Hopefully the next storm does go smoother. We just replaced our furnace, so my bank account feels your bank account's pain. Are they going to be able to get you back up and running before the next storm?

Yeah that really blows but in a small way I'm not too upset Murphy has decided to pick on someone else. I've had more than enough of him. Thank goodness for space heaters and blankets, I've never had to deal with no heat in the winter could never deal with it, unlike when I was younger I feel the bloody cold now. I hope they get it up and running by tonight

Car seems to be fine now, DW will take it to be serviced to be safe. I know the heater on my side is gone, it blows cold air and made for some chilling rides back and forth from Sarnia this past weekend. She may or may not have that checked too depends on money situation. The time obstacle for this summer is clear just money now. SFIL suspected the stalling and issues when we got here had to do with the gas line and put a gas line antifreeze into the tank which seemed to help. I'd rather be cold for a couple more months and get heater dealt with after August if it'll cost too much.

I'll see what the snow looks like at home it was pretty bad from Mississauga to Hamilton and we hit sun by Brantford and it's been sunny albeit cold in Sarnia even during the blizzards you guys east had. Forecast has snow starting overnight and all through tomorrow so SFIL who is taking me back so I can work ( yay?) would rather take me back tonight. He's been driving trucks all his life so I trust his instincts. Gives me a bachelor day tomorrow to boot, so I'll stock up the larder tonight and spend it making sure the couch doesn't float away.

Lastly DW would like to extend her gratitude and thanks for the prayers and thoughts for the whole ordeal. It's been a real rollercoaster two weeks since we got the news and obviously was a lot different then we expected. It'll be done time before things will feel natural again we just finally got back into the groove after my Dad passed and now she's in my place but all is good. The funeral home we dealt with is very good with dealing with this. They are going to handle the government side of it we have been doing the rest, and the package they gave her thinks of everything and step by step how to go about it all. Making this far easier then I thought it'd be.

Sorry about sending Murphy to visit you guys. Send him back, I've gotten used to him. Prayers, bacon and Dole Whips for all.

OK, I'm sending back over. Everything back in working order and I'm going to sit on the coach with a Sam Adams to relax for a while.

Anyone in the way of the storm stay safe.

Flying out of Manchester. They've resumed Southwest flights today, so it loks promising. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Got to remember that my office is down past Framingham... They got less snow, so everyone is here today... :crazy2:

Just checking in....

We escaped the brunt of the storm... Storm tracked 50-75 miles east of what was predicted and only gave us about a foot of snow. Saw lots of video and pictures from Mass and MAN you guys got hammered.

Couple pics from our snow fort....

Glad you and the family are OK. Anyone hear from Tim? Hear parts of Connecticut also got slammed.

Edited: See above post.

Stitches out today!!!:thumbsup2 Off until 2/9. I wish we had a big snow while I'm off. It will wait until I'm back at work and on all before it happens:confused3

That is good news Steve. Is there any rehab involved?

Glad you made it through unscathed. Well, relatively.

Sucks about the furnace and the snowblower but when you are old and crotchety (a couple of weeks from now?) you can say, "That's nothing. I remember when I went through the Blizzard of 2015. We got 100 inches an hour for two weeks."

The kid went to her first Blizzard party and was kind of ticked they only got about 6 inches. But then again, she doesn't have to shovel or drive in it.

No furnace failure here, but the sensor goes out on mine from time to time. I know how to clean it and get the heat going. Sure was cold at 60 degrees this AM. I sound like the dad from the Christmas Story. :lmao:

Another bit of good advice. :thumbsup2

Afternoon guys. Glad the winter storm stuff has calmed down for you guys, at least for a little bit anyway. Stay safe.

At tonight's pack meeting we got the pinewood derby cars cut and weighed. All that's left is sanding and painting. We're cutting it a bit close with Stretch's. Before paint it already weighs 4.9 ounces.
Call up Tom Brady to see what suggestions he has :rotfl:

Sorry to hear about Murph showing up at your place especially when compounded by the storm situation. Be safe and good thoughts being sent your way for Sunday's game. GO PATS!

Pixie dust that all your travel goes as planned

Aaaaa, aaahhhhh, it's a cliiinkerrrrr!!!!!!

Well obviously he has the furnace back on and cranked full, otherwise I'd recommend something warm like the hot chocolate/coffee bailys combo or at least some beer with teeth, 10% or higher

Evening Guys,

I hope every that needs to be has dug out. I am afraid of what I will find when I get home tomorrow. I asked DW this morning if DS was complaining from all the shovelling he had to do yesterday and she said he hadn't done it yet. The schools were closed again today so I hope he had fun to do it today. :rotfl2:

Unfortunately there was no Bailey's in the bar today. I guess it was all used up over the holidays and no one told me. So rum it is! Will have to get the Bailey's restocked for the weekend.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Everything is back in order and Murphy has been sent packing.

You can still recommend it. That way I can tell DW it was Brent's fault and she can't get mad at me.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Home again, actually have been home for a few hours. We made good time. Settled in, and watching the Extended Fellowship of the Ring, will try to watch the whole trilogy through the week. Still have a day off left.

I heartily endorse this event or product. Although to be an official Brent the Beer Guy endorsement, it should really be craft beer.

Another night of tennis. Didn't die on the court. Usual pain. A better than average night. :lmao:

:

Heard an interesting take on Cowerd's show on ESPN Radio. Basically, it was not so much as Brady throwing the ball, but the stats show that the the Patriots FUMBLE the ball less than all the indoor teams - by a big margin over the last # of years- which would be effected by the inflation of the ball. He pointed out that the "Patriot" way of not fumbling the ball couldn't be duplicated by Crennel and Daniels when they went to other teams. Finally, Blount and Edelman fumbled the ball more with the other teams they played for than they did with the Patriots.
