Certainly beats my two-pair…Now this is a happy Monday because next Monday I'll be sitting on my duff in Ko Olina for 10 days at Aulani. Now if I only had a time machine ...
Precisely…Thanks, but I'm only qualified to lead people to utter depravity, supreme laziness, and/ or death.
Your algebra is correct, but you didn’t have all the variables you needed.I wish I had something to help with work. You mentioned 39 years in a post (or maybe I misread) which when added to age 21, I thought put you past that 59.5 magical age to access retirement funds.
And I have been considering that very option. But it appears that there are more opportunities on your side of the map. None of the governments in my area have anything that would translate (at least not right now). If I were an experienced back-ho operator, sanitation worker or law-enforcement/corrections officer, then I’d be good; systems & data analysis with proficiency in older machine languages though… not so much. You could always join the ranks of those of us in public service. Seriously, my office is always hiring, regardless of age, and although we're out here in California, most of my compatriots in other states say the same thing. Health care is really good but doesn't cost a lot (I'm paying about $260/month for full coverage for me, the wife, and the boy covering health, dental, and vision). We still get a pension. I've been an attorney at the county level before and now at the state level, and out here the locals pay better than the state but the state has better health care.
But you can pretty much find every private sector job in the public sector. Something to think about.
Spectacular!Steampunk Mad Hatter.
A stamp and an envelope (plus tax)What can you buy for 77 cents???
I’ll drink to the notion of being invaluable.Mornin' Dads from beautiful Cape Cod. Working this morning in a different department and learning new things, which will hopefully make me more invaluable. Have a good day.
I'll just have to have one with ya, once I'm home of course.I’ll drink to the notion of being invaluable.
Heck, I’ll drink to dang near anything.
Soon as I get home, I believe I do just that.
And stay off my (snow covered) lawn!!!Made me feel old though. We didn't get home until 11:00pm. If DW isn't in her PJ's by 9:00 most night, then something is wrong. I felt pretty tired myself. But nice to do for a change.
Thanks! Extraordinarily helpful!See here:
Hang on...Spectacular!
Pictures?
(I know better, but I have to ask)
Great! Send it up here with a cheque for $27.50(USD) and I'll send it down!A stamp and an envelope (plus tax)
Oh, of course.I'll just have to have one with ya, once I'm home of course.
That is most excellent.
I'll need the Loonie first just to be able to afford the envelope.Great! Send it up here with a cheque for $27.50(USD) and I'll send it down!
Thanks!That is most excellent.
It was worth a shot.I'll need the Loonie first just to be able to afford the envelope.
As for including $27.50...
Baawwhaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaa...
I'm on the phone with my insurance company now trying to figure out why they didn't pay my ambulance bill and they're telling me it's out of network. Out of network for an ambulance?????
I guess they expect me to call around to find an ambulance that's COVERED before they transport me to the ER.

Yeah, exactly my frustration. It's not like if I'm in an accident, I have a choice over who is dispatched.
How much was the ride?
And... The next time you have a life threatening emergency, call your insurance provider first... hmmm... better make it an email, and wait 2-3 business days for instructions.
Actually... you should call your insurance provider and find out who is in the network and put their phone number by the phone or in your contacts.I just looked up on map and did a search for ambulance. The closest one (that wasn't the county fire & rescue) is 35-45 minutes away, but maybe they were in network.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Have a good! That's all I got so ...........Dole Whips, Mickey Bars, Bourbon and bacon for everyone!
Your algebra is correct, but you didn’t have all the variables you needed.
I started the job when I was 18; mail-room, third-shift, minimum-wage. Climbed through the ranks, got into mainframe operations and then into systems programing from there. Never did graduate from the tech school I was also attending and certainly not in the field I thought I wanted to study.
One thing that is true though is that I can possibly get into 401k earlier if it becomes necessary. If you're over 55 (got that one covered) and your job is eliminated, then you can access your 401 without penalty (you still owe taxes, but that’s true either way). The catch is that I have to stay here until they toss me out (it don’t work if I leave voluntarily).
I really, really hate budget time of the year. That is all
There are few times I wish we had socialized medicine, but today is one of those days.
As you may know, I fell in preparing my house for hurricane Dorian and cracked ribs.

You mean DW is out of her pajamas..... No, wait, we are married. That doesn't happen very often anymore.
Thank you for the birthday wishes guys.
I didn't take the day off, there's just too much going on at work right now.
But I did go see a concert last night with DW. A local band that none of you would have ever heard of, but I enjoyed it. Made me feel old though. We didn't get home until 11:00pm. Got Mickey Bars and Bourbon? If you got Dole Whips, Mickey Bars, and bourbon, then I'm on my way.
Ugh...snow. We haven't had it yet but it's been very close. Only a couple degrees above freezing here yesterday and a wicked wind blowing. It's supposed to be sunny and a little warmer for Halloween thankfully. And stay off my (snow covered) lawn!!!

Buddy Wasisname and the Other Fellers
It was bound to be a band nobody had heard of and would have trouble spelling.
"Wonderful! I had no idea you guys covered helicopter transport!"When we were about to have our daughter there was an issue with my work insurance and the local hospital. Well, I called and asked what would happen if my wife goes into labor. This is the response I got from my insurance: "Well, sir, there's a hospital in Oak Bluffs that's in network." My response: "Oak Bluffs' Hospital is on an island! I can't get there at 2am!" Insurance, one of those enigmas that will never be fully understood.
We had that major dump a few weeks ago. Then it all melted and we had some nice days... now it's back and looks like it might stay.Ugh...snow. We haven't had it yet but it's been very close.
We're going to be slightly warmer around the freezing mark for Halloween... bit chilly, but hoping it won't impact it too much.Only a couple degrees above freezing here yesterday and a wicked wind blowing. It's supposed to be sunny and a little warmer for Halloween thankfully.
Pretty much same here.Interesting thing though - ambulance rides are not free here. At least in my province (and since the provinces run the health care from the funding provided by the federal government, it may be different in others). If you have private health insurance they are normally covered. Our health care covers everything once you are inside the hospital. Anything outside, including prescription drugs, is not covered.
Wait. Of course I've heard of them. I thought you said nobody'd heard of them?Buddy Wasisname and the Other Fellers
