DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Hmmm... not exactly sure if you're just saying that just because you know the owner, it doesn't get you anything... or if you mean something else?
I'm saying the fact that I know the owner is kind of a useless factoid and is not going to help me with other things in life.

It might help if I ordered one...he'd probably give me a discount.

I've been really considering a Traeger. Except... I'm the only one who eats much meat so not sure if it's worth it. Decisions, decisions. Suspect the smoker would work when it's -35 and the propane gels and doesn't really work though.
I always check out the traegers when they are at Costco but I have my heart set on a yoder.

Morning folks - waiting at the airport for my flight to Orlando, which is estimated to leave 40 minutes late. Dinner reservation at Beaches and Cream is looking a bit iffy, but we'll see when we get there. Might make it if we skip the DME bus and catch an Uber/Lyft in.
Go get that burger and ice cream mate. Enjoy.

Had to leave work early yesterday--my son came down with fever at school. Turns out he's got the flu, so now that's in my house. We leave on vacation in a couple of weeks, so I'm really hoping this doesn't spread through the rest of the family.
I hope he's doing OK, and hope the rest of the family comes out unscathed. All the best for your vacation.

I just got into it a few years ago and I've really had a lot of fun with it as I go through the learning curve. I found this to be an excellent resource: https://amazingribs.com/

They seems to know what they're talking about and I follow their recipes for the most part. They also have reviews of smokers, thermometers, etc. which I found helpful too. Having a good meat thermometer is key--my BBQ improved by leaps and bounds once I invested in one.
Thanks, I'll have to look into it.
I'm not entirely sure what I would do with the meat I smoked though, since the girls could care less. More for me I suppose.

5 to 10 cm of snow forecast for tomorrow, DS is hoping for a snow day. DW did point out that last year there was one on the 28th of April so I guess they are still hoping. LOL.
No snow in the forecast for us, but definitely cooler today, sunny but just a few degrees able freezing. I'm hoping not to see snow again, but let's face it there was snow here on June 2nd last year so....

Love it too... even though it's pretty much guaranteed that they'll never find much of anything.
!

Oak Island comes on tonight, I watch it every week. I have a good feeling they might find a piece of pottery, and maybe they might need a permit for something:rolleyes1.

It seems like they need awful amount of permits to do anything, haven't seen a town inspector ever checking any of the work out:confused3. :scratchinI somehow think the did not get permits to hide the stuff a few hundred years ago::yes::

You're another optimist!
I think they might find a shard of pottery.

Well, then they'd have to pay him/her too and the budget must be tight considering how much money they... oh... wait...

Oh, no. Licensing was far more strict in North America in the 1600s. The natives would kill you.

(Yes, yes. I know. Many of the indigenous people welcomed the newcomers. Some didn't.)

Morning, O Captains, My Captains. Working from home today, so have to resist the urge to youtube. The kids took over our home office and now it looks like the toy store threw up in there. So a bit like my actual office. Morning has thus far started well, with a toasted bacon sandwich and some of Colombia's finest.

Coffee.

Shame on you for going there.

If only there were a place where you could play with building blocks all day and call it work
Shots fired!
I think its like when you had a crush in High School, you used to make fun of the girl to get her attention. ;)

See, now I've got to watch the first episode. And then someones gonna tell me, "Oh no, you have to stick with it" and before you know it I'm giving a rats rear about some random finding a saucer from 1860, and I have a deep understanding of the steps to obtain a archaeological permit in wherever.

(Yes, yes. I know. Many of the indigenous people welcomed the newcomers. Some didn't.)
Are we really taking the moral high ground on that one? :rolleyes1

Have a fantasmic day chaps.

Morning folks. So far I've had the first three days of April scheduled off and this will be my fourth shift this month.
Tomorrow's (and the next day) an evening shift so looking forward to not having to get up before the rest of the world.

Morning, O Captains, My Captains.

Good movie. Haven't seen it in a long time, though.

So... is the likelihood of you stepping on a Lego more or less?

Shame on you for going there.

You started it.

Well, to quote one of the featured members.
"Oo-woo woo-woo woo-woo woo!"

Now that's riveting all on its own, isn't it?

Are we really taking the moral high ground on that one? :rolleyes1

Have to. The low ground's already taken.

Morning gents. Not much to report here today. Just another mundane work week.
Sunshine again but frost on the car this morning, so the icy grasp of winter isn't quite gone yet.
