Morning all. Youngest dd had first select soccer games this weekend. I had four of the select players one year on my rec team. No wonder they went undefeated that season. :lmao: First game, they won 4-2. Second game, they got stomped. But, the second team did not have to play back to back games at 3:00 PM in the heat.

I like your idea better than Norm's!

I'm ok with you booking my trip with CJ's credit card. :lmao:

Randall, Oh mighty keeper of the DIS keys, please add the Nicely * to the front page for a trip 5/9-5/15 at Kidani. Thank you!

Bravo on the trip. The family will love it.

SWMBO and the kids have tentatively decided on the TS meals for our trip next year. SWMBO - Boma + 1 still to pick for the 20th anniversary dinner. DS - Chef Mickey, DD - Akershus, I picked Garden Grill because everyone likes it. Plenty of characters and buffets but at least that way nobody goes away hungry.

That's a good list. Enjoy!

There are dangers being home alone, bored and a Disney trip coming up. It started when I heard someone on a podcast talking about a package for F&W. For $199, it includes special seating areas around World Showcase where you can eat and drink at a table. You also get a bottle of wine, special F&W glass, commemorative Magic Band, a $50 gift certificate and admittance to one of the late night parties.

In order to take full advantage of this I added a day at SSR for the 7th. First time for that resort. May come up a day early so Norm and Jim, we might be able to get together before you guys leave. Anyone else at Epcot those days, chances are I will be there, so let me know.
1?

If you ever need me to fly to Florida to drink bourbon with you, then just send me a flight ticket. :lmao:

Hey guys. Got back from a long weekend in NYC with the wife. Spent Fri in and around times square, and had a wedding on long island yesterday. Good times. Got home early this morning to celebrate my little guy turning 3. Had a great day.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Saw the picture on FB. Happy Birthday to DS.

Morning Guys,

Another Monday is upon us. Nothing new for me but today was the first day DW had to get up and go to work since the end of June. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

One more week for DS.

Have a good one!

I've woken up to alot worse things!

There should be a story that goes with this.

Excellent cause. But isn't hockey the only sport in Canada?:rotfl2::rotfl:

Some would think that.

No final totals yet but we think about $6000 was raised yesterday afternoon. Add that to the golf tournament that donates to our charity every year and it looks like about $15,000 for the two events. :thumbsup2

Morning fellas.

Trying to get back into the swing of things with school. Not going well so far. The kids have already had several meltdowns as they have forgotten to bring homework assignments home and had to scramble to finish them at school the next day. Naturally, I had a long talk with them about writing things down and being responsible.

Then, this morning, I forgot to bring papers with me I needed for a meeting. :headache:

Top O the Mornin Dads. Looks like the procedure to wipe out these big kidney stones went well. Find out on Friday follow-up if all done and that all are now passable. Hot here in mid TN this weekend so basically hung out inside resting watching SW and football.

IT'S MINE! IT'S MINE! IT'S MINE! ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!

In the very early am I dropped the Pirate Princess at the airport. Luckily I stuck around because her checked bag weighed 73 pounds. At American, anything over 70 pounds costs $200. First thing we took out was her Run Disney medals which weighed 4 pounds so all was good.

Made it safely to NJ and is busy moving her stuff in. From texts before and after the flight it seems it was not a smooth trip. For one, her aisle seat became a middle one. Also got a text, "People are Idiots." Can't wait to hear the story.

It was a great summer but glad she is back at school. Sure, later I will miss her a bit, but it is nice having the house to myself. Besides, she is meeting me at the World in October.
Glad DD arrived safe and sound despite travel hassles.
Yup. We have swim practice 3 days a week, soccer three-four times a week (games & practice), CCD, and youth group. I have two regular scheduled tennis matches scheduled per week, with three other possibilities.

Pure chaos, Norm.
  • Both of my girls are playing soccer. That's a week day for each and a Saturday. Right now we only know the day for practice of youngest DD. No word on what day the oldest will have practice.
  • Both have CCD on Wednesday
  • Somewhere in here there is going to be a tumbling class for oldest DD.
  • NFL season is starting which also means Fantasy Football...so...at least Sunday, Monday, Thursday...and I have tix to 4 Steelers games and will prob try to hit a few HS games and a Pitt game or two :lmao:

And I guess somewhere in between the activities we should focus on homework, tests...maybe our jobs....

Did I mention that both of my DDs are in girl scouts, that my wife is a homeroom mom for both classes, co-leader for the oldest's GS troop and works as a retail pharmacist? I think I've determined why I consume so much coffee. :surfweb:

Evening Guys,

Since last Friday we have traveled about 800 miles for soccer and some family time. Two games for DS, including a win today, and to watch to other games at the World Cup.

Only one more weekend for the travel team, with the semi-finals next Saturday and the finals on Sunday. And luckily those games are back in the same city we have traveled to 3 times in the last week. Good times!
Hope you all had a great Saturday and please join me in a cold beer.
I know you guys are enjoying these times. But, trust an "old" guy when I say take in every minute, enjoy all the running around, don't let any of the sport nut parents ruin anything for you and ENJOY the heck out of this time in your lives :thumbsup2

Greetings from the surface of the sun. MK has to be 99 degrees today. If Ellen ' Energy adventure was here, I'd ride it over and over again.

Seriously. I posted that from the line at IASW. A preordered quick service lunch at BOG cooled us off. Of course my wife has us doing some wacky diet thing for 28 days and our Disney trip is during the third week of that. So I had quinoa for lunch. Where do i turn in my man card?
Chris, you are killing me, first you are at DaWorld don't let the heat get to you man. I was for removing the man card and Chicago sports fan card away until I read you are doing this for health reasons - stick with it.
I just got a wake up call from Olaf. Not a bad way to start the day.
Now you're talking, that's the Chris I met :thumbsup2
Morning all,

I am off to our Family Fun Day event to raise money for KidSport. We want to make sure every kid gets a chance to play an organized sport.

Have a good one.
Great cause.

Sounds like a great plan there :thumbsup2

You also get a bottle of wine, special F&W glass, commemorative Magic Band, a $50 gift certificate and admittance to one of the late night parties. Don't really care about the wine, wine glass and MB but the gift certificate and party admittance alone is worth around $130. That is my justification and I am sticking to it.

Other than hitting a couple of booths a time or two, I never really enjoyed F&W so I thought I would splurge. Also booked two "Mixology Seminars," for $15 each. Oct. 7, is a The Fladgate Partnership (ports) and the 8th is Beam/Suntory (cocktails, including BOURBON). Attending the party Oct. 9 before the kid arrives late that night. Could be fun.
Nice splurge and sounds very cool. F&W is one thing we have not done yet due to school schedules / October. Thinking a DW & me only trip once the boy is off at college to take in this event. Enjoy planning the rest of your trip.

Morning :thumbsup2

.

I'm hoping it works out. Still alot of planning to do. As of right now we would only do 2 or 3 park days. I worry about over stimulation, not to mention ticket costs.

You have four children now. You are allowed to forget stuff :thumbsup2

Thankfully I'm back at work so I can get some rest!

Good morning. Or afternoon, I guess. It has been a long day already.

Howdy, Andy!

As much as I complain, it's way better than kidney stones. :lmao:
Seriously, prayers all is well.

Ticket costs are high, as well as food costs X6. As nice as it is to save $, the resorts/ activities are just so much fun as well. If it hadn't been for DVC, I never would have slowed to enjoy them. Or, I would do something silly like spend 2 weeks on the road, drive for 3611 miles, thru 18 States and ......

Thankfully I'm back at work so I can get some rest!

That's what I say most every Monday.

Happy birthday to the big guy. Did he cry when he saw the Red Sox's balloon?

Congratulations on a successful kidney stone blasting. Hope the rest is a piece of cake.
If you ever need me to fly to Florida to drink bourbon with you, then just send me a flight ticket. :lmao:

Or if you need someone to drink with you at the bourbon bar, send me a ticket to Kentucky. If I come in a day early and depending on what you guys are doing, maybe we can meet up at ESPN or the Belle Vue room for a cocktail.

You left out an important detail, how many cheese balls were consumed?

Right now Tuesday morning, but knowing me, I'll probably be there off site on Monday.

Well, I was planning a lobster roll for lunch Tuesday 12:00 before we go. I'll bring my sandwich into the bar with you. Or, we could do ESPN club for lunch. They have Yuengling draft by the pitcher.

Welcome home! You guys definitely covered a lot of ground. Funny, I've had the same lack of desire around the Basketball Hall of Fame.
