Morning..getting tests back today, lets see how much trouble I'm in

On a side note, I bought a used copy of Mariocart. What a great family game. I just need to get two more controllers so that we have four. DW told the kids to move over, she was gaming before they were born, lol

Sweet! Which version?

Is that a kid? I hope as hell Children's Aid saw that..:sad2:

Top of the morning fellas! I have to take one of the DD's to the orthodontics this morning to see if her braces will be put on yet. We have been "turning" the device that was installed in her mouth for two weeks. She keeps asking why straight teeth are important?

My oldest had that expander thing we had to turn every so often. After that, another device to maintain the space. Braces to follow this fall or Spring.
Despite a litany of other issues, I was blessed with decent teeth. Still no cavities and have all of my wisdom teeth. My wife has good teeth, too but they came as a result of braces. My girls will be following that same path. It seems like the orthodontic world has come a long way though. Still expensive, but the devices seem more innovative.

We have MarioKart for the Wii and my DDs LOVE it! We play alot in the colder months when we can't be outside. We usually play as a team. My DW doesn't let me play all games b\c apparently I'm too competitive and yell at the girls for under-performing.

I found out over the past few days that I might be getting appointed to a committee that will involve going to Orlando in 2016 for a meeting. DW has been talking to grandparents about seeing if DS can stay with them since he'll be in school when I have to go. She doesn't know if we should take DD since DS won't be going and she's not even sure if she'll go. Is it wrong of me to actually kind of want it to be a solo trip? I feel kind of guilty for it... but that would be pretty awesome. :thumbsup2

If you feel that guilty, then you can send me in your place. :lmao:

I'll never have that opportunity, so it's easier to say. The guilt thing for me would be in spending the money/using DVC points without my family. But, if work paid the travel, lodging, and food expenses, then I don't think I would feel as guilty in adding on the tickets.

It ain’t wrong to think about it…
So long as when you do it you feel just a little bit bad right before the fifteenth launch on the RnRRC.
Do remember to drown out that guilt with a couple of Dole Whips though.
Interestingly enough, one of our vendors is holding its conference at the Swan and Dolphin the day after our November trip ends. I’d have free admission for the conference and work would pay air and hotel accommodations. I already have an AP and will have TIW. I’m just trying to figure out if I can actually swing it.

But to the original question of guilt…it’s normal to feel it b\c we spend quality family vacations at WDW. But I don’t think that you SHOULD feel guilty. As much as my entire family is all Disney zealots, we each have our own preferences. There are things that each of us would like to do but others could care less. I view yours as an opportunity to do those things that YOU want to do without making your family sacrifice their time at WDW.

I don’t disagree. But while a bad idea might well get the job done and one may not actually suffer harm attempting said questionable act…
surviving it, don’t necessarily make you smart.

usually it just means you’re bloody dang lucky. :rotfl2:
LOL. You are 100% correct. Reminds of the time we set a log pile on fire to get rid of the poison ivy. We got tired of taking turns fetching foul balls out of it. We took matters into our own hands. It wasn’t a good feeling when my brother and I came home from somewhere to see my dad in his suit when he got home from work, with our garden hose over by the logs. Oops.

Back from doctor, and yup, got in trouble. Good cholesterol but blood sugars have gone up and blood pressure won't go down. Three months to regulate or else..:sad2:

Top O the morning Dads! Someone step on the accelerator and get us to the holiday weekend :cool1:

***Forgot to hit submit earlier, like 2.5 hours ago
In case anyone was wondering, Mondays are a lot better when you spend them at WDW.:thumbsup2

Hope all are well. Have a few minutes to post while the family is getting changed and ready to head out for the evening. I'll try to post some pics soon, but haven't taken too many. It's been low to mid 90's every day with heat indexes approaching 120. I have a new appreciation for air conditioning.

Villians Unleashed was a pretty cool party. Almost every villain you can think of was there. Lines were pretty long though. We got pics with Darth Maul, Stormtroopers, Jango, Greedo and a few of the others. Lines too long to see any others. Got some villains night pins, but all other stuff was sold out. The line at 8PM was over 2 hours long and we were told only pins would be left if we waited so I just went back at the end of the night to grab them so we didn't waste the party time. Only 1 place selling Villains stuff:eek:. I think they missed out on a lot of $$ as they sent hundred away with nothing.

A couple more days. I'll send an update if/when I can.
Enjoy the trip and thanks for not whining about the heat like some others may have :rolleyes1

Great stories - especially DW gaming :rotfl2:
Good morning. Hoping to get some free time today to catch up on my Disboard reading.

Would be kinda neat to do a day or two solo - CJ, sounds like you get a day here and there at DaWorld solo. How are they?
EXCELLENT news. Keep us posted! :thumbsup2

Good to hear. May you finally be done with all that nonsense.
Thank you gents, ready for these procedures to be done so keeping my fingers crossed.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Very familiar. I was a bit "hard" at times with DS when we use to play, wait for it, Star Wars Battlefront and the earlier COD games. I too would receive the "just a game and get over yourself" lectures :rotfl2:

You can do it. While going through this kidney stuff I received a very high BP reading at the docs, only for it to be completely normal a week later. Stress and other things can effect so hopefully you get get under control and maintain :thumbsup2

Afternoon guys.

I found out over the past few days that I might be getting appointed to a committee that will involve going to Orlando in 2016 for a meeting. DW has been talking to grandparents about seeing if DS can stay with them since he'll be in school when I have to go. Nothing wrong with going solo. It isn't like, "Well kids, I'm blowing all our vacation money on a trip you will not be on." If you get the opportunity, go for it.

Would be kinda neat to do a day or two solo - CJ, sounds like you get a day here and there at DaWorld solo. How are they?

Lately I've taken more solo trips both at Disney and other places (Boston for example). I think I am excellent company and find myself an entertaining and delightful traveling partner. The best thing is if I want to do something, I just ask myself if I should do it, and the answer is always, sure if you want to. For instance, I would not be doing the F&W thing if the Pirate Princess was with me.

Disney is a great place to go solo. People, especially cast members are chatty and you can have some interesting conversations. Even fine dining is not a problem. Most restaurants have a bar or chef's table area where you can sit with other solos or couples and you don't have the, "Everyone is staring at me because I am such a loser, I have to eat alone," syndrome. Single rider lines are definitely a bonus.

Of course it doesn't replace traveling with someone else but it beats staying home.

DW is plus she had gestational diabetes when pregnant so I have a handle what needs to be done. I should be able to keep it under control, numbers are just into the bad level, not too high.

Second reading was worse then the first, even with meds. This is my #1 priority right now.

I was not aware there were multiple versions. I assumed it was just the first one :confused3

I think it first came out for game boy or something like that. I played it a lot on the old N64 and some on the Gamecube, but my fave is the Wii. Oldest plays it on her 3DS a lot and the Wii U version that is coming out looks AMAZING...used to play a lot online till I got the new router which isn't very game friendly

I don't know about you guys, but I need the college football season to start NOW! Currently have on the 1990 UCLA/Washington game. Mark Brunell just ran it in for a two point conversion. Why am I watching this?

WILL THURSDAY EVER COME?

...and I'm back.
2 weeks on the road
3611 miles
18 States and 1 Canadian Province
5 DisDad Meets (Brian, Brent, Tim, Chris and Mark)
2 Hall of Fames - Baseball and Football. Drove by the Basketball one 3 times and never had the urge to stop. :rotfl2:
14 GB of pictures and a couple hours of movies.

Thankfully I'm back at work so I can get some rest!

Geeez... that was weeks ago. I thought we both agreed we were going straight home.

Awesome family memories you made! Welcome Back.

Ohhhh, and did ya see there was a search party in the Toronto harbor for a kid that was suspected to have drowned, they found a shoe floating along that made it's way up from the Niagara Peninsula, don't worry I cleared it all up with the authorities.

Hey anytime I can, I'll be sure to use the nuggets of wisdom except...Grandkids? That would require the girls y'know, one day dating and stuff..

Another night of tennis. But, I stunk it up. Still a far way from consistency.

Last night, I made BLT sandwiches, sweated thru 2 shirts, and lost 2 pounds.

Tonight, DW made frozen ravioli, I sweated thru 2 shirts, and I gained 2 pounds.

I think DW is trying to kill me. :lmao:

Nuggets of wisdom? Better than nuggets from the horse. :lmao:

‘Morning all…
Imagine my surprise when I had to stop what I was doing at work and actually spend all day working.
I’ll have to see if I can keep that from happening again today.

I hate it when they make me work at the office.

I’ve only been able to drive by and ignore the NASCAR Hall of Fame for four years now, but I intent to match your record if I can.
.

Never been to any of the hall of fame. Maybe one day.

:

When in doubt, answer "B". :teacher:

.

I'll never know abou my teeth. I have fillings in most of them. However, after I married DW and moved here, I went to her dentist. I have my teeth cleaned twice a year, X-rays, and a gum depth test. My dentist never did those things.

Back from doctor, and yup, got in trouble. Good cholesterol but blood sugars have gone up and blood pressure won't go down. Three months to regulate or else..:sad2:
:

The önly test I ever failed with my dr was the weight, and I was low on good cholesterol, as I never exercised. I already told my doc I was mad at him, as based on his recommendation to exercise, I hurt my knee. If my BP or A1C goes up after all this exercise, I might smack him in the head. :crazy2:

Top O the morning Dads! Someone step on the accelerator and get us to the holiday weekend :cool1:
.

I give you permission to move to Friday, but accept no consequences for the consequences you encounter at work. ::yes::

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Very familiar. I was a bit "hard" at times with DS when we use to play, wait for it, Star Wars Battlefront and the earlier COD games. I too would receive the "just a game and get over yourself" lectures :rotfl2:

I'm more hard on them when I coached them at outdoor soccer. I only taunt them when we play Wii Sports.

Nothing wrong with going solo. It isn't like, "Well kids, I'm blowing all our vacation money on a trip you will not be on." If you get the opportunity, go for it.
.

And, it's ok to talk to yourself on vacation. If you find yourself answering the voices in your head, you may need to seek help. :thumbsup2 :lmao:

There is a Kentucky joke in here, But I'm going to just let it slide on account of the Team Sparrow code. :lmao:pirate::rotfl2:

I've decided amongst all of the expected chaos with back-to-school and the usual activities, to get myself back into shape. I was doing terrific until right before my knee surgery, but I've slipped in a bad way.
With about 70 days until WDW, I am targeting to shed about 8lbs. The weight is actually a secondary target. I'm more about non scale victories. Things like not snacking at night, eating more veggies and just having a bit more room in when i button my pants\shorts.:crowded:

Morning guys. Another hot day here in Indy. As CJ noted earlier, I too can't wait for football to start. Don't we have a draft coming up for fantasy?
