Andy, sorry to hear about that.

I am out of here. Will try to post a few pics along the way. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Afternoon Fellas, need some advice... So we've decided to get away and will drive down to Vegas next weekend. Since we'll be halfway there, I was seriously thinking about making the drive down to CA for a DLR visit. However, I got in the van the other day, and rolled over 105K, manufacturer's recommendation for a timing belt service... I also found my brake rotors are warped(Thanks Hon... :furious:) So now, do I roll the dice and drive to Disney, or spend my Disney money on that damn van? This decision is actually harder than it should be...
Eh, they are probably being conservative with that 100k suggestion, and being able to stop is overrated... :-)
Honestly, rotors are easy to replace; look it up on YouTube. I know nothing about cars and was able to change them (yes, my breaks work.)

Go for it!

Hey guys. I fell way behind. Sorry Andy for what your going through that sounds like it would be pretty rough.

With DVC, I usually have one or two trips booked and planning at a time. But, instead of booking, you can just plan it. How many days? Which parks? Park order/hopper? ADRs? Which resort? All the fun of planning helps me get by, especially with a meeting with 8 bosses. :crazy2:

We do that but until we actually book it just feels like dreaming not reality.

Howdy Fellow dads hope all is well, I have a question, now that I jumped on annual passes (wish I would have 2 months ago) I now have to decide the best ways to get the most out of them.

We bought APs this year and we didn't make it into the park enough times to pay for them exactly... But we wound up getting our money's worth by using the discount on merchandise. We also got a room discount and free parking when we were staying at my parents.

Rough evening in our house. DW took the kids to get a couple of kittens to bring home. DS named them Sally and Penelope and held them in his lap all the way home. They weren't home an hour before they got into the kennel with the dogs.

Bad enough having to try to explain to a 4 year old that his kittens are dead. Then of course he wants to know why his dogs killed them. He told me before bed that he doesn't like his dogs anymore.

We've never had kittens around. We've got a stray cat that hangs out here but it is apparently mean enough to deal with the dogs.

So sad Andy. Hope your son is OK and someday understands that animals act like that sometimes unfortunately.

Saturday soccer ownage. Won the first soccer game. Went to PKs and youngest dd made her PK. Second game this afternoon.

We do that but until we actually book it just feels like dreaming not reality.
.

Before DVC, close to 10 years ago, we did a bounce back offer and then had to move it. We still kept the discount. I don't know if they do that anymore, but that might be an option.

Thanks for the positive thoughts for DS. He's actually handling it very well today.

Home from soccer tournament game #2.
Bad news - loss 4-2.
Good news - youngest dd scored our only 2 goals.

Worse news - I was on the Soccer Board a few years ago. I voted to spend more money on field maintenance and adjust age divisions. Another guy (not a DisDad) voted to spend the money on a 2nd concession stand grill, more food prep equipment and no on the age divisions. So, I told them they were wrong to be spending the money that way, left the Board, coached two more seasons, and then stopped coaching this season as well. Today, his kid was the Center Ref and completely screwed the team my child was playing on. It wasn't the first time he had done so. Since I don't know the kid at all, I assume his dad is just being a jerk and continues to harbor some vendetta.

Worse news - The fields are closed next season due to insufficient maintenance.

And, I didn't even walk by and say, "I told you so". I just don't get why people act the way they do.

Glad to hear things are better today.

That's good that he's handling it well

Awesome about DD's goals! That's something I've never understood, people think more about expanding then maintenance. At work contractors buy new routes and vans to expand their business (makes sense) but do not account for general maintenance so when the vans break down they are dumb founded. Field maintenance is def key!

Too bad about the loss, good job by DD though.

What age divisions do you guys use?

It was a good day here today. DS and I hit up the Ribfest for a tasty treat and then off to X-Men in 3D.

Fun time and a pretty good version of the movie.

Thanks. Really hard to believe they forgot to re-seed the fields.

Thanks. We do U4, U6, U8, U11, U14, and an Uppers league that rarely has enough to make up a squad. I was trying to go U10, U12. If those wouldn't work, then at least a 11U. With the birthday cut off, there were 8 year olds playing 11 year olds, which is significant in developmental years.

SW the ribs on FB - looked good. I'm hoping to get to see that movie.

Here we go U4, U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 at the rec level. Competitive level starts at U12 but with limited travel and then U13, U14, U16, U18 and U21 at the premiership level.

Those were just the rec numbers. We have other competitive divisions, but I'm not sure of all the breakdowns.

Morning Men.

Today is the last day of Guys weekend, DW returns tonight.
