Happy Father's Day. Happy birthday Scott

Thanks! :thumbsup2

,..Never used a kettle, I have an offset stick burner. Simple rub, course salt, red and black pepper; bout 4 hours at 225 then wrap it for 2 more hours. You just need good cured wood, I use post oak and mesquite.

I've seen quite a few youtube videos showing a similar cooking method to what you just described. I'm definitely going to take a stab at it soon! :thumbsup2

‘Morning all…
A happy Father’s Day birthday to Scott
And a happy Father’s Day in general to the rest of ya’.

OK, so both of those offerings are a day late, but I still hope all of you had a good day.

I might catch up with what happened over the weekend later but it is ADR day... so you know... priorities.

And we’d expect no less.

The good news (for me) is that I am two weeks away from a vacation, including a Red Sox game and a cruise to Bermuda with no kids!!

A cruise with no kids…
There’s something I need to do in the near.

Morning all. Another beautiful day here. My FIL retired on Friday, which I guess is close to the greatest Father's Day of all. He came over for shrimp n grits father's day/ retirement lunch yesterday. He is only 61, but after having the hip replacement and the then gall stones experience, I guess it's enough for him. He'll continue to get health insurance through work (40 years aluminum plant), pension, and then his retirement savings.

Congrats to your FIL. Now that he has time for himself, may he be able to enjoy as much of it as possible.

Good morning!

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day.

Good luck with those ADR's... Whatcha booking???

Morning Guys, welcome to another Monday.

Have a good one.

Awesome... what cruise line / ship?

Good morning and trust all had a good Father's Day - you all earned it. Speaking of, have to share the card I got from DS. It's a pop up card from Jungle Book with the scene singing I Wan'na Be Like You and it plays the song with a press of the button.

DD hits her 6 week mark from surgery so she will start some weight bearing tomorrow at therapy which is great but she is gonna hurt. I get a short work week but due to getting other kidney blasted to break up stones on Friday.

Good morning!

Even my nemesis gets it. Go figure...

Well, we're going with a focus on character meals. So I'm sure DD will freak and hate them all. :rotfl2: Had an availability for Be Our Guest and it was hard to not book it, but it just wasn't something we're all that interested in using an ADR for. We'll definitely go for lunch though. We feel like it is a much better lunch option than dinner.

Garden Grill Dinner - hope to cancel and book a Candlelight Processional package later
Tusker House Breakfast
Whispering Canyon Dinner
Cinderella Royal Table Dinner
Via Napoli Dinner
Hollywood & Vine Breakfast - Swore I would never eat there again after our 2008 trip, but with Sofia and Jake there... well, gotta do it for the kids. :faint:
Mama Melrose Fantasmic! package
Dinner with Chef Mickey on our way from MK back to the parking lot to leave.

Nice which cruiseline?

Congrats to FIL

That is a cool card.

Good luck to your DD and to you on that Friday Blast. Should set up the weekend nicely. ;)

We are cruising like a Norwegian. I wonder if it will be like Maelstrom?

Wonder why no greeting from the Duck this morning. Think he might be a little busy today?

Had a nice Father's Day. Started with a lazy morning and a full breakfast. The Princess got me a classic Mickey shirt and a couple of cards. We then watched "Life with Father" with William Powell (a favorite of mine). Ventured out to the AMC to see Chef. Good movie and more than a couple of laughs.

The evening did not go as well. I bought BBQ from a new restaurant at the mall. The pulled pork was good, the sauce was vinegar based which is not my favorite, the beans were Ok and the corn bread was too sweet. Disappointed but it is hard to find good BBQ here. And then of course I sat down to watch the Heat. TV was off by the middle of the 3rd quarter.

Good morning!

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day.

Good luck Andy getting what you want. Of course you need to post your ADRs here so we can praise/trash your decisions.

Sucks to be you Darcy. Have a great time.

Nice makeover. I was so glad for the days of the little kids birthday parties to be done.

We have had some bad storms every day for the last few days with isolated flooding and down trees. But once they go away, the rest of the day is nice. Congrats to your FIL and wish him a happy retirement.

Morning guys!

Morning Paul. Still need to make room reservations for the end of July. Prices are more than I was expecting but will figure it out. Trying to find somewhere near the Commons area.

Shhhh... my boss has no clue as to what I do... so as long as he thinks I work in sports, he'll continue to approve the expense report... ;)
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Good luck with that one. :thumbsup2

A very early good morning.

I took this picture in 2011 near our room at the AKL Kidani Village. It struck me as funny and a representation of how fathers are treated differently than mothers. Yes, I get the metaphor; mirror/reflection of the dad blah, blah blah. My take was a bit different. Mom is compared to a rare precious metal while dad is a cheap piece of glass. Can't we at least be a gilded mirror?

A good dad doesn't do his job for recognition but rather out of a sense of responsibility. Yes, we are often made fun of whether it is on the TV or at home and we are Ok with that. We all know the best (and toughest) job we will ever have is being a dad.

Happy Father's Day to some of the best fathers I know.
That really is kind of a cool statement.

Although I have to say I appreciate your interpretation of it as much as its intended meaning. :lmao::rotfl2:

Hey SCOTT
Looks like I missed the party, but happy belated Birthday.

DD was very sweet for Father's Day, she made some stuff for me which I love more then anything and she also decided to give me a Father's Day make-over... See if you can guess what famous celeb she made me over as.
Happy Father's Day Olaf! Try not to melt.

I hope David and the kids all enjoyed their first night together at home!

Monday morning no working ownage.

No internet at work today. So, I'll play on my phone awhile, take a nap, and then go get the dds and have some fun this afternoon. DW wanted both in summer camp activities so they didn't sit around and get fat like me. Oldest is at swim now and youngest at soccer.

Hope all you guys had a great Father's Day. We started off the festivities Saturday morning - forecast was calling for rain on Sunday, so the wife declared Saturday to be Father's Day Part 1. We went to a small railroad museum that operates about 10 miles of old inter-urban electric rail. Road an open air trolley to a farmers market/restaurant/country store type of place. The apple pie was home made and the cookies as big as my head, so I'm not complaining. Road some restored Chicago Elevated cars from the 30's back to the depot.

Then the fun began.

We were in the neighborhood anyway, so we swung by to look at a wooden backyard playset we found on craigslist. Paid the guy $140, borrowed a friend's trailer, and hauled it home that day. It didn't fit through the gate into the backyard, so I removed a fence panel and sacrificed some of DW's lilies to get the behemoth in place. Spent yesterday modifying it with additional bracing and sandbox under the elevated fort. DW mentioned on Facebook about not many dad's "giving up" Father's day to spend it building a swingset. Little does she know that I'll be playing in it just as much as the kids. :thumbsup2

Sorry I'm late - Happy Birthday Scott

Nice grouping. We will be planning Candlelight Processional as well for our December trip - they normally open this up by July 10 each year. Upcoming July trip has a couple in common with Tusker House and Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package.

Thanks and let us know how Norwegian is. We have only cruised Disney.

Cool card. Good luck to your daughter, hope it doesn't hurt too much. And have fun getting blasted.
Thanks - at least second time around I know what to expect :scared1:

Now that is a great story and perfect way to spend Father's Day - well done sir. :worship:

13+ years and you don't think she knows? :lmao: She knows, Barry. We all know.

Guys-

I need MNSSHP advice. I can go to the party on Oct 30 or 31. Does it make a difference? The number of hard tickets for the event should be the same, right? Not sure how to make this decision.

Thinking the 31st will be busier. Last year we went 11/1 and had a blast.

I agree with Randall. I'm sure 10/31 will likely sell out and be crowded. But you're close enough to Halloween that 10/30 would likely be pretty close to a sell out if it doesn't get there itself.

I'm not sure it matters much, but if crowd levels are a big concern, I'd say 10/30 will give you a better chance.

Happy belated birthday Scott!

Well you certainly won't be able to claim that you didn't see any characters!

Sounds like Father's Day got extended in Kentucky.

Building a tree fort? Yesterday counts as play time.:thumbsup2

We are cruising like a Norwegian. I wonder if it will be like Maelstrom?

Only if you inexplicably see trolls and oil rigs on the same trip.:confused3
