TGIF, been a heck of week. Will be out of the office early today to pick up DS, DW and DD's are headed to Disney on Ice this afternoon. As much as I love Disney, I can't get into the ice skating deal, so DS and I will be headed out for something manly... any ideas?

Anyone in here have any experience with those fitness tracker thingies? Fitbit, Jawbone, Nike Fuel Band, etc.. I bought the Fitbit Flex a few months ago for the wifey but syncing it to her phone was problematic. We returned it and now we have a $100 at BestBuy to spend. Any advice?

I'm just about to pick up the kids and then disappear from the boards until Monday or Tuesday again.

You still get money from your grandma? Lucky duck. So when are we going golfing?

She gives all her kids, grandkids (and spouses) and great-grand kids $100 for their birthday and Christmas. She says she'll do it until she's in a nursing home.

I already donate plasma.

I've seriously looked into doing this but the closest place is over 60 miles away. It would kill half my day to do it.

My wife has a Fitbit and loves it but she loves swearing at technology.

We liked all the things that the Fitbit is supposed to do, but syncing with a windows phone was tedious. Also it would sometimes say that she had zero active minutes even after a long run or workout. Still, we may give fitbit another shot.

Just wanted to say hello, I haven't been by in real loooooong time, but I'm planning a family trip to WDW in May and we're bringing my granddaughter (5) and my mother as well. First time for both of them. The thought of introducing WDW to new people has me stoked and I'm all over the sites I used to frequent. I've always been more of a lurker than poster, but I've been back checking out DIS Dads and there is no bunch of folks quite like DIS Dads!!! This group is awesome

Congrats on the pin. If you find a way to get the $$ let me know. Booked our plane tickets (using SW points. 4 flights to WDW for free........priceless.) this morning for the trip and got a great deal on the rental car through Alamo ($216 total for the 8 days). This is 3 years in a row I have had enough points to get the free flights.

I keep trying to talk DW into us getting a SouthWest rewards card, but she is anti-SouthWest for some reason. Maybe I can get her to at least get an American Airlines reward card so we can start getting rewards towards our vacation flights.

I heard rumors that the new iWatch (or whatever Apple is going to call it) will have all the fitness tracker stuff built in. But it probably won't be available until the Fall.

I keep trying to talk DW into us getting a SouthWest rewards card, but she is anti-SouthWest for some reason. Maybe I can get her to at least get an American Airlines reward card so we can start getting rewards towards our vacation flights.

It really does help with the costs of traveling. We normally take 2 good sized vacations a year. Booking one with the card and then our normal expenses usually means the other trip we save $1-2K off the air travel. Pretty sure that by the time we get to the trip in August, I'll have enough points to pay for another trip somewhere else.

It's not always the best rewards payout, but we know we'll use whatever we earn towards vacations so it works out for us. Others have said all along that you can get more back if you look around, but in reality, the likelihood that I would use those rewards to take time off are pretty low.

So I am torn. I already have a blue magic band and on our split stay I have customized for a orange and a yellow... I just found out I can get one for being an annual pass holder with a slider for having a AP. I am torn on color. I really like the blue and I would not mind having 2 but there are different colors. That I don't have.... Any thoughts?

In a side note I really just want the slider. But this is the only way I can think to get it.

Last night in Florida, we fly home in the morning. I got a round of golf in this morning at Grand Cyprus. Happy with a 98 after not playing for 6 months and using clubs belonging to someone else. Started strong (just about drove the green on 1), had a terrible middle and scrambled to finish with some decent holes. The one big minus for that day was that it was flippin' cold, 59 degrees when we finished just after lunch. That's not the Florida weather I was looking for.

Overall it was a great trip and now I can look forward to our cruise in July.

I haven't thought much about the MBs yet because I don't like wearing things on my wrist. Our first set are arriving this week, buti just ordered the same colors for the October trip. I have all my old KTTW cards, MNSSHP tickets, etc and my plan is to make a print out of them, with a Disney design in the middle. I don't know what I'm doing with the MBs.

My golf clubs have sat in my garage so long that maybe they accumulated 98 spider webs. Sounds like you had a great trip. Have a sad trip home.

Oh yeah. If she spent money on this, I'm not sure things would be going so well. My mom paid for the trip since it was her idea- so that's good. But 2 weeks of mom cramping our style (if you know what I mean) is a bit of a drag. Yep. A colonoscopy, some college tuitions and a rocking chair. But hey- I'll get to make those catch-up payments on the 401k! Yes! The trip is back to a full go. DD the younger is doing great so the local grandparents aren't at all worried about watching her.
