Here's one for the advice givers. The DW and I will be driving down in May. Our Reservations start on Wednesday, so I was thinking of leaving very early Tues morning, getting to Orlando between 10-midnight, spend overnight in a motel/hotel on I4 and then get a fresh start Wednesday morning. Any suggestions for a place, maybe in the Universal area? I was thinking a suite since one of us is a noisy sleep and two room might be more expensive.

Pre-trip Planning is coming together. Give a read and open to suggestions (post on the pre-trip report if you like). I have to read up on what's new in all the parks to-do. Like looking for the hidden things, any new fun things (we did the Kim Possible @ Epcot in 2009)...

Not sure about the suite requirement, but we did the same thing in 2008. That was 6 years ago and things change, but for what its worth...We decided to spend the night at the Comfort Suites at Universal Studios (Major Blvd) and it was nice and comfy for the night. The breakfast was so-so, but it was free. We left early the next morning to hit Disney.

Why yes, yes I did! :lmao:

Actually, I follow a weather forecaster on facebook that covers our area. They forecast pretty darn accurately compared to some of the local newscasters.

Looks like they use paint to do their maps!

We probably have 8-10 inches on the ground right now....we're gonna start running out of room to put it unless we have a warm snap soon to melt some of it off!

Think Warm! :beach:

It's normal New England weather. Yesterday snow and 29 degrees. Today almost 40 degrees and sunny. Tomorrow cold again with 8-10 inches of snow. Back to decent weather on Thursday and Friday and then more snow on Saturday and Sunday. At this point I just wish it would make up it's mind. :headache:

In 26 days I will be sitting by the pool sipping a refreshing beer, no need for drinks with umbrellas. :lmao:

Nice to see your kids are playing hard. As long as they don't give it up it's a win.

I heard the beer at the all inclusive is local and not very good, that's the reason for the fruity drinks. There is also a plan for a significant number of those drinks on a daily basis. The vodka has a lot less calories than the beer.:thumbsup2

Yes, they definitely play hard. DS has to try out for high school next year and it will be tough as our school is D1 and a lot of good athletes. He has plans to work on hoops all year (in between baseball games of course) so he should be OK. It would be nice if he would grow a few inches and have puberty hit hard like the rest of the kids his age.

Continued good luck to Declan in his games.

Good afternoon. Finally had a few minutes to pop in and say hi. From the looks of things, I must not be the only one a little bit swamped today. :lmao:

When you say Midwest, do you mean our Midwest? Or the arctic circle?

Yesterday high was 40, today 73, freeze tonight, high tomorrow 35. You Canadians are giving my weatherman tourettes. Make up your mind if you want to send down the cold air or not.
We have had 2ice days so far and may have another Friday. My girls will be in school till June.

System is moving up from the states, making its way Northeast. Going to suck up moisture on its way here from the Great Lakes, meaning more snow. Even the kids are ready for winter to end. Only 18 months till Disney!:sad2:

I gotta laugh at myself. LCBO posted via twitter and FB a picture of a ceramic blue and white ornate bottle asking if anyone can guess what is was. Feeling a bit like stirring the pot I responded "a bottle" Noticed the whole post has mysteriously disappeared. :rotfl2:

Congrats Mark!!! Glad to see everyone is doing well.

Now it's time to plan his first trip!!pixiedust:

Thanks Nick! I like the way you think!

Captain obvious: congrats on the baby, thank goodness he got his looks from his momma.

Amen to that.

We do this a lot. We've stayed at lake buena vista plaza ( in downtown disney) a few times. We also stayed in a comfort inn that was Just barely off property. (By the IHOP. )
It was nice, and like $50/ night.

This year, we are staying at campsites at fort wilderness. I figure, one night, why not?
But our May trip is Memorial Day. If that is in your window, we could schedule a meet.

Tuesday snowy night ownage.

Lots of snow here.

-6 right now with a high of 10. Want to trade?

Freezing rain/ice/snow mix. Still won't trade.

No advice. We drive all night, arrive at 7:00 AM, in order to avoid hotel. I told DW that we should try to arrive at 12:01 AM as that would be the day of our check in, and then sleep in the lobby.

Once you drink enough of that free beer, it is good enough.

Drove home in th bad weather - 35 miles of it raining, 40 miles of sleet. The last 10 miles, I had to reduce my speed from 65 to 45 mph to not slide off the road. I'm drinking now.

Cool, indoor mini Sharknadoes!

On a cool aside, I noticed they are going to air Shark Avalanche again soon.:hyper:

Trouble maker.

:lmao::lmao:

I really didn't think much of it. I posted it within 26 seconds of going on the live feed A minute later the whole thing is gone. They pulled CM Punk and just took their ball and went home. At the worst I thought they'd just kill my comment. :rotfl2: Our Ontario Government at it's best.

I haven't had much time to play on the boards the last few days… I hope everyone is doing well and hope all my N.E. dads are getting ready to shovel tomorrow and possibly Sunday.

We have booked a 4 night split stay at the world.
that's nice! :thumbsup2

Hey guys,

Thanks for all of the prayers and congratulations on the birth of our son, Drew. It was great to see so many of you sharing in our excitement.

I apologize for my absence from the boards lately, and as a peace offering I present a cute baby picture:

What an adorable baby! Well done! :thumbsup2

So... about the time they're mathematically eliminated? :confused3 :rolleyes1
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Morning guys... watching that next winter storm creep its way across the Midwest heading this way
'bout to get slammed here tomorrow with 6-10'' of snow then a 1/4 in+ of sleet and ice to top it off. Someone bring back the 0 degree temps!

I heard Sunday could be nothing to 30+ inches. Way to narrow it down- again. :crazy2:

However, they like to water down those drinks. Sometimes you are better to order on the rocks or just order that beer.

Sorry DW isnt feeling good. Long time no see nemie. -6 right now with a high of 10. Want to trade?
Hey nemie. I've been planking and pushing up which was originally for fitness. Apparently, since Canada ran out space for its snow, they sent it to the Midwest for me to shovel and throw. Seriously Canada, of bieber and Celine dion and snow, I'm rethinking whether you are our ally
