Evening everyone... Still under the deep freeze but no snow, hope it stays that way. Looks like DW got the flu, figures, when I'm on nights and cant be around to help. Crazy with that shooting news, I hadn't heard about it yet, but got home not long ago. Prayers to all involved.

I've done it a couple times. Getting on the plane isn't an issue, it's getting up after sitting down for 3 hours...

I can understand that. Not sure trying to get 3 kids off the plane, while I can't walk, is a good idea.

But, I'll be heading to WDW this weekend and hoping for warmer weather.

I've heard from my sister. As I suspected she was in the animal science building which is as far as she could possibly be across campus from where the shooting took place. She said they have ended the lockdown with the exception of the Electrical Engineering building, which is where the shooting took place.

Glad to hear she is ok Andy. These have to stop.

Got an upcoming-trip question for y'all... which reminds me, I need to change my ticker to something more positive.
I've customized our Magic Bands, which MDE tells me needs to be done by Jan 30th. Actually, that's been done for about 2 weeks. Question is, are they going to wait until Jan 30th to ship them, or do I have to click a button or something?
I'm not in a rush or anything, but I don't want them to not send them if they're waiting on me to do something.

Whew! I've been just keeping up with things by skimming through at night before bed. Prayers to those in need. We got ~20" of lake effect snow between midnight last night and noon today. Luckily it was light and fluffy so the snowblower ate it up with ease. The drive to work this morning was a bit hairy with visibility through the blizzard left it difficult to see the car in front of me. Now the temps are dropping. I'm about done with winter....

Gonna get cold here tonight and stay cold into next week with a slight weekend warmup. Glad I haven't started running yet.

So far we got about 10inches of snow and it's still coming down strong
I've done my driveway and sidewalks twice, also did my elder neighbors sidewalk and driveway so it should be easy going on the shoveling tomorrow

Luckily I'm off tomorrow, school is already closed so my wife and son will also be home, sometime tomorrow I'll go to my parents house and do their sidewalks and driveway

I do have to say we have a AWESOME plow guy this time he has been around 4 times now and is doing the whole road all the way across getting right up to the driveway, the town wanted all cars off the road and the few that didn't bother to move them are getting plowed in big time

She just turned 20, give her another 20 years of it and she will dislike it as much as the rest of us.

She made snow angels with her roommate but it was not good snowball making material. Since she does not have to shovel it, drive in it and has breaks in Florida, snow is still a novelty.

Congrats and ya missed a heck of a game between the Bruins and Hawks Sunday.

Saw some of the highlights. You picked a good weekend to watch the games! Bruins have been a little off, but looks like there getting back in sync. They lost to Toronto for Pete's sake.

Nope, nothing to do. Just sit back and wait for the hardware to arrive. They will usually ship them a few weeks before the trip from what I have seen. We already customized ours and we have until July to do it. I'm sure we'll change it between now and then.

Well, at least you get a tie. I got a cupcake last year. My wonderful DD made me a picture and I got to spend a few hours just the two of us so that makes it a good day.

Sorry to hear about that for her and also sorry you can’t be there to look after her as much as you’d like.
Work interferes with what we’d rather be doing more often than not. May this be a milder form of the beast and may she heal up quickly.

Sherlock = AWESOME

I started to watch the 1st Sherlock today on Netflix and after 1:02 minutes, I was hooked.

So I watched the first episode last night. Very good stuff. I think the wife and I can get in to this. But are there really only three episodes in the first season? I got a 2-dvd set from the library and it looks like there are only 3 episodes total. And one other thing- based on their awkward interaction in the cafe, are we supposed to assume that either Watson or Sherlock are gay?
