Afternoon and good luck to all the runners this weekend. Been watching all the posts of FB and I can officially say that for the first time since the whole thing with Dad went down, I am insanely jealous of you all. Only 20 months to go!

Good morning guys. Been traveling this week, Chicago, because a temp of 3 here in Nashville area when I left wasn't cold enough for me :crazy2: I do not miss that weather despite going back up their next weekend for 4 days with DS to catch a couple of Blackhawk games - including the Bruins on Sunday Jan 20th.

All the best and safe travels for those able to hit DDC2.

Hmmm. Against the Bruins you say? Better bring something to wipe the tears away when we beat you.:lmao::lmao:

Just scored free hockey tickets for this weekend. They are having a special event for sponsors, suite tickets and a reception with the players after the game.

It just better be a great game as I had to go the StubHub route for tix. We are also going to the Friday night game vs the Anaheim but we got those seats for free. So a Blackhawks / hockey sandwich with a visit to the Museum of Science & Industry and the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit in the middle.

Good snag - few more weeks after football (help us all) and it will be the heart of the hockey season starting with the Olympics and then the final playoff push.

Free tickets are always good. Looks like you have some extra perks as well.

Hope everyone is starting to thaw out there. It is 64 and raining here today.

It was around 37 and sleeting here about 30 minutes ago.

Just so you know, I do read all of the posts here (think it's my job or something).
:

That is almost as bad as reading and replying to many of them.

Quoting the Bard I see…
Amazing how his writings transcend time and cultural differences.

“Beer: The cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems.”
?

But, beer was not the cause of any problems. It was not having enough beer that is the cause of problems.

Will they let you race on a scooter???

I would think they would make an exceptin for Santa Ho.

I'm sorry. All alcohol imports from anyone with TIKI in his/her username must be sent to my house for sampling and approval prior to distribution. Unfortunately the samples will be gone once completed so unlikely to make it to KY.

Nope, I called it first.

You'd be surprised at how fast they learn once they get it. They all develop at different speeds. DD is not as good in school as DS, but when SHE decides to do it, she is quite capable. I think she's sandbagging looking for incentives.:confused3:lmao::lmao:.

She gets her laziness from me. I haven't worked a full week in over 7 years. Unfortunately, at my state university, excellence isn't recognized or promoted. So, I just do my work efficiently and go home. I probably should just go work elsewhere, but I just enjoy being lazy.

Afternoon guys,

Race one is done, three to go. I decided not to try to start, the legs are not up for it. Raining outside and was beat because I haven't slept in two days so took a nap and we are chilling in the room. Waiting for SIL to arrive. NOOOOOOO!

Some pics

The pool at the Holiday Inn from Tuesday night.

The leftovers from our dinner at the HI lounge. The pork sliders and bruschetta were very good.

The Expo yesterday. Even though we were there near opening, it still was crowded.

The goal

Went to the Magic Kingdom for a bit. Had lunch at Columbia Harbor House and rode Space Mountain and Buzz

Last night we went to Downtown Disney to stop at the Fit and Run store and have dinner. I wanted to try the new food truck that serves hand dipped corn dogs.

Instead we went to Splitsville for dinner

Up early to get to the race. It was a bit cold out (yea I know, but we are wimpy Floridians)

Ready to run

After the race we had breakfast at Ariel's that the Mickey Miles podcast hosted. Ran into Eric and his wife and we sat and chatted with them. They are both also doing the Dopey.

Mike and Michelle from the MM Podcast. The Pirate Princess enjoyed it because she was able to meet and talk to other running nuts.

Tonight dinner somewhere and I am going to try to make the ESPN meet. If I do, I will talk to Aaron about posting on Tumbler.

Tired from lack of sleep but we are having fun. Up again tomorrow at insane o'clock for the 10K. She is running in costume so I hope the rain holds off.

Glad things are off to a good start and you're enjoying yourself. Good luck to the pirate princess and all the rest of the runners. The cold really shouldn't bother her much anymore though. I'm sure she's glad she wasn't at school this week for the polar vortex crap.

What kind of costume do you wear for a 10k? Is there a shiv involved with it?

Hope all you guys are having fun.

Maybe next year I won't have a trial in the middle of the fun...

:rotfl::lmao:

The family is back under one roof again. SWMBO and DS brought colds but DD is healthy so far. Looks like tomorrow may be a sick day for school though they are caught up to where they wanted to be for the year. Still further along than the local public school kids. The public school is closed again tomorrow because of sleet, rain and ice that remains on the back roads. They haven't had school since before Christmas. :scared1:

Drama again at work. At least I made it one week into 2014 before it began. I'm not one of the principal players, but the outcome has the potential to significantly effect my program. I'm getting too old for such shenanigans.

Best wishes to all those running the next few days. You will be ready for the zombie apocalypse. As a proud Team Sparrow member, I am going to call it an early night with some cherry brandy spiked hot cocoa and a good book and listen to the sleet and rain.

OK... I normally don't spend much time on Facebook, but I have been on there a little more than normal recently. I just saw that my sister's dog has his own Facebook page. Yes, my sister's dog...

Is this a sign that I need to spend more time on Facebook or does it mean I should just delete the app and stay away?

Best of luck to the Pirate Princess on her race:cheer2:pirate: I'm not sure what running in costume means though:confused3

How many of those food trucks do they have in DTD and does each one serve something different:confused3

How did you like the food at Splitzville:confused3, after eating there last summer, it is now one of our top places at DTD to eat:yay:
