Whoo hooo!!! Got some great news today. Youngest DD got referred to the gifted and talented program at school. She starts the testing next week to see which classes she will be advanced into next year. Her teacher says she is a shoe-in for math because she already has to go get 2nd and 3rd grade worksheets for her to work on while she teaches the rest of the class so she doesn't get bored. Probably going to make it in science too.

Will you go back and watch the whole series? I've done that a few times with shows I never bothered to watch when they were on the air. I just check them out of the library. I did that with "Battestar Gallactica" and would say that was probably the best series I've ever watched. Unbelievably good. Just recently we finished up "Alias". It took me a little time to warm up to it, but we really liked that one too. Last year we got caught up on Downton Abbey just to see what all the buzz was about. Good show and we're following that one. I also think we're about to start watching the BBC show "Sherlock". I've heard good stuff about that.

Another good show is Doctor Who the newer stuff at least I havent watched the older stuff

They were at the bottom of the Pacific at the end... that's pretty deep.

Fair enough can't argue with that logic.

And I wish I could go down there and pay just a bit too much for one of those beers right now.

Work can be a real hindrance to enjoyment.
If it weren’t for that whole needing the compensation thing, I’d skip it entirely.
Hope that things clear up enough in the near for you to partake of some future excursions.

Work shall not get in the way of my February trip to the Dominican or my August WDW trip. Both are paid for and non refundable as far as work is concerned. The bonus is that while in the Dominican, my cell phone will not work without paying a lot of $$. The CFO (me) has decided it is cost prohibitive to pay for access:good vibes and thus no interruptions while I drink fruity umbrella drinks and cook evenly on both sides.

Just found out DS has his final baseball tournament over July 4th week in NY. June 30 is our year end so kind of bummed that I most likely will be staying home. It's his last baseball event before he goes to high school so was hoping to go.

I had always heard how great the Norwegian beer was (Carlsberg?). I tried one last month for about $9. Pretty good but not worth all the fuss.

Carlsberg is Danish.

All I know is they sold it at the Norway pavillion in EPCOT. Maybe Norway invaded and took over the Danes' beer.

It defines how you define compensation. I, like most, think you work, invest your money, and retire to WDW. But, what is had just went to work inside WDW or live in my camper in front of CJs house and mooch off him. There has to be a better way.

The lottery has drawings 7 days a week.

For the record, I think you should be sending beer samples my way.

I'm sorry. All alcohol imports from anyone with TIKI in his/her username must be sent to my house for sampling and approval prior to distribution. Unfortunately the samples will be gone once completed so unlikely to make it to KY.

DS13 is in the advanced classes and we expect that he will be in accelerated classes next year when he hits high school. He's basically a walking encyclopedia and let's us know it as often as possible.

Great job by DD and good luck! As an earlier dad stated, hard work by both your DD and you as parents should be rewarded.

Mine won't be giving yours any competition. I was doing math homework with my 9 year old and asked her how much 3 quarters was worth. She said $.70. She won't be making that program anytime soon.

You'd be surprised at how fast they learn once they get it. They all develop at different speeds. DD is not as good in school as DS, but when SHE decides to do it, she is quite capable. I think she's sandbagging looking for incentives.

Good morning guys. Been traveling this week, Chicago, because a temp of 3 here in Nashville area when I left wasn't cold enough for me I do not miss that weather despite going back up their next weekend for 4 days with DS to catch a couple of Blackhawk games - including the Bruins on Sunday Jan 20th.
