‘Morning all…
Frustrating morning so far but not near as cold today so I got that going for me…
Which is nice.

Safe travels to all those headed to the World.
Of course once you get there, I’ll hate you as much as the rest that are already down there, but you should still have a great time.

I figured the only acceptable strategy was to keep our heads down and try to wish away the next several years.:confused3

Never wish time away, you don’t get that back (and you weren’t granted enough in the first place).

Besides, all this stuff should be old hat to y’all…
I suspect you’ll have everything in a state of controlled chaos in fairly short order.

Morning guys. Keep warm and safe omn the roads. Watched loads of people unable to negotiate stops on top of hills this morning. Slipped on icy roads myself and fell. DW's reaction :"Are you okay? Did you hurt your hip? You're getting old now..":headache: That's it, I'm having a nap now:rotfl2:

You’ll never be older than me, so you not old (at least that’s the way I explain it to my DW).
Enjoy the nap though.

Morning gents...hope everyone headed down has a safe and fun trip!

Will

Welcome back!

Jim-Feel bad for you

To all of you that enjoyed my trials and tribulations when the Pirate Princess was a young teen, revenge is mine. Insert evil laugh. Have any questions or need advice on how to deal with it, ask me. Then do the opposite because I certainly didn't know what I was doing.

Thanks. At least for now, she's still daddy's little girl. The mood swings seem to be directed more at my wife than I. Of course, you know what happens in the end. I get blamed for all of it anyway.:faint:

This is not cool at all. My DD is 9 and already showing signs of maturity. I swear it gives me an ulcer just thinking about it.

The ulcers will be the least of your problems. At least those you can get taken out and you'll get a few days peace. The other issues just keep coming. :rolleyes1

It's funny that DD11 is 5'3" and my wife is now worried (for basketball reasons) that her growing will stop.:confused3 Looking at her build and the size of her feet I am guessing at least 5'8", maybe more. :thumbsup2

Oh great… good to know I have something to look forward to. :badpc:

My advice: Don't let them grow up!

Good Morning Men!

Hey Randall! A little warmer down there today or is it still freezing for FL?

Morning guys,

Change of plans for today. We were going to hit rope drop at the MK but DD decided to sleep in. I was OK with it considering she is going to have to get up at insane o'clock the next four days. Tested the fastpass+ out and was able to change our morning ones for the afternoon. Pretty easy and makes me like this system more.

Went to the Boardwalk to check in and soon heading down to breakfast. When the Princess wakes up, we will go to the Expo and get the race stuff and then the MK.

Stay warm and safe everyone.

Are you running as well or just the PP? Have a great time and pictures would be welcome! Good luck to all that are running.

Morning guys!

Been awhile since I posted, Im trying to get back in the swing of things. Hoping things will slow down some now at work, but it seems that keep adding things as I clear them off the list.

Got back from WDW about a week ago now. Still feeling the post trip blues. HS was awesome for New Years eve, the whole family had a blast. Wife got pulled to participate in Indiana Jones and Im pretty sure we saw Johny Depp walking around the park incognito.

Matt

Good Morning Matt. Glad you had a good trip. It would be cool to see JD. We saw Sahquille O'Neil on one trip. He was in MK with his family.

Good Morning Everyone!!

Colder than some of you, but not all of you, so I won't complain about it, but just share my joy at the fact that in about 12 hours we'll be landing in weather significantly warmer!!

Still a big, OUCH!!! That's cold. Safe travels and good luck in the race.

The compassion is evident.:lmao::lmao: DW fell a couple of weeks ago and is still complaining she hurt her arm/shoulder. I told her she should go to the doctor and have it checked. She keeps asking me to look at it and my response has been….."If you can move it, it's not broken".:rotfl2::rotfl2: She is not amused.

Afternoon fellas. Just watched Pacific Rim, and I have to say it's pretty good!
I saw Elysium last night. It was a stinking pile of crap.

Remember back when they were in diapers, cried all the time and wouldn't sleep through the night? I'm afraid that was the easy part.

Oh, I know. The time is going by way too quickly as it is.

That's why plan B is beer.:thumbsup2

Well, guess I won't be renting that one.

My wife and I actually got sucked into watching Breaking Bad. It's very dark and very adult, but wow...very good. And Justified is back on the air now, my favorite show. I'm finding more interesting stuff on TV than in the theaters lately.

Will you go back and watch the whole series? I've done that a few times with shows I never bothered to watch when they were on the air. I just check them out of the library. I did that with "Battestar Gallactica" and would say that was probably the best series I've ever watched. Unbelievably good. Just recently we finished up "Alias". It took me a little time to warm up to it, but we really liked that one too. Last year we got caught up on Downton Abbey just to see what all the buzz was about. Good show and we're following that one. I also think we're about to start watching the BBC show "Sherlock". I've heard good stuff about that.

To all the guys down in WDW right now, see you tomorrow! :woohoo:

To the rest of you; Now's a good time to come down with a 3/4 day "cold" that requires some warm weather treatments... ;)

Well, AMC showed every episode in order from the beginning in a marathon lead-up to the finale, so we DVR'd the entire series and started from episode 1. With Justified, we saw the first two seasons on DVD and then have watched in on broadcast since then. Both series were worth watching from the beginning.

I've actually never seen Battlestar Galactica (except for the old cheesy series). I really liked Alias, but I thought it went downhill and got really ridiculous in the last season or so. Not that it wasn't ridiculous to begin with, but it became more noticeable as time went on.

Sherlock is fantastic. You won't regret watching that one.

“Sherlock” is good… very good.
The American version of it - “Elementary” – ain’t bad either; especially for something on a broadcast network.

I've been debating on “Abbey” but don’t know if I can get into it or not.
I’m just a might picky when it comes to television.

The “cold that requires some warm weather treatments” bit of it ain’t the problem.
It’s that there pesky money part of the equation that is gumming up the works.

Liked "Justified" up until it got to the end of the original short story.
Not so sure about it now.

As for “Battlestar”, I was just the right age to watch that one when it first came out way back when.
Needless to say, I was pretty scared by how pitifully bad that was.
Put me off of trying the new one.

Your review for Sherlock is spot on though.

Just watch the two-hour pilot episode. You'll be hooked.

Really?
Hummmmm…

I started watching it on Netflix but haven't got back to it. DW has got me started on Homeland and Sherlock Holmes now; still trying to get time to watch Revolution as well.

Uh oh. The kids are going to have to start fending for themselves with all these shows I need to watch.

Really? I don't think there's a more entertaining show on TV right now. The dialogue just sings.

Whew. At least I got that one right. Oddly, I haven't watched Elementary, because the BBC version is so good it's kind of spoiled me for any other versions.

Oh, I know. The time is going by way too quickly as it is.

I'm going with plan B. They sell Beer in the World Showcase, right?

Safe Travels! I was supposed to be down in the FL area the next two weeks, but now not sure when. The &^%%@(# has hit the fan around here so very busy. No way to take a separate trip. Have fun.

Hummm… May need to nurse it a bit more then. Don’t read too much into my not liking something though. I have a very long and notorious habit of getting over one series or another about two or three years before everyone else does. I’m also very picky about my viewing choices. Even if it’s a good story and/or well written… if I don’t particularly like the characters, I’ll drop it rather quickly.

If you like it, you like it. My opinion don’t really much matter now do it?
I’d say I’m outright ignored by many several of the folks that frequent this club house.

Now, as for “Elementary”, don’t compare it to “Sherlock” or even to the original books. Yes, the main protagonist has the prerequisite powers of observation and utterly broken personality, but all the other characters are very different. If you were to give it a chance, approach it as being a different story from Doyle’s creation rather than a modern reimagination of the original.

I'm going with plan B. They sell Beer in the World Showcase, right?

Yes… yes they do.
And I wish I could go down there and pay just a bit too much for one of those beers right now.

Work can be a real hindrance to enjoyment.
If it weren’t for that whole needing the compensation thing, I’d skip it entirely.
Hope that things clear up enough in the near for you to partake of some future excursions.

Again- try the first few episodes. It's just very different from anything I had watched before. If nothing else it's a neat way to learn a little history.

I've wasted a lot of my life in front of the tv so I can speak with a little authority on this topic. This was actually time well spent. I'm not really a sci-fi fan but you don't have to be at all to enjoy this show. I'm actually jealous of those of you who haven't seen it yet. You get to enjoy it for the first time. There are very few things in the entertaiment world that I would say that about- a few exceptional Batman graphic novels, Godfather 1 and 2, and this show (plus Guns 'n Roses "Appetite"- but I digress). I think it was that good.

It also helps that I watched this shortly after "LOST" ended. That show meandered a ton over the years, but every episode of Battlestar moved the story forward a good amount. After Lost, I was really able to appreciate that.

Yes… yes they do.
And I wish I could go down there and pay just a bit too much for one of those beers right now.

I had always heard how great the Norwegian beer was (Carlsberg?). I tried one last month for about $9. Pretty good but not worth all the fuss.

All I know is they sold it at the Norway pavillion in EPCOT. Maybe Norway invaded and took over the Danes' beer.
