Evening Guys,

Hope you all are having a great day. We had 2 visitations today for my Uncle; no problem with the power like you had Brent but I guess this funeral home decided that heat was optional. So far my Dad has handled it well even when people reminded him he is the last of the family.

Funeral is tomorrow in a little country church and then we will head back home to have the delayed Christmas with the In-Laws.

Talk to you later.

Oh man that really bites about the heat. Glad to hear your dad is being strong, it's a great thing you are there to support him. Thinking about you guys tonight on my walk to the bus stop. The heat is off outside here too. Keep him strong tomorrow and travel safe going home.

Prayers for the guys here in need. Just getting caught up and came across some situations warranting said prayers.

Took some time to update the 'ol trip report. Almost done. i think I have 2 days left on the trip and then I'll have it all wrapped up. Finishing it now is making me jones for Disney in a bad way! My brother and his fam are heading down today, so hopefully they let me live vicariously trough them!

Here's hoping for a good weekend. Heading out to the in-laws tomorrow morning to spend Christmas with them. Hoping to "lose myself" a bit this weekend, still feeling pretty low. Very simple itinerary: Saturday hang with DW's dad, movies etc, drop the girls off with their grandmother, and DW and I will go catch The Hobbit. Sunday is all with her mom and step dad, we won't likely leave the house, Monday just hang wth one or both before heading home, work Tuesday, then off till January 6.:cool1: Plan to spend my time taking the girls places, including going to see Frozen. Will check in now and then....have a safe weekend Dad's!

DW and the kids just showed up at the office to take me to see Frozen at the drive-in. How appropriate. I will be frozen watching Frozen.

:coffee: we have a drive in here, but it is closed during the winter. Hope you survived.

Tell me about it. I try to talk DW into a Christmas holiday trip for the following year around this time so that I can avoid the traveling to the inlaws. It never works though.

Day 9

Well, my staycation is half way over. It just seems to fly by so fast. Youngest dd has soccer today and there should be some good games today. UL vs UK at Rupp Arena followed by UL in the Russell Athletic Bowl. We all can watch Teddy Bridgewater before the Texans draft him next year.

Morning men. Safe travels to those heading places.

Got up early today to clean up around the house and login to do some work stuff. Yet here I am on the DIS and my other browser windows have MyDisney Experience open and the DVC site.

Happy Saturday guys. Going to finally take the girls to see frozen today.

Oh and I like the dis board app on my new iPad that Santa dropped off for me. It makes it very easy to read the boards quickly. Hopefully this will allow me to pop in here more regularly.

Prayers for this those in need. Praise for those deserving. Bacon for all.

At least it's not the Raiders!

Morning Guys.

Made it home last night, seems pretty quiet in here. People must be spending time with their families or something.

Have a good one.

Day 10

A good win for UK Basketball and UL Football yesterday. I get to enjoy lots of football today and Mass tonight, and I still have another week off work. Hoping for some non-wet weather next week to enjoy it. And, there will be a sit down with DW to review the family budget and make adjustments - that's sure to be fun. :crazy2:

Wait…..what am I missing? I thought we were finally giving those in the military and Federal employment a raise? Sorry to hear your job is in jeopardy, especially around the holidays. I hope it works out. Prayers that any cut backs don't effect you.

I can not speak for any of the other branches of the military but the Air Force is cutting alot of people. While I have not been notified that I could lose my job it is a potential. It has enough of a potential that the wife and I are airing on the side of caution and pretty much putting life on hold and holding our breath until I know more. We should know sometime around Jan 6 if we really have to worry or we can relax a little. I guess the bright side is that I will be employed until at a minimum August. I just hope that I can finish out the 12 years I have left so I can retire.

Survived. That is the key.

I know how you feel with Surviving visits with families.

Just checking in. Missed a few days due to the holidays, not going back to catch up. Prayers to those in need, congrats where in order and I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.

Christmas went pretty well here, although quieter than usual. Had an Italian themed dinner that was very good and just hung out for the day with family. FIL is feeling much better. Has to schedule operation to have his gall bladder removed after the new year.

DD played a holiday hoops tourney the last few days. Went 3-0 to make the playoffs, won semi 39-5 and finished off the win this morning taking the finals 26-5. DD had 8 points, 7 rebounds and a couple of pretty good looking assists in the win. Here is the team wearing the championship shirts.

Have a great Sunday to all the dads, even you CJ! The Dolphins need a win today to have a shot at the playoffs…..good luck nemie.

Glad you got hone safe. Wintertime travel in Canada is unpredictable.

I think it's a cross between spending time with families, prepping for DDCC 2 and football. Yesterday just sat around FIL's place watching movies. Today more if the same. (Except the movies part) at MIL's. Tonight go see The Hobbit.

Hey Dads. Just got back from the cruise. Hope Santa was good to all. Prayers to those who need it. Birthday and anniversary greetings for all. And, it's Friday, looks like you could use a cool one

Enjoyed the pictures on FB, looked like a great time.

Your work sounds much more fun than my work stuff.

I guess trips to Miami and the Caribbean do not count?

UK finally looked good and got a nice win against UL. Loved the UL football game, Bridgewater just toyed with the Canes. What do UL fans love most, eating Gator tail or Ibis wings. If Florida doesn't win next year, I expect them to back up the Armored Car in Charlie's driveway.

I hear you. The kid that dared ask my daughter out is in the Air Force Reserve. They keep jerking him around as far as training assignments. Good luck man.

Glad Christmas went well. Same here. Good looking pic and congratulations to you daughter. Guess she got her brains, looks and athletic ability from her mom. Have a great Sunday to you nemie, Dolphins will win today only to lose badly in the first round of the playoffs. Probably the same fate as the Pats.

Been a good day of football so far. Are you ready for the playoffs?

I hear ya. I'm at a state university, and we are funded with state and federal contracts. Our state FY is June. So, I get to worry twice a year. I have 9 more years before I am eligible for retirement; however, i get a free tuition benefit I can give to my children. So, I'm probably working another 12 as well.

Congrats to dd and winning team.

Randle is as good as advertised and will go top 5 in the draft next year. He will need to improve his conditioning though. The Harrison twins played exceptionally well in the 2nd half and UK should have a good run. UL had no inside game at all. One of their inside players has a injury and hopefully that will improve for the playoffs. Or, maybe Ware will provide that third guard and scoring. Charlie just signed a contract extension, so that will have to be a big signing bonus. Bridgewater and the Texans should do well next year.

Great day for football. Good win for the Colts, even the Jags are not greT. It was good to see consistent play these last four weeks.

Bears/Packers game has been pretty entertaining.

Best wishes with the budget discussion. I discuss, SWMBO ignores...repeat. She is finally getting nervous though because I told her what my aunt's funeral cost and her parents have nothing set aside for such situations. We asked them when they were down over Christmas since they named me executor. Thankfully they are relatively healthy but things happen and I don't want to get hit with those bills out of the blue.

Best wishes. Retirement is an illusion for me.

What he said. :thumbsup2

Back in Appalachia and we are officially closed for the next three days so I should be able to stay up to date while working. No rest for the wicked or weary.

Normally, it would be an automatically lose game for the Cowboys tonight. But, since Romo is out, there is a chance. :lmao:

Great day for football. Good win for the Colts, even the Jags are not greT. It was good to see consistent play these last four weeks.

Good win for Colts, even if it is Jags. They should beat KC.

.

Discussion over. Mostly a continuation from last year since there are not of lot of changes. However, there won't be any new toys for me, and I'm worried the vacation budget isn't going to cover it.
