Good Morning Gentlemen!

and welcome to the new DisDad - even if he is a Michigan fan, I'll try not to hold that against him. ;)

Okay, guys, Dave here. A little about me.

122. Real men don't use Mickey pancake forms. I make mine freehand! Well, okay, the first few come out a tad mutated, but eventually they resemble The Mouse. It's fun eating my mistakes!

2. DW refers to me as an adolescent at times. Does that qualify me as "just a big kid?"

I'm still trying to get up to speed on Disney culture, but as far as the in's and out's of trip planning, DW and DD know that I'm their go-to guy.

I'm a bit of a space buff, so if there's a launch at the Cape, I'll be happy to pass along any information to you...gotta do something on those non-park days!

Fan of the Detroit Red Wings and Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, St. Gerard Falcons, and Lansing Catholic HS Cougars. Husband of Judy, father of Megan (DD 6, almost 7, my only child and Disney Princess...guess that makes me the king!).

Not fishing for accolades (or sympathy), but I'm also the 53-year-old father of the aforementioned Disney Princess. Interesting, being old enough to be the father of some of the parents of my daughter's classmates.

So, esteemed DISdads, am I worthy of your company?

Welcome Dave. The initiation process doesn't hurt...much. :)

Hey Dave. Welcome to the club. :wave2:

Welcome! Just so you know the DIS is prett strict about graphic images, so you'll have to change that gawd awful avatar to something more suitable. Might a suggest the letters ND or IU? :lmao:
Are you trying to get him banned??? Talk about something vulgar... :rolleyes1

\oing to brag a bit about DS#1. For context, there's a dad I know through scouting who's son was diagnosed with a fairly aggressive neck and chest sarcoma about a year ago. I've gotten to know them well in the hospital and have done 4 merit badges with him during his hospitalization. All my kids play Minecraft with him on-line (for a long time he couldn't speak because of the location of the tumor, so texting online was much easier). Anyway, yesterday was a very bad day for this boy. He was starting a very hard round of chemo that would make him pretty sick. So he was getting admitted yesterday and was pretty upset. He asked if DS#1 would mind coming to visit him. So even though it was a school night, DS#1 agreed to go. He couldn't have been more awesome. Completely unphased about the chemo starting, the IVs, monitors, etc. They just hung out and talked and played Minecraft for a couple of hours while the mom and I went for coffee and ice cream. Very proud of the young man he's becoming. And on the way home got to teach him about Catholicy things like corporeal works of mercy too (which apparently they don't teach anymore in CCD? Who knew!). Definitely count your blessings today, guys!
I think you're raising him well. :thumbsup2

I'm an Eagles fan. That's why I didn't mind the Redskins playing lousy.
I figured it was somthing like that. That or a cowboys fan.... If that were the case tho you would have wanted the Redskins to win that game.

:welcome::dancer: welcome to the club... it did not take long for me to not be the newest member. You mentioned the Cape you live in that area?

Since we are going to get AP's for our April trip, and my wife says airlines run some cheap deals once and a while to fill flights, :scratchin suddenly I'm thinking of a quick trip in June for Star Wars weekend:confused3
Got to get my monies worth out of the pass so everything is on the table:stir:

I know exactly how you feel..... Thats why my wife and I are planning to do the Wine and Dine... if we dont go again she will hound me for not just getting the Military tickets and saving some money. My thought is it gives me ammunition to get her back into the World. If it werent for money we would live there..... that and the whole prospect of going AWOL and getting thrown in jail.

See if I tell you when the next rocket launch is at the Cape.

Or where it's aimed... :wave2:

"Oh, Beverly...it's peanut butter-ing coming right at my Irish Hoosier..."

‘Morning all…
Missed a few days again; real life can be most inconvenient.

I see I also missed a couple of birthdays…
:bday: a belated HBD to Tim

And also to my nemeses. Congrats sir, you're officially older.
And I spared no expense in acquiring you a fitting cake for the celebration.
Enjoy!

Hip surgery I think. Or brain replacement with penguin experiment.

:lmao:

He's making the US political system look good. That's scary.
:scared: scary indeed…

Worthy? You have to lower your standards just to apply.

We’re glad to have you on board.

Welcome to the nut, I mean clubhouse!

You had it right the first time.

Great young man you got there.

:welcome::dancer: welcome to the club... it did not take long for me to not be the newest member. You mentioned the Cape you live in that area?

No, up in Michigan. Been into all things space related (and aviation as well) since I was a little kid. If I lived near the Cape, DW and DD would never see me again. Or at least on launch days.

"Sorry, Megan. Daddy's watching a Falcon Delta 9 Heavy IV Atlas-something...he won't be home for dinner. Again."

"Can I have his dessert?"

Thanks... It ain't Old Style, so it works for me. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Even I’m not that cruel.

Sounds like both father and daughter have their priorities in order. :thumbsup2

My grandfather worked on the Cape in 60’s and 70’s so I’ve been all over Merritt Island and in and out of a number of the facilities. I understand the obsession.

Morning Guys! Whats going on in the world?
Oh and 40 days till my next trip to the world. :cool1:

Real life stinks. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go hang out with my imaginary friend.

Mine both have Kindle Fires. 11 year old has cell phone. Neither were my idea.

This will be the first technology revolution in the house where everyone will have a digital device. Both have laptops, but for school and no games on them (per restrictions). DS13 has an iPhone, mostly because he is off on his own a lot and needs a way to keep in touch. DD11 still no phone (we are not suffering from a lack of requests or the "all my friends have one") and I have no plans to get her one until it is needed. How do you like the Kindle? DS was very specific as he thought it would be the best option for downloading and reading books.

Welcome to the club Dave! Feel free to pull up a chair and get involved in the discussions.

I just picked up 2 of these for my kids...

Nice starter android tablet, quad core, 16 gig, HD, with 5 megapixel camera, GPS, and only $129

:thumbsup2 Nice grab! Can they use them in school? Both kids are now able to bring them to school and use them to take notes, record assignments and even use as textbooks for certain things. DD class all got school owned iPads or could bring from home. She'll start bringing hers after the holidays. I had her name engraved on the case to avoid any issues of who it belongs to.

The iPad was $299 and the Fire $229 originally. Got a total of $38 off the iPad (pretty good for a new Apple product) and had rewards from staples so used $72 in rewards toward the Kindle.

Pretty sure I would be doing the same thing. If we ever got AP's it would cost me a fortune in air fare since I'm sure I would use just about any excuse to get there. Good luck!

Good morning men :coffee:

My FF team returned to reality this week, 0-3 :scared:

3-0 this week and making a run for the top down the stretch! :cool1::cool1:

Welcome to the club! But be warned...it has been well established in my household that my daughter is the princess and my wife is the queen. Naturally that makes me....father of the princess and husband of the queen. Nothing more. Get used to it. :headache:

Now that there is funny! :lmao::lmao: True:mad:, but funny.:lmao:

It sounds like he has learned that "Whatsoever you do for the least of these, you do for me." If not in CCD, then maybe at home? :thumbsup2

Hoping my DD grows up the same way. DW and I are trying to instill those values in her. So far, so good. To the extent she is able, she thinks of others in need without blinking (or prompting). Not bad for a first grader.

I guess we are the richest guys in the world. Your son sounds like a fine young man.

Ok! :thumbsup2 Recovery from what? Everything ok?

Total hip replacement Thursday.

Yeah my parents live in that area ill be there in less than a week then ill be in the world on 1 Dec.

It would appear that your daughter has her mind right on what she finds inportant.

Sounds fun. Is your imaginary friend an Eagles fan too? Or, does he have some common sense? :crazy2:

I like DW's kindle for reading books. Otherwise, iPad is way better.

MY oldest can only use on certain occasions or classes. But, KY is the worst in education, so no hope there.

That's way worse.

Bravo to DS. And, the CCD here still teaches Corporal Works of Mercy, but they are all broken down by age group as to what they learn in what year.
