Happy 4th from the land of tyrants. Stood in front of Parliament this morning and yelled, "No taxation without representation! Down with King George!"

I took this as they were dragging me away

We will be celebrating our county's Independence in an all American way. High Tea in a couple of hours and then the theater tonight. We will be seeing that American classic, Spamalot. Best we can do on this side of the Pond.

Happy and safe 4th guys.

Don't let the man keep you down, CJ!! Down with the crown :lmao:

Happy 4th of July Gentlemen

My dad and Grandpa are doing much better. Thanks for the prayers. I took the kids to the zoo as a trial run for WDW and to take the new DSLR for a spin. Things that I learned from the trip:
1) Stroller is a must. 2.5 miles of zoo trails pushed their limits.
2) The combo water bottle, snack trap with strap is a god send.
3) A 30 minute show is pushing DD's patience.
4) Put spare shoes in the back pack.
5) Kids don't like to bleed, have band aids in the back pack.
6) DW does not like when you take rapid fire photos like you are part of the paparazzi. :rolleyes1
7) Know where the pottys are. Take a potty break before going down a long stretch of path without a restroom.

What Did I Learn Today:confused3

Well I found out you can fight City Hall and win, and also parents advice is not as stupid as it sounds at the time:confused3 Let me explain, Last week I got a code violation for a law that came about in 2000, The time I put it up was 1993, with a very rare thing that most people can not produce known as a receipt from 20 yrs prior, which me Dad made me save, actually cleared me of any violation:cool1:,I did call my Dad and Thank him for making me save it, it made his day:goodvibes, Who knows maybe some kind of advice I give my son may pay off many years later:scratchin
Well played.

Hope you all have a safe and happy 4th of July.

Nice photo CJ. Have you stopped by Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross Station yet?

Happy Independence Day!
(and a Happy Thursday for those of ya’ that dwell to the north)

Thanks! I have been waiting a long time to finally stay at the Poly. I am SO looking forward to it!

We will be staying our first two nights at the Royal Pacific Resort at The Dark Side® before we go to the Poly for 7 nights. I will do a direct comparison review for my blog (and trip report here on The DIS) when we get back.

Stayin’ at the Poly Eh? Call me jealous.
We’d love to do that some time. Right no the best we can pull off is breakfast at the Kona at least once per trip and a walk around the grounds. Not nearly as good, but it’ll do… for now…

Heading out for the long weekend. Everyone have safe and happy 4th!

Enjoy the trip and you be careful out there.

So... ummm... have I missed anything? popcorn::

Good to hear from you sir.
If you’ve got to have a reason to be absent from these here boards…
Then this is just about the best one…

A belated Happy Birthday to Gabriella
Lovely little girl there Tim.

Oh, and a nice tribute to your Pop.

It’s amazing just how much smarter my dad got form the time I was 15 to the time I hit 30.
It was almost as if he had been transformed.

Oh, it was funny yesterday. She complained the vacuum was too heavy. I waited her out though. My dds get paid for the chores they do, but no allowance.

Good work sir.
And she’ll agree with you about the time she hits 30.
Oh wait… I mean 25 (women never age beyond that point).

You let me down, nemesis.

I do believe that’s his job here…
:lmao:

"Up the rebels!"

"Down the British!"

Well… if that’s the best you can do then I guess it’s acceptable
:rotfl2:

Happy Fourth of July guys, hope it's a good one.

Apparently MIL's plans for my daughters this evening is to go to a cousin's place in Sarnia, they live right on the St.Clair River across from Port Hurin and watch the fireworks. :thumbsup2

Sound like a fine plane to me.
They should have a fine time.

Don't worry folks, I'm holding down the fort at work, while you are all off BBQ'ing and suds'ing...

And we appreciate all the work you’re doing mightily.
(It’s tough ruining the universe :rotfl: )

Happy and safe 4th guys.

Enjoy CJ and make sure no one tries to treat you like Lincoln at the show.

Happy Independence Day Gents! Gonna be a wash out here in Middle TN this weekend. DW & DD headed out to visit friends that moved 3 hours away a couple of weeks ago this weekend so just me & DS for a guys weekend. Lots of red meat and bacon but not gonna get in the golf we wanted due to Mother Nature.

Happy 4th and be safe guys

Come on, CJ... Surely they sell fireworks on that side of the pond too. Blow something up for 'merica.

City cancelled Fireworks here as well. DW made fried green tomatoes already, which taste really good with beer. I'm going to grill hotdogs later, if it ever stops raining.

And Andy just ended up on the NSA data storage servers - again.

Lots of wisdom there.

Good work sir.

If they are like their mother, then I can never be right. Quick, add some more posts so she doesn't read this one.

Happy 4th Men! From Bar Harbor Maine. Talked with the whales today. Weather was good for it. But about a third of the passengers got seasick.
Sitting in the city park listening to good music and waiting for the fireworks
That's it from Bar Harbor, have a Great weekend.

Tea was a hit with the Pirate Princess. Very "Posh."

Spamalot was hilarious. We saw it on Broadway a few years ago and this show blew it away. Some good ad-libbing and topical humor of current UK events. The scene where the Knights that say Nee who were no longer saying Nee ended up after the gibberish with the head knight singing the Star Spangled Banner. It took the actor playing Arthur by surprise and it was obvious that he did not know our anthem. Who really does. So he started off and egged the audience to join in. Lots of former Colonists there so we had a sing along. Then they wished us a happy 4th. A good day to end our little adventure.

Heading home in the am tomorrow. Great trip but we are ready to get back to the USA. I will try to periodically post some pics from the trip but only after I spend a few days recovering.

Saying good night with a picture of her last LEGAL beer for a few years. Bottingers for anyone that is curious.

Evening guys...oddly enough, there are fireworks going on outside...

Awesome!! What a great trip so far...

Boddington's is a decent pub beer. :thumbsup2

G'mornin Dads! Had a great 4th with family yesterday. The rest of the weekend we will be doing a lot of driving visiting prospective colleges.

By the way, fireworks are always nice wherever you see them but they just seem to be missing something without a Disney soundtrack...

Norm said to post pad.

PAD!

So what did that do?

Happy 5th Of July!

i do not think it means what you think it means. :upsidedow

Well, spent a late night out watching fireworks, and now I'm back at work to finish the work week.

Why did the 4th have to be on a Thursday? :headache: At least the weekend is almost here.

Morning everyone Weekend (and start of my vacation) is almost here! :hyper:

Happy 5th Of July!

Yep! Happy Birthday to my Dad! Turns 74 today.

By the way, fireworks are always nice wherever you see them but they just seem to be missing something without a Disney soundtrack...

It's what made me laugh about a Canada Day fireworks show a few years ago in Sarnia. They put it to Disney Music. :rotfl2:

That's why I brought my own! Racine's fireworks were just over 20 minutes long - good enough to get through the entire Wishes soundtrack, all of Illuminations, and a little bit of the Fountain of Nations soundtrack.
The best part was a huge shell exploded just as Jiminy Cricket says "..it all started with a wish!" :thumbsup2Unfortunately, that was the only shell that matched up with the music all night. :confused3

Sounds like a good show. Looks like Crash can throw back those beers fairly easy. Hmmm. How much partying at college?

I have to kill 10 more minutes until a phone conference. What idiot schedules a conference on the 5th at 8:30 AM?

Happy Birthday to your dad.

Thanks...he gets to celebrate by going to get chemo done and likely a visit from my sister this afternoon. He's living the high life! :rotfl2: I'll likely go see him tomorrow.
