Ok, I'm starting to get myself depressed. We're doing a beach vacation this summer instead of Disney World. We'd gone each of the last 2 years, and now that DS is 3, but still too short for most height requirement rides, we just felt like the cost to take him was a rip off, quite frankly. That said, as I've been working on getting things in order for our trip to Panama City Beach next month, I can't help but look at the numbers and think "we could do a Disney trip for about the same cost."

I can definitely tell you which destination I would pick if all else was equal. :rolleyes1

I had to tell DW that if we go to FL for vacation a stop in Disney is a requirement.

As promised!

Nice digs! Now to get to the rest of the house.

We have a few things, including crystal figures, but no full rooms yet. I guess I'll have to wait until I get thrown out of the house and then decorate the dog house.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

here comes another update.

she found out last night she got written up on june 3rd at work.

she was written up by a manager for only being her second day alone and when the shift ended, her cart was cleaned, inventoried and ready for the stockers. she sent me a picture of the form but I don't think I should post it. not sure if its ok.

we learned this during one of the keys to the kingdom tours we took. cms work under four keys, safety, courtesy, show and efficiency.
they really pound these key words into cms heads. the manager wrote her up for courtesy and efficiency.

she just called tammy, they are expecting bad storms. in bad storms or lighting with in 5 miles of the mk, she has to close up and head to the utilidors. if its a real bad storm, they hold them in the utilidors and wont let them leave till its safe. she always text when shes leaving work and when she gets home. she just called to warn us she may not be texting tonight on time pending the storm. her phone don't work to well in the utilidor and just wanted us to know she will be safe. I guess the park guest are on there own in the storm.:lmao:

Congratulations to her! A big step on day 2. Just wait until all the Disdads show up and start putting in the compliment cards. Glad it is going well. Keep the updates coming.

Now we know how Ron affords all these auctions - sideline career as Chigurh from No Country for Old Men.

I just hope Ron has a better haircut. :scared1:

On the plus side, you'll be able to get a lot more sand in your clothes. And experience the refreshing taste of salt water on a hot summer day.

more CRUD.

We are slowly digging our way out of the hole from the weather but still don't have our bean research plot planted though the plastic is down now. Strawberries are done until I start with next years project in less than a month :scared1: Big storms rolling through again. SWMBO and kids are already having struggles on their own. I guess that is their plan to help me live a long time...they can't function without me. :headache:

The wine bottle has gone down quickly this summer.

Hope the weather improves and you can get the work completed.

It's always good to know you are needed.:thumbsup2

There's more wine at the store since the Canadians avoided the strike.:woohoo::woohoo:

We have a fat drunk guy league. But it is softball.

We have one of those too! Starts in about 2 weeks.

Today I felt pretty stupid, I was woking in the yard and came into change clothes before I went to the store, well stupid me I get back outside and realize I locked the keys in the house:scared1:, No big deal, I have a spare hidden, I go to get it and it's gone:scared1:, Now I start to panic I have to pick up my son from school in a little over a hour, I call my wife and ask her about the spare key, she told me she had to use it the other day after my son locked the door on the way out when playing in the yard and it's on the dresser:scared1:

OK now I have to break in, having a father who was a cop and hearing how the bad guys get in needless to say it's locked up like Fort Knox:rolleyes1

My only saving grace was that I didn't lock the garage yet (with all my auto body air tools:worship:) I have 150ft of air hose and made it to the front door with plenty to spare, Without going into detail on how I did it, I was in it took about 5mins, got my keys, no damage to the door, the lock still worked but I did pick up a new one and replaced it:thumbsup2

I will say the newer locks are a lot stronger then I expected

I've been there before. Luckily we have several relatives within 15 minutes to bail us out.

The wife regularly locks herself out. Probably twice a month. Pretty soon we'll just start hiding extra keys all over the yard.:rolleyes1

We are doing the 'beach' on the way down to Disney. A two night stop in GA to do the beach on one day, then a full week in the world.

So we combine both trips into one. But my youngest is 4, and she is tall for a 4 year old so she can ride most rides that are good for her.

And a quick question, those who have traveled with kids, and taken them back to a hotel/house whatever, do yo go back to the park at night and leave them with a sitter? In our case my mother.

I am thinking with the park hopper, my wife and I might go to the parks later after we drop the kids off back at the house. I know the parking fee is good for all parks for the day, so that should not be an issue.

Any experience from anyone?

Randall- great bathroom! If mine looked like that, I'd never get off the toilet.

Next time I'm driving through Baltimore, I know where to stop. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go see a man about a horse.

I don't know about leaving the kids with someone else, but I've gone back to the parks for evening EMH by myself after DW and DS were in bed. :rotfl2::rotfl:

Absolutely! If your mom is willing to stay back at the room with the kids, take advantage of it and get a little bit of adult only time in the parks. :thumbsup2

This is exactly what we do and is the main benefit of having parents in Florida. Not every night of the trip, but at least twice. Also, if we don't spend all day at a certain park (Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom) we'll park hop back in to one of the others after a siesta to catch illuminations or Wishes.

Morning everyone... Tearing down skids again...took a guy getting arrested to give me back a job.

Morning Guys.

One more day this week and then it's the weekend. :cool1::cool1:

Traveling next week to the big city of Winnipeg. Should be fun!
Woohoo !! Mosquitos and Black Flies have fresh blood to feast on!

We are also planning a couple of beach days before we hit the world. Going to be staying somewhere in Cocoa Beach for a couple of nights before hitting WDW. The girls really want to do the beach thing. Also planned a wildlife-boat tour at the Thousand Islands.

Thanks guys! Yeah I don't know if I would use any of the services, but my mom lives with us, so the kids are all fine with staying with her it's like home. :)

I guess I just need to catch a nap and then go back out to the parks without the kids.

I might even get my sister and her husband to come along as well. Of course leaving my poor 70 year old mother with 5 kids all younger than 10 is not going to happen every night. :)

Sounds about like your upcoming trip. Only without the lava. :rolleyes1

I think we have more Disney in our trip though. :rolleyes1

Also this. Guilt about going into the parks without the kids is purely false guilt. :thumbsup2

Written Up???
Dave, just say the word and I'll head down there and break some legs...
Oh, wait..... it's a good thing?

One other item. So my kids have no idea we are going to Disney.

They think our big vacation is GA this year. They are a little bummed about going someplace where they have no real investment in it.

So we are going to tell them right before we get on the road from Savannah to Orlando. I am thinking about how to tell them.

So we bought some stuff for the trip for them, some nightgowns and autograph books, and princess dresses for the BBB.

I was thinking of wrapping this all up in boxes and giving one to each of them and letting them open it and then letting them guess where we are going..

Anyone have better ideas to tell my girls?

I'm glad you got in. All I know is that if the lock still worked, you and I don't use our air tools the same way.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I'm pretty sure I would be replacing the door and everything around it if it were me. Good job!:thumbsup2

Winnipeg? I thought they closed Winnipeg years ago.

It's as though we're taking the same trip. Me, DW, 3 kids almost the same age as yours. Grandma there to babysit. And I was planning on surprising them with it. In fact, my oldest has requested that she be surprised next time we go. I think we'll just sell the trip as a visit to grandma (which is true), but instead of going all the way to Port Charlotte, we'll just stop in Orlando and let them figure it out. We'll be driving at night, so they may be asleep. If they don't realize it until they wake up the next day, that would be great. Unfortunately, it will be off-site. The "reveal" would be much cooler if we were in a Disney resort.
