Those are the days that my dad always said you could hear the corn growing.Don't have any pictures at the moment, but looking pretty good. We've been getting plenty of rain and had ideal temperatures and it has absolutely rocketed up over the past week. Between yesterday morning before church and when we got home for lunch, I swear the field around our house had to have grown 6". Right now we look good, but the forecast is a little hotter and dry looking ahead to next week. Unfortunately, that's about when we'll be in the pollination stage and that's the worst possible time to see hot and dry weather.
Speaking of farming, my brother sent me a video yesterday of a professional forage harvester taking off a field of Peas & Oats that he sold to a huge corporate farm. They came in with a pair of John Deeres with 30 or 40 foot wide rakes, a couple of 500+ Horsepower John Deere choppers and 5 semi trailers. Had the entire field up in about 45 minutes - a job that would have taken him 2 days with the equipment he has. I'm sure you're used to that scale of equipment, but to a little family dairy farm, that's some impressive machinery.
