Morning Dads. No energy today because of large doses of benadryl. Took several bee stings to the head yesterday working my bees when my veil slipped. I can now say that a sting to the lip is more painful than an ear or eyebrow.

An office day today with the storms rolling through. It would have been even if the day had been nice. Meetings next week and need to get the Powerpoints updated. If I don't get a chance to go back and catch up :rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl: I'll just say congrats to those deserving, prayers for those in need and welcome new guys.

What is more fun is getting them in your mouth. Accidentally drank a couple last summer. They got in my Pepsi can and i wasn't aware of it until i felt them in my mouth. on the way to spitting them out one stung me on the inside of the lip. Good thing i am not allergic.
I am guessing you are not either. Just the amount of stings combined is the reason for the benadryl correct? How many did you end up with?

Glad you aren't allergic.

I keep liquid benadryl around because allergic reactions can develop anytime to bee stings. There are typically around 50 deaths per year to all insect stings in the US and that includes more than just honeybees but it never hurts to be prepared.

When I take as many as I did yesterday (6 on the head plus a couple on the wrist) I follow it up with a couple of caplets. I may have to requeen this hive if they are going to be that aggressive. The sad thing is my son has enjoyed working the bees with me since he was in kindergarten, but I think yesterday may have changed his mind.

she will be arriving at wdw on may 20th. they get there housing and job assignment. she, and everyone who works for the mouse has to go through traditions training than she will be working for the mouse till jan 3 2014.
her role is quick service food. she can work in a park, a cart in a park or a resort.
Great news and congratulations :woohoo: Will keep an eye out for her when we are there in June. Only going to hit MK for one day before cruise so keep us posted where her assignment is.

That must have stung (sorry couldn't resist).

Hope you are feeling better. Taking the benadryl does give you a built-in excuse to nap today.

Thanks everyone!!! If you drop in the pub, some of her details are over there. Just ran out of time last night. Went to bed at midnight and up at four to go to work. Sorry Brian and Cj, may trip has been cancelled. We are hopefully if my work oks it today, going to be down in june, sept and december. We are spending christmas with her. A lot of work to do between now and may 18th. I will be there also may 18 through the 20 th to drop her off. I will keep you posted. Thanks again !

Well, congrats to Briana anyway... even if she is breaking up a DisDad meet.

Actually we arrive in the Orlando area on the 18th and have park days on the 19th and 20th. Give me a txt when you're there and we can see if things work out.

Darn kids always get in the way. Hearty congratulations to Briana. I can imagine you guys are pretty excited. Hopefully we can see her on a trip. Plus you are now a true empty nester.

I am sure Brian and I will toast one in your honor sometime during the trip.

Are you saying we're only allowed to toast 1? :scared1:

Sounds like the bees may have had training from the Canadian penguins on how to infiltrate the suit.

I can only imagine the pain from a lip sting. Hopefully the Benedryl works and it heals quickly. I'm guessing I would not be so calm if it happened to me and the queen would have to be sacrificed as a lesson to the rest of them who the boss is.:lmao::lmao:

Interesting that you mention the queen needing to be replaced. Does that infer that the existing queen may be Afircanized or is it just that some are more aggressive than others? Bee keeping was always an interesting hobby, but I have enough hobbies that risk severe pain already.

Yikes. Hope this doesn't scare him off.

I got the biggies for our trip.
BBB at 8:30 and CRT at 10. Its going to cut down on touring for day 1 but I figure its a great way to kick off Disney and we are planning MNSSHP and another day at MK so its not a big deal. Plus crowds should be manageable in mid October.
