Good morning gentlemen.

We are getting hit by another snownomi today. Rained last night. Then in the overnight we got a couple inches. They are predicting another 6-10 before it is over. It is April isn't it?

You were saying something about the north?

It was basicly the next move in contract negotiations. We are officially working without a contract now. The 95% in favour vote is hopefully to show the government we won't be pushovers. They want to inact a wage-freeze (not that I care about that, I make decent money I think), and reduce benefits, sick and vacation time, reduce wages on new hires etc, and naturally reduce budgets.

Another ugly battle ahead. Over the years we are busier then ever, but work with reduced staff (roughly 2 less people per shift). They want to reduce, reduce reduce, BUT notice they have no problem raising prices. :sad2:...

They are doing that here too. They have ended the state retirement system for newly hired employees, going to a matching 401K system. However, they failed to determine how they fund the shortfall in the system for current retires and current employees. And, now that the ponzi new employees route, it is just a matter of time. They did not go after the Teachers Retirement system, which I am in, because all the teachers would immediately strike and parents would lose their child care. But, the university I work for is contemplating ending or reducing the employee tuition benefit program, which means just in another pay cut for me. I don't have a problem with people making more money, but laying off staff and cutting benefits to give raises to the fat cats is just not the way to do it.

Morning guys.

Norm gave me a bottle of Kentucky's finest bourbon. I will be cracking that bad boy open when we bring the children we are adopting home :thumbsup2

My pain the butt customer sent an email demanding that our president, VP, Sales Mgr and myself be at her office this morning. I had to reply thanking her for the invite but that all of us are either too busy or out of town on business. I took great joy in sending that :thumbsup2

Have a good one men!

Sorry to hear that you are having to deal with it. You might need that bottle of bourbon for this. It does make things better.

Why not just show up at her office by yourself with the bottle of bourbon? Two birds with one stone? :confused3

;)

Why waste good bourbon on an evil woman?

The one thing I can tell by this pic, is that I have never been near these bottles::yes:::rolleyes1

They stay on top of the cabinets for decoration. If I ever get desperate enough ....

Happy Birthday Kris:cake: Let's go to Norms he has shots for you:thumbsup2

You all are welcome, although it may be cheaper to just pick up a bottle from the liquor store as opposed to paying for the gas to get to KY.

Another staycation day. Once again, I am the last one in the neighborhood to cut the grass. Today, it is raining, so I may need to use the machete after it dries out. I posted on FB that oldest dd and her 5th grade class met with our representative in Washington DC. She asked him to lower taxes. The teachers were not happy. It is surprising that KY is such a red state; however, all the people that voted red don't seem to want to follow any of those philosophies when it is related to themselves.

Welcome to America! Shots for everybody! Ummm.....:scared1:

I think I remember reading that in one of those parenting books.

I'm thinking David might not want to share his plan to liquor up the kids until after the adoption is final. But, it is a nice way to get them to behave.

Friday for me.:cool1: Tomorrow we head out to Long Island for DS baseball weekend. Hopefully the boys can get some time together away from the diamond. From experience, the time just being kids helps more than the playing to bring them together sometimes. Taking the New London Ferry out of CT. Figured it would break up the 4-5 hours of driving.

Do a Google Image search of Worthington, MN. The surface temp was below freezing as a thunderstorm rolled through two nights ago.

Cutting the grass is over rated. Ours hasn't gotten past the winter freeze yet, but I figure I'll be cutting it in another week or so when the sun actually comes out for a couple days in a row.

Yeah!:cool1: for DD. You'll be homeschooling in no time.:lmao:

My commemorative bottles. I'll have to get the new UL basketball champion bottle.

The assembly line of the nectar of the gods. When I visited the distillery I did the buy the bottle and dip it yourself in the wax thing. It is resting comfortably on a bookshelf.

Good B-Day dinner with DW. The best long islands in town, free for B-Day and I think that they put a little extra in it 4 me. Only my mother and you guys other than the girls wished me a happy B-Day today. Nothing from the rest of the family, par for the course. Thank you for your friendship.

Belated Birthday Kris. Sounded like a good celebration yesterday.

Is her name Deborah?

Cruella maybe?

Is her name Deborah?

Is it Beverly?

Welcome to America! Shots for everybody! Ummm.....:scared1:

I've found that's less of a red state problem and more of a general human problem.

Just curious how your boss et. all feel about this woman. Are they behind you for support or behind you to push you intio the fire?

You silly Canadians and your extra "u" :rotfl2:

We bought them in bulk....gotta use 'em up.

Yeah, you can be damned sure the higher ups (who are not in the union) will get their raises etc. Ontario annually publishes a list of top money makers in government, and the top guys make the list. The public sees this and then takes it out in the workers that we "make too much money". People go after the "face" of the LCBO, not the root of the problem.

I said before, I'm happy with my rate of pay, I'd take the wage freeze (I am in the minority here) as long as I lose nothing else, and get an extra week's vacation. The LCBO is filling up with more and more modified workers because of the wear and tear on our bodies from the constant physical labour. I work evening shifts and weekends and we are extra busy at holiday periods. I'd like a little extra time to be with my family since those times cut into my family time.

I don't think much grass survived, just the weeds. If I won the lotto, I would move to Golden Oaks and home school them. There would be lots of field trips.

Not sure about other location, but Makers will bring the dipping to your local liquor stores for special events. Last year, they offered a dip your own Christmas bottle, with a vat of red wax and a vat of green wax. You had to buy the bottle, dress in protective apron and goggles, and sign the waiver. They did a short training program before, I watched a few buy and dip their own bottles. I was good on Makers at the time so didn't buy one. Maybe next time.

I could deal with the no pay increase because of the extra benefits. I took a lower paying job because of the extra benefits of retirement and vacation time. Now, they want to take away the benefits, but they won't increase the pay. It is the same here. It is not the state employee that retired making 20k to 40k a year that is breaking the budget.

Wouldn't vodka be more appropos here? :confused3:rotfl2:

Gotta get them hooked on American alcohol early. :lmao:

I know a couple of relatives that would love that. One would put it on the shelf and the other would have that sucker finished in 24 hours.

So far so good, none of the "s" word yet just some rain, and a bit of freezing rain or ice pellets so far. Hope everyone else is holding up well.

Held my tongue today, rather then start something on FB with a friend of DWs. She posted that she's got the kids with her, since school bus service is cancelled. THEY LIVE A BLOCK AWAY. Her kids go to the same school as mine, I can see the school from my window. Her kids already miss more then their fair share of class due to prolonged "illness", such a freaking irresponsible parent. I would prefer DW not associate as much with her.

Wonder who she'll go crying to if her kids are held back...:sad2:

Yeah, I'm a bit irritable today. :rotfl2:

I'd say let her have it.

My 3 year old dances to and knows the word to the song "Shots."

And no, he most certainly did not pick that one up from anything that I listen to.

My 6 year old niece used to walk around singing "Whistle" by Flo Rida. :lmao:

Another cold, rainy, grey day here in Southeast Wisconsin.
Good thing I've got live streaming HD coverage of the Masters from sunny August, Ga to keep my spirits up. :thumbsup2
