Brian - Prayers for your dad.

My dad got an ambulance ride a little over a year ago because of A-fib. They caught his because he has an implanted defibrilator due to some other heart issues he's had. He was standing talking to somebody and all of a sudden got put on the ground when his defibrilator shocked him because his heart rate went out of it's range. He said next time, he just wants to be kicked in the chest by a donkey.

Anyway, glad they caught it, and as long as it is montored and controlled, I'm sure everything will be fine.

Does winning a Superbowl make one an elite QB? I don't think so. Just like does not winning a Superbowl mean you can't be one? Again, I don't think so. Now, I think Flacco is a good QB, but for me, an elite QB discussion would be, factoring out time warp issues, who would you pick as the best QB?

Now, if you want to consider whether Flacco is elite among the active QBs? I think i would still put several in front of him. Admittedly, I am biased to my generation as well as TV broadcasting. We don't get many West Coast games.

On a non football story, I had been worried about the Spring Break trip. I thought that I must be a big failure dad to cancel the trip. We told dds yesterday that since we had the cruise and couple WDW days book ended, that for budgetary reasons, we had to cancel WDW over Spring Break. They both said, "ok" and started talking about other things.

Sometimes, you need to have your faith in people restored. Hopefully, that means we parent-ed them to understand. Or, they are secretly plotting revenge.

Thanks to those who expressed an interest in the BWV points. I didn't figure anyone would be able to travel on such short notice with those specific parameters. Still, you are a great bunch of guys and didn't mind offering them to you. Now, resume off topic posting .....

Ok, I can't even think about the Joe Flacco as an elite QB without laughing anymore. Do you guys ever read the NFL QB's on Facebook thing from Pro Football Mock?

Anyway, I do think Flacco is a great QB, but he's playing in an era that is full of great QB play. Some systems showcase a QB's talent better than others, but I don't know exactly how you classify one as an "elite" QB. I think of the current players, you've got to list Brady, Rodgers, Brees and P Manning as the top 4 (and I'm not even going to get into ranking them). The thing is I can think of about 4 (Flacco being one) that could legitimately fit into the last spot as the top 5 QB's currently in the league. I guess when you're getting that far down the list, you're including about 25% of all starting QB's in the league, so what exactly is elite???

I think their discussion was about active QBs and I agree there are still some ahead of him. I think he is good, kind of like Eli Manning, not elite but in the top 10 or so.

Yes he is, especially with the need to find a new face for the franchise. All things considered, I do not think he is an elite QB. He had a great playoff run this season and lets be honest: A. Boldin saved his a$$ several times on badly thrown balls. It is nice to win the SB heading into salary negotiations and the MVP doesn't hurt either.

Glad it is all working out. Missing a vacation certainly doesn't make one a failure, especially when you spend so much time and effort on your family. Sounds like some pretty happy and grounded kids there. I'd still watch your back though.

Great news Norm. I wish we could take you up on your offer but travelling at that time is difficult when you are married to a teacher.

I don't think Flacco is up there with the best QB's (Brady, Brees, Rodgers, P. Manning). I'd put him in the list of "good" QB's. He has too many off games to be considered great. But like Chris said, he's about to be paid like it. He won at the right time!

Love them! I had just finished Sam Bradford's comment about the power outage when the Executive VP popped his head in my office to say "good morning." I've never bit my tongue so hard to keep from laughing. I thought I was fired for sure.
