Good morning fellow dads , hope all is well and good, I feel a lot better since having the tooth pulled, ready for the weekend again :)

Happy birthday Donald

Morning guys,

Hope everyone that was affected by the snow is still warm and safe. Donald, hope you have a great birthday.

Thanks for letting me share my thoughts, life and aspirations with you guys. This time of year you really learn to be thankful for the friendships you have. I am truly thankful for each one of you :thumbsup2

Well said.

Glad that you are feeling better.

Actually, I don't think it was near as bad as they hyped it up to be. Yeah, there was snow and in places I saw drifts about 5 or 6 feet, but I've seen worse. I think they kind of panicked because we didn't have any to speak of last year and people just forgot how to deal with a big snowfall. I know our road was in far worse shape 2 years ago. Oh well, free day home from work. I'll gladly take it. Now if I go all the way in to work and they pull this crap again tomorrow, I won't be happy!
I hate the local weather forecasters. Everyone has to hype up the potential storms and make them seem like the storm of the century, which gets everyone into a tizzy at best, a panic at worst. And through all of it they constantly remind you to keep watching our station for important updates! Which keeps people glued to their TVs, which makes the people selling advertising on those stations very, very happy.
A recent example: last Thursday we were expecting snowfall.
All of the local TV stations and Weather.com started predicting 6-12" as early as Sunday night. Large red text all over their websites and broadcasts warning of impending doom.
Weather.gov (as site run by the NOAA with no advertising on it) predicted anywhere from 2-4".
What did we end up getting? About an inch here in Racine.

She should run with an eye patch and a club :thumbsup2. It may cause Barry to run a record time :lmao:
Luckily, she's running the full marathon. I'm only half crazy and doing 13.1 miles.

Well said, David! :thumbsup2

'Oh so this Team Barry and Team Tim have shirts like this one too?'

No they don't, they never received their shirts so you won't be able to pick them out in the crowd.
We'll have shirts. Probably. If not, I still have the ones that they misprinted. :confused3

More reason for me to run slow and stay an hour or so behind Crash... Nothing like getting a sliced achilles at mile 25... :rotfl:
I don't know if she's officially chosen a side yet, but I'm glad her dad is on mine!

Well they predicted 7 - 10 inches with 20 -30 mph winds... and that's pretty much what we had. Actually there was even more snow in some areas. The thing about it though is they named it "Blizzard 2012" and plastered it all over the newscasts. They apparently thought the Mayans were off by about a week because they were essentially predicting the end of civilization as we know it. Personally, I'll take a foot of blowing snow over an inch of ice any time.

And what's with forecasters naming winter storms now? Depending on who you were listening to, our last storm was either Draco or Brianna. :confused3

In Hendricks county we ended up with close to 12". Even the police department reported that. But old Chuck Lofton said Plainfield had about 6". He is an idiot

So...how does on exactly go about creating a nemesis?
And what on Earth inspired you to run? If I had a nemesis, I think my challenge would be to see who could consume more Dole Whips.
And birthday wishes to Donald.

That must have been what they had at his "approved weather spotter's" (or whatever they call them) house.

Heck, on my own property, depending where I wanted to check it, I could still see grass in places and it was up to my shoulders in others. I'm not even sure how you accurately measure snow that is blowing like that. I'd say we were probably in the 10 - 12" range though.

We got the storm here overnight...

Time to go out and shovel, good thing I have kids... :rotfl2:

Make sure you help too Brian. ;)

Well, imagine leaving your car outside overnight and having a 8" snow storm cover it.

Now imagine having over 300 cars outside on your LOT that you have to uncover!

This, my friends, is what WORK is for me today. :faint:

Don't you have some unpaid interns to handle that physical labor for you???? :rotfl2::lmao:

Maybe next time, you'll put put as many cars as you can inside the "quick lube" or whatever they call them at Ford dealerships in Ohio.
