That game was horrible! How bad does a QB need to be to make the decision that he is just not good. Another 4 picks for Sanchez and then a fumbled snap when the Titans basically tried to lose it. I'm obviously a Pats fan and glad the Jets are not good, but this is getting ridiculous. I see a new coach, QB and GM next year. Why not start the rookie QB you have?:confused3 We already know that Sanchez couldn't win a high school game and Tebow isn't the answer.

Congrats on the Tennessee win, I think?:lmao:

Lol, I would say congrats on jets being eliminated because at this point titans need to look at draft picks, not saying they need to lose on purpose but some great picks have been made one or two picks before titans drafted examples Pierre Paul (one pick before) clay Mathews (two picks before) sorry I'm still bitter about those going before

The old school has very much like that, there seems to be less of it here, but there is a certain disdain for parents who use before/afterschool programs, not spending enough time with their kids etc, bad parents etc. We could not survive the lack of income if one of us were to quit.

See my original comment. Both DW and I have taken off time to deal with the school as well as sending teachers email. It may help a little, but not very much. It is just preparing them for real life.

Yeah, Amelia started Junior Kindergarten at age 3, due to her late birthday, we wondered if that factored into her slow start.

I just don't like the fact they do not have a better grip on what is happening. They need to get better organized, for example, we only get things sent home once a week (Fridays)...the rest of the week is guessing games.

Yes, we have had some good teachers along the way which makes it worthwhile. Sometimes it is new teachers with lots of energy and sometimes the older ones who have experience.

It is definitely a money thing at our school. Fortunately, this is oldest's last year but we still have two more years with youngest.

I am lucky that we live in a community with a really strong school system. They do a good job of teaching the kids and making sure they are responsible for the work. I do agree that there are good teachers and bad teachers. My dad is a retired teacher and the real problem in the US in "tenure". Once a teacher gets there, it is hard to terminate them if they don't do a good job.

What I have seen is that the school caters to the top and bottom 5-10%. The better students (note I did not say smarter) get to take accelerated courses geared towards higher standards. The struggling students get extra programs and IED's and extra help. The average 80% is basically ignored and left without the resources they need for us to educate properly. It does get better as they get older as you can communicate directly with your kids about where they fit and how to better help them succeed.

I think you can explain the Jets by one off-season move... of course I'm referring to the acquisition of Tim Tebow.

They went out and got a high profile player and they really had no plan for how they'd use him. They had to know adding him is going to add more media scrutiny to a team that is already under the microscope of the NYC media outlets. The then let the addition of said player cause a never ending QB controversy among fans, media and players. At the end of the day, they're still not using this high profile player aside from certain situations when everyone in the stadium and at home watching on TV knows what exactly they're going to try to do.

As they say, if you have 2 QB's you don't have any.

Hummm…
Two trips to WDW or one bottle of fine spirits?
That’s a tough call…
:

As much as I like by alcohol, I would choose a trip to WDW over a $3000 bottle of hooch. And, congrats on getting two trips to WDW on 3K. Are you counting transportation costs and everything else? Bravo.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Now Norm is doing my nemie work for me. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I've been giving CJ grief whenever he complains about bad weather, working, or sports team. He even complains about the Marlins because they only won two WS. He's starting to sound like a Yankees fan.

Glad to see the completely random thought thrown in here. :confused3

No, that was th conclusion of Walker, Texas Ranger,

REALLY?:confused3 You post the nights episode of Walker Texas Ranger and now you want to slow down?

But, at least I responded to all your post padding in one multi quote post than in many single reply post padding.

They do a calendar agenda here so we know what is going on as well as emails.

We get the calender, but it doesn't help day-to-day stuff that crops up. We usually get stuff but once and a while no papers come home with her. Now I realize there is a lot of work-to-rule/job action going on, but still.

Everything is online for us here, including grades for all assignments. We can go online any time to make sure assignments are passed in, what homework is due the following day, current grade based on everything completed and stuff like that. You have to put a little bit of work into it, but the communication is there if you are willing. No folders or papers to lose. Very efficient.

Time for me to start saving some cash, Seaworld Parks is getting ready to file for a IPO:thumbsup2, this could be my early retirement fund, since Disney stock is now around $50 a share

No way. Really? I must buy a whale

Seaworld also owns Busch Gardens Tampa so you can get a two for one deal. It'll be interesting to see how quickly the shares rise. With all the expansion they are doing they must need the cash.

Eight words. Nice post nemie. You must be exhausted.

How many nemies does he have? It seems like everyone is jumping in. I guess it's an Illinois gangsta thing.

Agree with you about 80% not getting the education they need. But, I disagree about the tenure thing. It's like so many other things where you hear about the one lazy teacher with tenure, or one lazy state employee, one person faking it on disability, etc. For the most part, I don't think people start out in a career to make lower money and then hope to stay in the same level the rest of the life. I think it is a systems issue. Instead of teaching children cursive writing, teach them computer programming. Instead of taking one test a year to determine your educational comprehension, take a monthly test and average the scores.

That stinks. I think we have the same BIL. Mine took his moms CC and bought himself an iPad for Christmas. She decided to let him keep it :(

Not good, but not $16K of retirement money.

.
Norm, I know how you feel. Just one more week and its over. I'm going we get a bit more snow. The sister in law with the snow mobiles is hosting Christmas. They even have a sled the kids can ride.

That thought and alcohol helps me make it thru.

I don't know... I really like the scene in the first movie when she's leaned over under the hood on bumblebee.

That is a good one as well. I'm still going with Rosie.

Wow , that's crazy, I am close with him , if it wasn't for them, DD and I would still be living with my parents (that's not a bad thing either) but atleast I have some freedom and don't have to sneak all these random women on and out of the house haha jk

You are the playa.

Unless I read it wrong, the hooch was 5K.
I can’t pull off a trip for three at 1500 bucks either, but I can plan a couple of short stays and do pretty well on 2500 bills at a crack.

Either way…
I’m with you. Good liquor is a fine thing, but I wouldn’t even consider paying one Benji for a single serving of alcohol so exchanging 50 of ‘em won’t be happening any time soon. :lmao:

Assuming all the others are similar to those, with the exception of Ariel showing some leg... There was a problem with that????? :confused3

I posted the original on the group Face Book page. In that post with Jasmine and Belle I also posted Snow White but she didn't show. It could be a cut and paste issue and not the moderators.

Looks like it will try to snow a few days between here and Christmas,,,maybe we'll get a rare White Christmas....but likely not.

We used to have them all the time when we were young. Snow from Mid December through March at least. Not so much now.:sad2: I would think you would have snow up there by now. We may get a storm next week, assuming we are all still here and the world does not end.

Online check for our March cruise on the Dream is complete. We got the first embarkation time and two activities booked.

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Can't wait for March!

Glad everything is coming together. I'm sure I'll say it every time you mention the cruise, but HAVE A GREAT TIME!

Still got the fever, and she woke up around an hour ago to throw up a little, so another low key day today. DW is home today anyways, the teachers are in a one-day strike action today, so there's no school anywhere in the Greater Toronto area. :sad2:

Hope DD gets better soon.

We are just about over everything from the weekend. It really stinks when the kids are not well.

What is the difference between being a newlywed and being married over 10 years?

When newly married, the husband may get upset or ask his wife where she put the tape when wrapping a present, getting upset that the wife refuses to put things back in the drawer.

temporary-2072.jpg

But, after you have been married for over 10 years, you no longer get upset over such things, you simply solve the problem and move on. I know where I always keep my duct tape.

Have a Merry Christmas.

He has just me but he likes to get others going too

You wrap presents? I just use gift bags

Well, 5K makes a difference. I can pull off two trips easily for that, including the DVC dues.

Maybe I should check Facebook more often. :lmao::rotfl2:

Really????? You could post a picture of slave Leia from the movie and she'd be showing just as much skin as cartoon Ariel. :confused3 :lmao:

Good morning fellow dads, tonight for the first time ever, our family is exchanging gifts early because my brother and sister in law will be visiting her family in Vermont this year for Christmas , feels alittle weird but I'm cool with it. And my titans won in a snoozer of a game last night but I always enjoy eliminating a team from the playoffs though

Presents? I love presents. Have a great time! Always good to get together with family for any reason.

Morning Guys.

Could be an interesting couple of days here. There forecast is for 20-40 cm of snow tonight and another 20-40 tomorrow. That upwards of 2 feet for you guys south of the 49th.

Have a good day guys.

A white Christmas in your future I see. Sounds like the penguins will have a fun time.

Hey hoyce - Daniel!
