Hmm, lotsa conversation this morning, must be a holiday. Let's see, as to growing up I'm the most responsible of the three brothers so I guess I did some but I still love my toys and Disney so I guess there is still a lot of kid left. Of course some of my favorite toys go boom and bang so some might worry.

As to working I generally like my job since for the most part it involved booms and bangs, although not so much the last couple of years but could get interesting again as it looks like my group is getting more heavily involved with spec ops.

Still contemplating retirement options. I known what I want to do, I just wish there was someway I could get an idea if I had a shot at a Disney job. That would have a big impact. Still some time left unless they decide to force some retirements.

happy anniversary norm.

Thanks.

I'm sure that would have some implications on where you live. But, you could always rent something until you know for sure. I know that when I retire, I don't want to work anymore. Whether or not I will be able to still depends on a lot of factors over the next decade.

Hey guys... how's everyone's weekend.

We just got back from our weekend in Detroit, we went to the Oddball Comedy fest co-headlined by Flight Of The Conchords, and Dave Chappelle.

Awesome show, if it comes to your city, I hope you are planning on checking it out.

If you don't know Flight of the Conchords, you are missing out on a gem... :thumbsup2

They are New Zealand's 4th most popular folk band. :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

One of the members Bret McKenzie, wrote most of the Songs for "Disney's The Muppets", he also won the academy award for "Man or Muppet".

30 pages behind and just time to wish a Happy Labor Day Dads!

Anniversary dinner included shrimp and cheese grits. DW doesn't like champagne, so we'll have Landshark beer in our champagne flutes from Cinderella's Royale Table - they were an anniversary present from the mouse 8 years ago.

Happy anniversary to Norm and his lovely wife!

Thanks.

Dinner was great. The London Broil was perfect and a good choice on my part. Now I need a nap but the FSU/Pitt game is on.

anyone have any thoughts on this one???

I still don't know what to think. I guess ill have to wait to see it.

I'm looking forward to it.

Congrats again and glad the dinner went well. I am sure you realize how lucky you are and if not, you need a frying pan upside the head.

Doing our fasspass+ reservations for our trip in November.

Best partwas being able to change them, even the day of, if needed.

Glad you made it safely back. Following along it looked like a great trip.
Thanks..wish I could have kept up the posting, but there were reasons it sort of tailed off like it did. One, the wifi was spotty at best, it was frustrating, to the point I left my phone in the room most the time. It made it really hard to meet up with Jim, Carl and Cliff, the only reason we found Jim was purely by chance.
Two, a comment by my SIL on FB soured me on posting. It was about how people post about the fun etc people have with their families while they are restricted by her daughter's non-verbal Autism. I know this is utter BS, others seem to deal with it, I know Dads here do, she is just whiny, "poor me". Talking with my parents tonight revealed that it wasn;t meant for us, but for my brother's friends who all backed out of a party they threw earlier in the summer all to have "excuses" at the last minute to back out, after she took months to prep it up. It hurt her a lot. But she needs to learn to deal with it. It upset me and I planned to post MORE out of spite, but with the issues with WiFi I sort of gave up and focused on my family and having fun.

Welcome home Brent, made real good time on that drive.

What happened in Fayetteville?:confused3

Okay, here is the gist of it. We left later then we wanted to Saturday so drove longer then we wanted. Jo was getting pretty wiped by then so we needed to stop for the night, and chose to stop when we hit NC. We looked at options and chose a place in Fayetteville NC and a place that looked good with reasonable rates, so drove there. DW got a room, no probs, it was fairly full, and lots of people milling about. Some seemed to hover near the car after we parked, made us a bit nervous. We had a lot of stuff in the car, but did not want to hike it up stairs for what was going to amount to an 8-9 hour stay so when it was clear, we covered all and took a bag with clean clothes and my electonics. Reckless? Yes but in the end a better choice...
We got in and after my quick bedbug check we settled. The tiolet made a whining sound when flused, and the door was hard to open/close, but big deal there. Just as we were about ready to sleep I went to the sink area and saw a bloody huge roach. DW and I chased it and killed it, I got dressed to go, but DW was exhausted, so I spent an hour inspecting the place and stayed but didn't sllep much keeping an eye and ear out for the car, and for anything scurrying about. We inspected our things closely before we left too, thank god we didn't bring much up. Never saw another bug. Car was fine, there were a lot of family/friends staying there partying it up, milling about.
We slept a bit and were up by 5, out by 5:30, on the road. I think we put 3 hours behind us before we stopped for breakfast. Hell, there were people still up drinking beer being loud (near the car) at 5am!
Consulting the GPSwe realized we could be home before midnight if we pushed, so we did the 16 hour drive home, stopping for gas, food and stretching our legs. Got to Canada/US border at 10pm, home by 12:15am. (Took 45 minutes to get through line up at border) We just wanted to be in our own beds where we felt secure.

I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the group and myself and I hope we've passed the audition.

+1:thumbsup2

Hey Dads..I hope to have pics up by the end of the week, just getting re-settled again and sorting through the pics, there are almost 4000 between my camera, Photopass+, DW;s camera and her iPhone (my phone has like three on them). Trying to get the talking Mickey uploaded but having issues. Photobucket and FB are sketchy tonight, and not wanting to use Youtube but might have to.

It was a great trip. We were blessed with a LOT of Magic and pixie dust, by luck and amazing CMs. I also learned a few things along the way. Might or might not atempt a trip report, not very good at them.

Some Highlights:

Trip down was fun, girls were better at the drive then we thought they'd be. We made decent time, lots of traffic though. Cocoa beach was a great idea, Boat tour paid off, saw Manatees, Dolphins, turtles, lots of birds etc.

Weather was great, didn't feel as stupid hot as last time, although we were roasting at times. It rained, but didnt feel as bad as it did other times. Good storms a few times but we just rolled with it. We had 2 1/2 days of no rain near the end, not bad for august.

In two separate days at MK with Fastpass and FP+ with no set plan, we accomplished a LOT both days.

Gaston took a shine to the girls
Got my Jasmine Pic
Lots of Dole Whips.
Ended up as Grand Marshals of the Parade on the 23rd.
Met talking Mickey Mouse
Canal Side seats at San Angel right in front of the Volcano.
Little wait time on rides, just good planing, smart FPing and low crowds
Three rides on TSM in one day, Five in total.
Great interactions with some Characters, Woody, Gaston, Rapunzel and Mr Incredible come to mind
Pools were actually cool, not feeling like walking into soup. In the evenings it was cold enough to chill you when you came out.
Only DW had issues with her Magic Band, ours worked the way they are supposed to.
Meeting up with Jim, by chance at Epcot after failing to meet anyone else, mainly due to my crappy wifi issues and restrictions, and DW's wanting to keep moving on. I got frustrated about it. Talking with Jim and his Family at Epcot well past closing was a blast, even if we almost got stranded there thanks to oversights by CMs. Thank goodness a Bus Driver was paying attention.
I got to see this fabled Buena Vista Way I hear so much about....by accident and poor directions. (We know how to get lost in style!)

Might have been more, but got to get myself organized.

Happy birthday Rafiki!!!

Enjoy the day dads!

Morning Guys, hope everyone has a great Labour Day.

Happy Anniversary Norm and Katina!
