Evan was running the stairs while training for basketball this week and some klutz stepped on the back of his ankle and twisted it out. He had been running 2-3 miles a day, 3 skills classes a week and training hard, now he basically has to sit for at least a week.:headache: Feel bad for him, he was working really hard and now the old "two steps back" cliche applies.
Sorry to hear that and hope he recovers in full sooner rather than later.
Only benefit is that by saving money on accomodations, the trips hardly make a dent in the fun budget. When that happens and I keep tutoring as much as I have been, DVC gets a little closer to reality. And if that ever happens, I won't have to deal with this. Timeshares make me feel like I'm just visiting Disney. Onsite is when you are in Disney.
Sorry about all that, gotta just luv family. Pulling for you though on the DVC scenario
Morning guys.

Thinking of Fed this am with the news about the Navy Yard.
Thoughts and prayers to all involved in this
For those of you that remember the story, the Ukranian visitor accepted a family's offer of adoption. Minnesota will be receiving a new Ukrainian teenage girl sometime in the next year. DW was a little sad at the news. I get that. She wishes it had been us but it was clear that we weren't a good fit. But ultimately we're happy that there's going to be one less orphan in the world.

On a slightly related note, I decided to buy Rosetta Stone Russian again (I had returned it before). For whatever reason, DD and I really liked learning it.
Thoughts and prayers your way and very nice focussing on the welfare of the young lady - cudos to you and DW :thumbsup2
Good thing someone is paying attention. Randall, thanks for the reminder.

To all, I have hit that milestone of 5,000 posts and while my wife and children just shake their heads at me while I post, it's nice to know around 700 others that understand.

It's been a while since I joined and have had a few DisDads meet ups. In my opinion, you can't find a better group of people to communicate with (except CJ of course because he is my nemesis). Thanks to all for letting me be part of the group and hope to meet up with many of you in the future.
Congrats and very well said. Though still a member in training (even though I seem to have years on several of ya :lmao:) I second the opinion of this group
had a back stage tour today. Briana took us behind the magic kingdom and showed us around a little. we went to cast connections. the place where cast members can buy anything from resort furniture, desks, props, Disney park clothes you name it. also took us to company d. company d is where cms can buy there park tickets for family and cm clothing, pens, pins you name it. company d is in the Disney university building.
Appreciate you taking the time to keep sharing this cool insight and perspective. DS is enjoying every minute of the behind the scenes insight.

Thanks, but don't be. Although I've never been to Minnesota, I hear it's nicer than living in a Ukranian orphanage. Our goal was to see Alyona with a family. I think we played a part in that. It wasn't the part we expected, but it looks like it's ending well. We can't complain.

Hope she does well. She'll already be familiar with our winters. Plus we have a sizable Russian/Easter European immigrant population in the Twin Cities.

Survived the dentist. No cavities, but I really don't like going there. I took the rest of the day off and drank Crown and Coke. A good day (minus the dentist), and I did manage another 4 day week.

Good thing someone is paying attention. Randall, thanks for the reminder.

Bravo. They never understand.

she don't want to sell pop corn and ice cream the rest of her life but she does like working for Disney. she likes the cast members and the company. the best part about wdw is you can work your way up. when she comes home, she is going to try to work for the Disney store while finishing her degree.

she does want to come back maybe for the summer.if we lived here, I would be willing to bet she would be part time here.

Not want to sell popcorn at WDW? Actually, I get it. When I worked in the bakery and fried donuts, I didn't want to eat any donuts. That was the thinnest I have ever been in my life.

I'll need to go work there long enough to buy stuff. I couldn't work for WDW too long or I wouldn't have any $ with all my discounts.

You missed my point. Point being the operative word.

Think about it.

Sorry I was still stuck on all the Canada bashing. Yes there can be a little nip in the air at times. ;)

We have that in Canada.

What he said.

Man, just back from hospital Audrey woke ith a croupy cough just before midnight, aggrivating her asthma. All good though, cleared up now.

Glad she is better. Scary stuff.

You mean, the same regret the Dolphins have had for the last 7 years? :confused3

I thought it was a bad trade but at least we got a draft pick. No one said the "brain trust" that runs the Phins are very competent.

To all, I have hit that milestone of 5,000 posts and while my wife and children just shake their heads at me while I post, it's nice to know around 700 others that understand.... (blah, blah, blah and some more drivel)

Congratulations on the milestone. It is fun playing here with you as my nemesis.

she is coming home in January to finish her degree. she is leaning towards the hospitality field. she could extend till may but that would put her another semester behind. we have met a few of her managers this trip and they tell us what a great kid she is??????? :lmao:...

Great pics Zerf. You did well raising her. Or at least her mother did.

Glad she found a home even though it was not with you guys. Like you said, one less orphan in the world.

Thanks, Dave! :thumbsup2

So..., are you thinking of moving there so she can?

:woohoo:

My photopass CDs arrived! Three disks in total, hope to have some pics up later on...

At last there is proof! :rotfl2:

I haven't hit that yet, but I occasionally get ticked off and want to smack some of the people in the TPA&S board and leave for months at a time.

Some of those people need to be smacked.

Especially the ones that don't get sarcasm. Everyone here understands sarcasm, except for YOU (you know who YOU are).

Spent the last hour and a half in middle school parent-teacher conferences. Fun". But, good news is that oldest dd is well liked, has decent grades, and made friends easily.

I'm crying and reporting you to the mods. :sad1:

Here are some pics from the Parade Grand Marshall event...freshly uploaded

I can't help but wonder if it was our shirts that made us stand out, we were quite colourful, or it was stunts like pulling the Mayor of Main Street into out photo. This was the pic before we were approached by the CM

Portrait with our ears, and a look at what they said..there was also a certificate, free photos and cold water at the end!

In the car waiting backstage

During the parade

Plus I threw in some Princess Pics :thumbsup2

I was a suit of armour at Storytime with Belle as well
